If you had bothered to read the thread, you would've found that he doesn't want to do that, to keep the whole "Universal" feel.
Simply updating some memory addresses is infinitely easier than downloading the source of every emulator, adding functions and correctly placing them in the proper format fo rtht emulator, and then recompiling them for each OS.
Mario Adventure got deleted with a "clear consensus" (read: 7 of 21 said delete, I counted) of people against it.
Also a bad-faith nomination.
It seems like WP is quick to delete articles instead of just tagging them with "Needs verificioation" or "cleanup" or whatever...
(I will say, though, that this is making me want to become a vandal)
That room, as well as the one above it, are two of three (known) rooms left over from an earlier test version of the game (also note how the room at the top connects to the secret entrance outdoors)...
Disassembling, not decompiling. Large difference.
Knowing RAM values might be of some help, I guess. It'll lead to figuring out what things do faster, if nothing else.
Trash = actual trash (deleted files), WB800 = name of computer
it's habitual:
Trash Can 300 (defunct)
Wastebastet 800
Recycle Bin 1100 (defunct)
my names follow the schema "<garbage recepticle> <computer clock speed, in mhz>"
(of course, stop looking at my damn filenames, and don't you dare try and browse them)
133707> <Xkeeper> the RAM address range in DBB0-DC00 is ... weird
While watching your execution of the giltch, various areas would react and fill with values (usually 01-03) for no apparent reason after killing a monster.
(however, I need to go look up that 'points' system again -- someone had it figured out, but without it this is mostly me failing to find information)
More specifics would definitely be nice.
If you can replicate it, definitely try recording a movie of the whole thing.
(also, watch RAM address DBB5 -- monster death counter)
Response to a mid-reply post:
That wouldn't make much sense. The monster ticker (one of several possible, I didn't refine the search enough but the above works well) seems to be only at ~$58, no where near FF.
Hm...
Despite recieving four yes votes over a long period of time, instead of attempting to ignite discussion of this, you simply vote no and reject it based on your feelings of this movie, which is of extreme interest considering all feedback on this movie so far (minus desync issues, which have already been answered) has been positive.
(Please note that while I have had very slightly bitter feelings toward adelikat, this is more of a matter of a mishandled submission instead of a personal attack.)
203054> <&Acmlm_> except there's no "Magical Quest 2"
203127> <&Acmlm_> but apparently it could be "Great Circus Mystery Starring Mickey & Minnie, The (U).smc"
.... not that you want to watch it.

Slow, boring game. Bosses with unbelievably long invincibility. Lots of what appears to be unoptimized movement. Overall, this movie can be described in two words: "fast-forward."
Voting no.
(first appearance of the rate-o-bar!... edit: or not, screw you too bbcode >8( )
All the dying in this movie made me really go "What the hell?", especially given the plot of the game.
The end of the game left something to be desired ("Jump over wall and do nothing for a while, game over"), but at least that was another "How did he come up with this?" moment.
Not something I'm likely to watch again, but a good waste of ten minutes.
Attempting to hexedit the changes in resulted in a loss of luck (as expected, d'oh.) ... the time lost amounts to 4.6 seconds in total from the 4 times this animation plays.
I tested this game briefly and it seems that it is not necessary to WALK to the next level. Simply, pressing B in the level transition hallway moves you straight to the next level. That saves many seconds, right?
---
Edit:
2 frames can be saved before the game even starts. In the beginning you pressed START-IDLE-START, but START-B is 1 frame faster. Same goes for the game-mode selection screen where you pressed UP-IDLE-START, when it's faster to press UP-START.
I completed the game once and I must say it was not an easy task. The movie is actually quite good, but can be improved.
Frame counts, please?
Try waiting a few more frames when pushing Up-Start and you'll see why I didn't do that ;)

You'd think in all my years of playing this I might have realized this, but I suppose the fact that whenever I changed levels I attempted theivery never led me to experiment.

I'll check if hex-editing this in is possible; if not, I'll just let this submission go in favor of not redoing every level. Most of them went quite well and would be pretty difficult to reproduce.
