That was chaotic to say the least, excellent job. Yes vote. I especially liked when you walked through a giant axe.

VBA is a little unintuitive when it comes to resuming recording. When you want to stop TASing, enter frame advance and make a save-state where you want to resume. Record for a few more frames (no input), then stop the movie. When you want to resume work, load the ROM, load the movie in read+write mode, load the save-state, choose Resume Recording from Now from the Tools->Movie menu. If you want to resume work on an existing movie and do not have a save-state, play the movie back until a few frames before the place you want to resume from, then choose Resume Recording from Now from the Tools->Movie menu.

Disable reboot on blue screen according to these steps: http://www.tunexp.com/tips/maintain_your_computer/disabling_blue_screen_of_death_auto-reboot/ Next time the blue screen happens, take a photo of it or write down what comes after STOP at the bottom. When you done this you must reboot your PC manually.

I was never a fan of Apple, I even thought some of their stuff was useless and overpriced. But RIP nevertheless.

Impressive, this is really good.
I wonder if there's any music genre that's harder and more aggressive than deathcore... If you like more melodic death metal, try this (one of my favorites): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zCPwR4c3bA
I liked Impending Doom better, seems like you would enjoy this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAfRL5EE6RU

You could also translate/explain the TAS using subtitles—whether built-in, .srt, or Lua-assisted. There, problem solved.

I see. But doesn't BSnes not allow this?
BSNES is the most accurate emulator around when it comes to SNES, patches that work on BSNES will probably work on a real SNES, patches that don't work might actually still work on a SNES but the chances are really slim. There are however translations for many more consoles, some which do not have emulators as accurate as SNES. Also BSNES does not have TASing ability so this means an extra playthrough is required to find out if the translation shall be allowed at all. And even then there could be issues that only arise when TASing because a normal playthrough would not trigger such cases.

If you burned the patched ROM to a writable cart, it could still be verifiable on console if a TAS was made for it.
Translations sometimes use illegal operations that are allowed by emulators through coding mistakes or poor documentation of the console. This means the translation would fail to run on the real console and is therefor impossible to verify.

And because TASvideos already accepted, and published, an OoT run with Japanese text in the past, this shouldn't really be any different.
That was a very special case though, the TAS was already done and he was encouraged to post it here, it would have been soulless to reject it for being the J ROM. It was explained in the thread of that submission.

Faster text.
Why wouldn't this be accepted?
According to the site rules faster text can not be used as a sole argument to use a non-English version of the game. OoT though is done so out of order that the story doesn't make sense anymore so there is no need to be able to follow it in my opinion.

I am not sure if you know this glitch, but there is a box count glitch that allows to skip parts of levels. It is explained in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKJ21EDIaLU at 1h 00m 40s and throughout that level. It is also used again in one of the Bee-levels of Warproom 5 to skip collecting boxes in the death route. This is being demonstrated on the PAL version of the game, but they don't mention it being exclusive to PAL.

Wouldn't that make the gb(c) runs incompatible with vba? Besides, the more emulators, the harder it is to maintain them.
That would be the downside, yes.

I have evaluated the work which is required to fix memory poke timing, and it pretty much put me off... To fix the timing inaccuracy I need to rewrite the entire timing method and CPU execution core to make it cycle-based. I may give it a shot later to sort it out, but currently it feels like it would be easier and faster to just implement TAS tools into Gambatte and use that for GB(C) TASing.

I had to watch the previous TAS and this one side by side to truly appreciate the improvements. While it's a tad slow the new glitches adds tons of entertainment and some WTF, yes vote.

While this has absolutely no entertainment value whatsoever it's a really nice TAS from a technical view. Also it beats the previous publication of this game. Yes vote.

I almost always go out of my way to get coins when I have time to waste anyway, like when I have to wait for an enemy to move and I would have just been standing in place for 3 seconds, which is less entertaining than moving around and doing something productive, like collecting coins. Standing around instead of collecting coins wouldn't have been any faster. The only exception is Boulder Canyon, where getting those 6 coins is 4 frames slower than double jumping over the pit, but I save more frames at the Coins Missed screen than I lose going that route.
Looking at the run again I think you're right. Ignore my suggestion.

I had started planning to TAS this game when I was done with my current projects... Damn you! I will watch this and return with my vote.
