Looks pretty interesting, if the entertainment picks up as you say I would love to see the complete thing.

The publish-encodes are not completed yet, thus it is not ready to publish.

The 0-star run is so short it doesn't show off the hack enough for it to feel special over the regular Super Mario 64. I will echo the others who said that an any% or 100% run would be more interesting to watch. I have to vote no.

Could be that, that's how the first TAS of Super Mario Sunshine was made.

It has to be the pc version. If you compare the loading times with this PS2 let's play, you see that the TAS loads way faster. And afaik you can use the lock on function on pc as soon as you use a controller as input. So i guess its hourglass;-)
It's the PS2 version if you know where to look and the texture differences between the PS2 and PC version, you will see it's the PS2 version. The loading times could be an emulation glitch or a hack, could also be a difference between game versions. The runner used a Japanese version of the game while the let's play doesn't.

Some things that needs to be noted... First: He is doing an "all story missions" run Some mistakes just in the first minutes: • He takes a doubtful path to the safe house • He drives the wrong way around after leaving the safe house to grab his first mission (he has to turn the car around) • He picks up the baseball bat for the second mission, totally unnecessary • He does not get out of the car when picking up Misty from her apartment (makes her run instead of walking slowly) • He has the bat equipped when he doesn't need it • He doesn't run at all times There's even more but I haven't watched this video for a few days and I am not planning on seeing it again.

I agree with Brandon, I know of both the Banjo games and the Final Fantasy series, but I never bothered to play them so I have no idea what the story is. And during the SNES / PSX era, I hardly did anything but play video games.

I didn't find this much more entertaining than the SDA run. I guess playing a 3d game on an emulator without proper support is why it's so unoptimized. The shooting wasn't too bad, but the driving/route was terrible.
He skips a lot of the known tricks as well.

Good grief... People can actually listen to this? The world is indeed ending... Darn it, I am not ready yet.

That was incredible. I can't help to wonder what a All Missions run would look like, if it is feasible to make one that is.

Depends on if you're a good programmer and can add the feature yourself. I believe Lex or nitsuja is already working on adding it to Hourglass officially.

You can't do that yet, but the feature is on the way and should be available in the future (most likely soon if I understood it right)

I am getting a HUGE load of "certificate chain incomplete" errors, before they show up the video works fine, then it becomes really choppy in the same way as Warp is describing. Heck, even my browser begins lagging like mad. Using Opera 12 first pre-alpha, latest flash version Windows XP 64 bit AMD Athlon64 4800+ (2 cores) 4 GB RAM 8 Mbit ADSL

Someone has been researching the PSX GPU quite a bit, he posted some code based on his work, he says it's one of the most accurate implementations around if I understand him correctly. Perhaps something that can be worked into PSXjin to give us better graphics and less hacks? Read his post and get his code here: http://board.byuu.org/viewtopic.php?p=39531#p39531

A bit boring sometimes. Yet it's entertaining enough. This game is plain weird. It has an outstanding techical quality, but... It's just not enough, way WAY too hard and annoying, and most of the time not understandable. Too bad for your beloved angry duck. Anyway, back on the TAS: yes for me, yet I don't think I'll ever watch it again.
Got exactly the same feeling, I also voted yes for the same reasoning.

What can I say? This was nuts, you gave the abbreviation AI a whole new meaning (Artificial Incompetence), great work. Yes vote.

a new pcsx2 version (0.9.8) was released about a week ago. it works pretty good. people who don't like the option of having plugins will like it, but i would have liked the option to have zerogs graphics, so it would have been possible to capture avi.
AVI dumping should still exist if you allow hacks and then press F12, I am currently unable to verify this myself.

It looks really well done, but good grief this was boring to watch, I only lasted 5 minutes. I am afraid I must say No due to game choice.

I don't know if this game will work in Hourglass because it's so old, but for those who wanna try, I would like to see the freeware game "I've Got Some BALLS" TASed. More information and download here: http://www.acid-play.com/download/ive-got-some-balls (The game is freeware so the download should be allowed) A video of the game being completed unassisted using single map mode: http://www.youtube.com/user/7WhitePhoenix7 EDIT: Changed the video link because the uploader set the old one to private in favor of a new one with better times.

And finally, here is my desktop PC desktop: Slightly resized to not take a long while to load, original resolution and file size: 1920 x 1080 @ 5.1 MB Properties: • Clean and tidy desktop • Same background as my laptop • Uses Windows XP 64bit • Custom skin to get rid of the boring looks of Windows XP • Protected by Avira AntiVir and Spybot S&D • Completely in English language (except for the music I listened to when the screen was made... Which is in Hungarian)

Both my nickname and avatar is derived from the first 2 Underworld movies...they are among my favorite movies. Lycan-Vampire-Hybrid was too long, so I shortened it to Warepire. My avatar is a screenshot from the movie of Marcus Corvinus after he is turned into a Lycan-Vampire-Hybrid.
