Hey, not so silent! The number of thorium advocates increases quickly as time passes and hopefully liquid fluoride thorium reactors will be a reality in the near future. Check the media coverage section of this blog and this article to see what I mean. This other article on the subject of thorium is pretty informative.
Thanks for those articles, here in Sweden all updates on Thorium nuclear reactors and technology just went silent in 2007... I hope China succeeds in their mission as it would aid the whole world and provide us with better energy until we figure out cold fusion.

At the moment nuclear power is necessary for us to have the kind of high-tech society we live in today, although cold fusion is becoming more and more real (some Italian science team had a demo of an experimental reactor last year) nuclear power is the safest option when done right. What I do not think is that we will be using uranium to fuel our reactors during the entire period. Thorium was getting quite a lot of attention some years ago and showed really promising results (including lower decay periods) until everything just went silent in 2007... I have not seen a single update about thorium research since this article: http://www.power-technology.com/features/feature1141/ The current biggest issue with thorium is the mining process which produces some pretty nasty waste, but if that can be worked around I think we have a new fuel on our hands.

I'm going to agree with Pasky13 here. If nothing changes further on that makes this fun I would say this is a bad game choice, I was bored out of my mind.

It was obvious... Shame on me for not realizing that.

I am probably missing something really obvious here but why didn't you just unminish in the builders hut after dropping the second book to the floor?

Has the issue mentioned above been solved yet? I haven't used Dolphin in awhile and I stopped watching the changelog in March. I'd like to continue TASing GC games, but it's too frustrating with that glitch.
There was some commits done to improve DTMs today actually, my current computer (laptop) is too weak to run Dolphin so I cannot test if it solved the issue mentioned by DDRKhat.

I wasn't overly entertained... Though Tomb Raider never really entertained me so it doesn't count, but extremely well made TAS with some insane tricks and nice glitches. Yes vote.

This is a Europe-only game, no U or J ROM exists. I need an encode before I can comment on anything else though.

It wouldn't be hard to add a field to the movie & submission databases then display "Emulator used:" on them. Then of course it would be up to some movie editors to go fill in that info on a whole lot of movies. I think the idea makes sense though.
I support this, it would simplify so much.

Looks great, one question: The info-sign right before the TNT in intro level, is it faster to read that than jump over? To me it looks like jumping over it is faster.
Well, I'd watched mmarks' WIP in his post. And I copied his move but not his input, though. I think there's no way to jump over a TNT box.
I meant jumping over the "tooltip" sign instead of triggering it. Sorry for not being clear on that.
Yes. Even that. But even you jump over a tooltip, it can decreases speed by bouncing over a TNT box.
Ah, then I didn't see anything that can be better about that segment.

Since emulators are supposed to mimic the consoles as good as they possibly can it's safe to say that Mupen does exactly what it's supposed to and crashes the ROM when you attempt a stick on B as adult. (Just as the real N64 crashes the game)
But it doesn't crash the rom, it crashes the emulator, which I would categorize under bad coding. In no case should the emulator crash. And well you could also argument that it's a hardware bug in the N64, which the developers had to work around and which was fixed in GC and VC versions. If you are a bastard like me that is. ;)
Since the VC and GC version does not behave like this it's a newly introduced glitch in the emulation wrapper (VC version) or in the ported code (GC version). Since either is done by Nintendo themselves it should be allowed to abuse that glitch in a TAS done on one of these versions. If the glitches currently used in the OoT run can be done on the VC and/or GC version, or this glitch saves more time than it costs to not have access to a different glitch, then it would be interesting to switch to that version for future revisions of OoT TASes.
Like I said it doesn't have anything to do with the roms, but the emulators. Which means you would have to run the VC emulator in Dolphin to use these glitches. Probably possible, but kinda overkill, don't you think?
If the emulator itself crashes, yes, then it's just bad coding that happen to give the same "effect" as doing the trick on console. Sadly N64 emulation is not too great, with any emulator, I might take a whack at making a N64 TAS emulator in a year or so but I won't promise anything. (I am trying to learn how to code good emulators right now) For the emulator in emulator, the way I understand it it's just a wrapper, not a complete emulator, either way, it's the way it's played on console so why not? :P

Not necessarily. If the N64 crashes because some line of code that leads to undefined behavior is accessed, then an emulator wouldn't really have to emulate it exactly as the real console. It's not unlikely that Mupen crashes for slightly different reasons than the real N64.
I forgot that aspect, thanks.

So what's so awesome about those games, Warepire?
I guess I should have explained why I nominated them, I should not post when I am on the run... Destrega is a full 3D fighting game where you have both ranged combat by magic and close combat (works like pretty much any other fighting game). You're a little limited to the number of characters to choose from but overall really fun and a good party game, not many seem to know this game, nor is it easy to find. As soon as I pulled my thumb out of my ass and properly learn TASing I am going to do some WIPs for various PSX games (this included) and see if anything is TAS-worthy. Nox is kinda like a dungeon crawler / rpg type game with real time combat. You can choose between a few classes but I cannot remember exactly which as I have not played this in a couple of years. There is a speedrun on SDA of this game that shows the Wizard class. Demonlition Racer is pretty much like Destruction Derby, except that you are encouraged to be much more brutal and it has more game modes, also the tracks are more fun. My favorite part is that you can one-hit kill someone by Death From Above (land on the other car from a jump etc). Offroad is an excellent rally game, you race offroad buggies, the tracks are all dirt roads and other terrain that is not normally a road, the tracks are half-open, which gives a nice possibility of shortcuts. The game is pretty hard as it's really easy to flip the buggy. The Sting! is a game without competition, I never seen a game come close to what this game is, this is believe it or not a burglary simulator / rpg. You are to plan burglaries and then execute them, the more you manage to loot the better, but remember that the quicker you're in and out of the builder, the smaller the chance that someone notices that the place is being robbed. When Windows TASing becomes a reality for large games like this one, I believe this game would be really hilarious to see TASed, I would even do it myself if I am still around when it happens. Metal Fatigue is a RTS game where you fight on 3 levels, the air, the ground and underground, your main type of uinit is the Combot (Combat Robot) and is a quite customizable mech where you combine various types of arms, torsos, legs etc. You have of course your own technology and Combot parts, but when they get boring, raid the enemy and bring home parts of slain enemy Combots to increase your selection. This is pretty much a one of a kind RTS game and I have yet to this day to find a copy of the full game that I can afford, I have been playing the demo over and over again since 2001. Prices for this game ranges from 80 USD to 400 USD depending on condition and "completeness".

Well GC and VC are also official Nintendo versions and there it works. So I guess it depends on what your definition of error is.
However, this might be a valid reason to be TASing the GC or VC version in the future as it has more interesting glitches.
VC is just 1.2 in an emulator. GC is somewhat changed, but in mupen the rom will also crash with stick on B. Ofcourse you could go for max absurdity and TAS the VC version in Dolphin. XD
(Sorry if I am explaining the obvious, it's a bad habit I have) Since emulators are supposed to mimic the consoles as good as they possibly can it's safe to say that Mupen does exactly what it's supposed to and crashes the ROM when you attempt a stick on B as adult. I watched Airplane! last night... What are the odds that you would use my favorite scene from that movie today in this topic? Enough with the offtopic now... This is why I would never connect a gaming console to the internet, maybe they should equip the next generation of consoles with security suites...

Totaled! / Crashed (USA title / EU title) Rumble Racing. Even though developed by quite well known companies they don't have a lot of love, which is odd because the games are fun if you give them a chance.
