Stylistic choices. He redid the overworld to change the few long pauses (very noticable and quite bad looking) into many smaller, unnoticable ones. It makes the run look a lot cleaner, smoother, and refined.
It's just a frame.
(Standard "when will netplay be in" question here)
Any idea when ZMV movies will be acceptable for publishing here? I'm just curious as that NTSC filter is looking damn fine.
Or if you're not feeling so adventerous to set up Apache, there's OmniHTTPd (which I use)
Note: It comes with PHP built-in (PHP4), so if you're really lazy, it's easier.

Load in your favorite NES emulator, sit back, grab some popcorn, and wonder what the holy hell is going on. 15 minutes, not made by me.
(This ROM was released as public (with source!). The only real copyrighted information in it is the graphics... eh. There is more information available, but it isn't much)
"Hm, I already made a initial ripoff of his avatar... I should try just making it as close as a clone as possible". So I did.
Besides, ripoffs are unoriginal and unfunny, so I accomplished my goal with this avatar idea.
It isn't a "stub", technically. It really is my homepage of sorts, made to replicate your own. (Cutting it out would be easy enough, since it's in the same spot on each image, but...)
disagreement -> general displeasure
agreement -> pleasure, amusement
matter-of-factly -> confusion (?)
So much for being mysterious, but you were generally correct (but a bit too specific; mine are more generalized)
Edit: Avatar is now flip/rotation-proof (although quite boring)
Judging from the way the site works (and how akward it is to find "truly good" rated submissions), I disagree. Many times judges wait or request for more input from the community.
A movie with 78 "Yes" votes is treated as equal to a movie with 13 "Yes" votes (generally), and given very little special attention minus maybe getting encoded first, based on what I've seen here.
Although perhaps I am wrong and you are right, but I was always under the impression that it was the community who assisted the judges in making the final decision.
That depends.
I was under the impression that this site was still based off of entertainment, in which case true publication qualifications would be if it is an entertaining movie.
Some people do not find glitchy movies entertaining and prefer full-game runs (like the full version of this game's movie). Therefore, these movies are not entertaining to them.
In this case, if I don't like boring sports games, I should simply not watch on them and vote? That's like saying that if you know a particular game is horribly boring you should not watch it at all instead of attempting to watch and deciding that you do not like it after all (and voting no).
If that was the case, a movie like Front Line would have one yes vote and no other votes because no one would watch it (because Front Line is boring), even if it beat the game in only a few seconds.
I can go on but I believe I've already proven my point.
Please remember that the text reads Did you like this movie?, not Should this movie be published?.
He did not enjoy the movie and so his vote is no.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions and I can definitely understand where he's coming from (no sense is being made in this movie).
It had only been 47 minutes (since this post was made) ... so of course there's few comments. It was submitted rather early for US-ers too (00:00-03:00, depending)
Damnit. Now I'm tempted to make a #11 that's just turned into a pile of ash.
I should just construct a table but leave the definitions as "???" until someone gets one, then fill it in. It'd be more amusing, at least.
I'm almost tempted to post my own ripoff Mood-o-table, but that wouldn't be any fun with confusing people as to what my ripoffs actually mean.
Hint: They're not all the same.
Don't we have a sig under the, you know, post?
Location and regdate give an at-a-glance view at how long someone's been registered and where they're from. Location can be a bit useless, but definitely not register date.
It also restricts you to only 1-8 + 13 (and has various names for each), which might not be what ours convey.
Also, whee for using my Bisqwit-avatar ripoff in new ways!
I feel that people who want to steal movies, will steal movies by simply re-encoding them from emulator movies.
Watermarks can be cropped away and obstruct the view for legitimate users.
Besides, nothing stops someone from stamping their own watermark or URL over the displayed information; we've already seen someone that stole the Araknoid (non-warped, old) run and shoved a URL below the paddle.
In short, you'd be obstructing the view for legitimate users, and the original problem remains unsolved.
I am against watermarks.
