I played this game much when I was younger and as far as I can remember it was hard and fun! I haven't watched it yet but the time sounds fast to me.

would having 2 players make boss fights much quicker? plus having two players does make it more entertaining although it's a pain to make :)
It's possible the boss fights would be slightly faster, but I don't know that yet. Also I don't think that time saved is greater than the bonus sequences that I don't have to view when playing only 1 player.

I also do a bomb-kneel-bomb jump which I find cool and useful in certain portions of the game. I will continue to do things like this as opposed to standing still or bomb jumps already done by Teri and others.
It sounds awesome ;) I'm not a big WIP-person myself as I like to get the whole experience (the movie) at one time. But I might watch it anyways ;)

I'll do a 1 player run beacuse then (as far as I know right now) I can skip the competing bonuses. I've read that if one of the players rescues a neighbour more or so in every stage that player will have a reward after the stage, which takes unnecessary time.

Yeah, it works like that at times, I know that it definitely works in the final level...but there's actually a trick that mentions actually tells how to finish beating the boss by killing the last cheerleader at the end of the level, but you have to have at least two victims or something to pull it off. It's in that big FAQ on GameFAQs.
I'm aware of this trick but I don't know if I should use it. But that's for later headache ;)

I would also consider stockpiling ammo somehow. I know that both bosses take an insane amount of shots to beat, and I'm always constantly running out of ammo when I fight them. o_O
Yeah, that's probably a good idea.

Oh, I wasn't aware of this. Sorry. I only remember that Michael said he wasn't going to do this before he changed emulator. Now I'm even more excited ;)

I've checked the speedrun of this game now and it looked pretty good. From what I remember this game is very hard and he completed it in one go! Awesome. Anyway, I'm not sure about this but from what I remember the victims are sort of fixed at each map. What I mean is that if I were to only rescue one neighbour at each map to save time it wouldn't save that much time at all because the last neighbour to rescue is still very far from the starting point. Is this right? This means, especially in the boss stages, that the last neighbour is behind a door which requires a special key, dropped from the boss, and thus it wouldn't save much time just to rescue that neighbour. This is what I remember and what I could figure out by looking at the speedrun, but I might be totally wrong about it though ;) Anyway, I think I'll aim for all neighbours rescued in each stage because that's a hard task with those maniacs running around.

This is sounding more interesting the more I read. I haven't checked your WIP yet but I do have one small request. It's the bomb-jumping when there are waiting scenes ;) Of course it doesn't affect anything but it only looks cool, atleast I think so. Teri did this and IMO it looked very skilled and cool. Regardless, I'm looking forward to see your full run eventually. Good luck!

Okay, I'll stop bothering you about it. Just remember to select PAL Emulation next time you make a submission for this! (I was surprised you managed to miss it.)
Yes. The reason why I didn't is simply because I wasn't aware of it first. When it was brought up I was already on my way to Sagilas cave (where you get the crossbow) and thus I didn't want to start over again.

Well, I guess the fight vs Ligar would be faster, it the picture is true and the US version allows you to get 4000 tone points. But that also means I have kill loads of more enemies. I thought I killed quite a lot of them now and I got 1014 tone points (or somewhere close). If one would get 2000 tone points (if that's even possible) you will have to kill legions of robots or something. Thus I don't think it would save any time at all. Also you can't jump over the river in the US version and there is no enemies around those parts that would make up for that time.

So... Can you get more in the NTSC version?
According to the picture in the instruction book, yes. I haven't tested it out though but since I used the PAL-version I don't think it's a problem really.

I've decided to make this run. My biggest concern right now is to learn how to handle the Snes emulator ;) That could take some time. Also school has just started again so I don't know how much time I can spend on this. It will be done though if nothing stupid like heavily desynchs or something happens. I would very much appreciate if anyone had any tips or tricks for share. I haven't played this much yet but I know that the potions can be manipulated and such. I guess I learn more about the game once I start to time attack it.

I have watched this movie now and voted yes. However, this is mostly because I there already is a published version which is worse. I don't think the choice of game is very good, however well-played it might be.
This might be true, I still like this game very much though ;) Also I've done worse games (Felix). Oh well. Thanks.

More people didn't comment on this? It's... amazing. I had several "what is he doi.. what?!"
I also noticed this. Maybe it was mixed up by my warping version? Thanks though for your comments!

Three things I thought about: 1) Could you get more life-refills and make up for it by more double stars? I know the random in this game is a bitch to manipulate, but anyway. Then you could take a hit or two more somewhere.
Maybe. This was however not really useful in this run because I sort of didn't got in any situations where damage would have been profitable. In my previous version I had some "bad" enemy positions and allowing them to hit me pushed me forward so I didn't have had to stop and kill them. I skip the last potion I get from the tree, just before entering the area where the door to the floating castle is. this is because I found no use of it later on (yes, I did test that) and thus taking it and losing a few frames seemed unnecessary. Lastly, the randomness is teh_stupid in this game and I'm not really sure what triggers items to drop. It is however not possible to manipulate something small and exchange a health potion for a star.

2) You kill very few of the shadow enemies in the final castle. Are they that strong? More tone on the final boss is always nice...
I already had as much tone points as I need for the final battle and the shadow enemies takes 1 or 2 hits too much, meaning that if I want to kill a shadow-man (that gives tone points, the crawling enemies doesn't) I have to turn around, and since it won't affect the outcome of the last battle it's pretty useless. In the european instruction book there is a picture of Rygars tone points reaching 4000-something. This was a big concern to me when I was younger and tried to finish Ligar off on console. In the PAL-version you can only get 1024 (if I recall correct) tone points and that's max. I know I had more tone points in this version than in my previous one. I think I managed to get 1014 or something this time, but Ligar still takes 33 hits. Thus, killing more enemies not in my direct way is useless.

3) The previous version had some running-in-the-air in the overhead levels when you pushed against a wall while jumping, this version doesn't show that glitch. Any reason why?
Sometimes when jumping you lose a frame, even if you put your feet down. Because of this I choosed not to jump and run in the air. On the other hand it might have been equal time consuming to just running but.. Well, I didn't do it this time. It is however shown briefly in Doragos Castle, right after killing 2 crawling enemies ;) Thanks for comments though!

I can't complain about too many heroes. A few things I've noticed though is that Chen was bugged, atleast in 6.03. His revive skill didn't work properly. Also I think the Stealth Assassin sucks now. He is still pretty cool and his new backstab ability is good and all but the red text that appears when he got a hit in sort of destroys his sneaking ability. Also, why did they remove his death ward? In 6.04 they have changed the terrain from forest to snow. This sucks big time in my opinion because now it doesn't only look horrible and boring but it's also sort of harder to play the map. Personally I like those sort of hidden areas like where Roshan is. It might be just me of all who plays dota but I would appreciate more "secrets" like him ;) Oh yeah! The creeps way points acts stupid also. I didn't see this in v5.xx but maybe I wasn't paying attention. Anyways, if the miss their way point because they attack other creeps or whatever, they go back to the closest way point before they proceed. Can be annoying sometimes when you charge a tower and think you are supported by creeps ;P It's most noticable in the corners of the map. That's what I can come up with right now. I'll add more later if something comes to my mind.

It's a custom game for WarCraft 3. Defence of the ancients I think. You goal is to destroy the other teams base and you can only chose 1 of many heroes to do so. Also you can buy some cool items to be able to deal more damage. Even though it's kinda simple it's very wellmade, entertaining and addictive ;)

Xebra, how much are you involved in making new Dota-versions? I've been playing loads of Dota's lately and I got some thoughts about some heroes and the map itself. Unfortunately I haven't voted for your heroes because I didn't want to sign up there but I wish you luck with them anyways ,)

Thank you! The robots are a bit hard to manipulate and the fight where I kill 3 simultaniously was pretty good. I did try this as the first thing, meaning I fought 3 robots in my first fight up there. This was bad unfortunately because the lag and timing with their beams costed me ~20 seconds compared to how it is now. The fight against Ligar felt better than the last one, so yeah, maybe it was slightly more aggresive ;)

That's awesome. I will try this eventually.

That being said, any improvements made will rely on the speed scrolls. In fact, I believe the speed peaks out after a while (I need to test this), and if this is true, you could grab a scroll before your revert back to normal speed to better maintain it.
I'm not really sure of what you mean here. Of course I can theoretically grab scrolls at the last moment possible to maintain speed, because they don't fade away gradually but abrubtly ends. But this is hard because the luck manipulation is teh_pain in this game. If that was what you refered to?
