Now besides the any% of this game, I remember that there was a 100% version but sadly the 100% run of the game was repetitive and cancelled as a result of that. To try and avoid that, hows about for Mario vs Donkey Kong an any% tas and the PLUS mode tas? (so use a save game with 100%, I can provide one just PM me). Since 100%ing is just "demonstrating the same tricks".
It doesn't fully work like that. You also need a movie file that would generate said save game. If the 100% TAS was submitted and rejected that TAS can be used to generate a save game. It would then be better to use the TAS to generate the save game which you base your TAS on as well.

According to the code as far as I can tell this is the programmed behavior. I am going to check through the revisions to see if he broke something, if I cannot find anything there I don't know if I can build this without the help of someone who used this emulator to make a video... Unless they dump avi / capture the screen as they are TASing and just go with that instead of creating movie files. EDIT: Checked through the revisions and this is the programmed behavior of the commands, I cannot find any traces of code that should represent the missing dialog boxes nor can I find hotkeys for these functions. I don't know what to do here, if someone figures it out or manage to contact the author, it would be awesome if they could lay out the details here. According to the logs this probably happened: He took adelikats experimental PCSX2-rr which was built on PCSX2 0.9.6, updated the core to PCSX2 0.9.7, then he started re-making the dialog boxes and quit half-way. This might help someone figure stuff out if my theory is correct.

I'll check tomorrow if I forgot a file. If it's not a missing source file, then I am afraid I cannot help.

I am fairly certain Abahbob is still working on the any% TAS.

Why did you use European rom? NO vote.
If you read what nitrogenesis said (and I checked this myself): There is no other dumped version of this game around the internet. I think this is a pretty good excuse to use the E ROM. I will not comment on the run itself because I have not had the chance to watch it yet.

Never had that problem with AnonFiles. I don't like MediaFire as the need registering. If you have not been able to download this by tonight (12 hours from this post) I will upload it somewhere else.

Build here: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=325025#325025 I have no idea if it will even work, read more about it in the topic. It starts for me, that is all I know.

Ok, there seemed to be a lot of interest in a build off that Progenitor updated PCSX2-rr, so I built it: https://anonfiles.com/file/6a0e7f9a89ef363a9f75adfb36091820 A few things: 1) I have no idea if this will work 2) My DirectX SDK is a little iffy 3) I may have packed this wrong and all deps are missing 4) This build is not PGOd because I just have no idea how to do that Built with Visual Studio 2008 SP1 with DirectX SDK June 2010 targeted at Win32 platforms, not SSE/SSSE optimized.

http://code.google.com/p/progenitor/ This seems to be what the guy is using to tas. There is no binary available. If anyone gets it compiling, please provide a binary! I haven't tried to get it working yet, though I keep meaning to...
It seems to be based off version 0.9.6 just like the -RR fork. I am slowly working on checking if it's worth attempting to fork a more recent version of the emulator. But since this will take some time as I am planning on verifying that the state of the CPU and all the help-cores is solid enough. I can throw up a build of this emulator in the meantime, I will attempt to build it later tonight.

I also badly want to TAS this game, because I have seen some of the GTA Stunting League movies on YT, and I think there are a lot of TAS only shortcuts waiting to be explored.

You can skip fighting Lanmolas and Moldorm and still beat the game, by using the Death Mountain Descent glitch. I just want all dungeons to be completed in this run, so I beat those bosses anyway even though it isn't needed.
I think it would actually add entertainment to not beat them, but I am not doing the TAS. Thanks for the clarifications :)

Getting the first pendant is neccesary to get the Pegasus Boots. But the other two are only to get the Master Sword. I'll skip the MS but still beat all dungeons. For the swords you are able to upgrade the Lvl 1 sword to the Tempered. But to get the Golden Sword you have to throw in the Tempered one. Neither Uncle's Sword or the Master Sword will work for this.
So it is necessary to beat all the dungeons to finish the game "normally" then? That sucks :( Thanks for clarifying the Sword issue.

I showed the WIP to a friend of mine and it bred a discussion that pointed out something I didn't consider. Though I am quite sure you have considered this I have to ask: (Note that neither one of us have played this game in a few years) Are the medallions needed for anything besides picking up the Master Sword? Or is the added strength from the Master Sword / Tempered Sword needed before the face off with Aghanim? Because he pointed out that since this is an old game and since the creators never considered us to tear the Dark World apart with the Fighters Sword that there are probably no checks to verify that you have the Master Sword or the Tempered Sword which means it should be possible to get the Golden Sword from the Fighters Sword through the fat fairy. If this holds and the medallions / higher sword level isn't needed for anything else it would not be necessary to fight Moldorm either, just get the Moon Pearl and get out. Or is it so that the time saved from not completing Hera's Tower and not completing the Desert Palace plus skipping the Master Sword is nulled by the reduced ability to inflict damage to the enemies until the Golden Sword can be obtained? (I hope this question makes sense at least)

I see I forgot to comment. I watched the first WIP earlier and the 2nd WIP now and some of the glitches here look so easy to perform (had to try myself) that I almost thought the emulator didn't emulate this game correctly. Keep it up!

All hits on Moldorm were made on the earliest frame possible. For the final hit it looks like I'm waiting awhile, but that's because it is much quicker to move away, the time between each hit is still the same however.
Haven't played the game in a while, so I forgot that, thanks. Then it looks all good to me.

That was hilarious. Specially when it looked like you left Zelda in a wall and took her out from another wall. Great WIP. It did however look like some hits on Moldorm was delayed a teeny-tiny bit, was that a mistake or did you manipulate something?

That's a very interesting compilation video, I only knew of the pot skip for this chapter. If you recorded an smv, please upload that as well, here: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/ It might easier to understand a few of the glitches if we can see the input you did to execute them.

I cannot find it in French, but you can check out this forum section: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=55 Read the welcome topic, and if you still have questions about TASing, feel free to ask there in French.

I did post a WIP for this in the new section for them, so if you have the game you could play it back. I will see if I can get a video file up on youtube to link to.

I got one of these calls, they never dared calling here again. My response may not have been entirely ok legal-wise, but it appears to scare them off: "You do realize you called a police officer that works with internet fraud, right?" Never had anyone hang up on me that fast before.

My PS2 controller cord is no longer possible to get straight, but it's about 240-250 centimeters (or 7'10'' - 8'2'')
