A game filled with nothing but boring auto-scrollers, even more boring bosses, and long "JORB WELL DONE" screens? Considering that most of the upgrades seem to be useless ("Rapid Fire" even though no boss I saw in the 40000 or so frames I could stand this game had short invincibility periods), you could/should've just dodged all the bonuses... That and I noticed a few playing mistakes (hitting walls when moving, etc) but they don't matter since this is a huge boring autoscroller. Voting no.

So that we can all come up with good standards to put into the new version. So far, I know we want checksums of the ROM to be stored...

Create a new format called "GMX", and leave plenty of space for new things to be added later, so that you can freely add new information to the GMX format as needed. (of course, maintain backwards compatibility with GMV if at all possible)

(Number of spambots IP banned using my method so far. Interesting how all of them appear to be from Asia/China, or at least using proxies from that region (sigh))

<div style='visibility: hidden;'><b>Homepage:</b><small> DO NOT FILL IN THIS FIELD. DOING SO WILL RESULT IN INSTANT IP-BAN.</small> - <INPUT TYPE=TEXT NAME=homepage SIZE=25 MAXLENGTH=255></div>
Problem is, spambots don't care about the fact it's invisible, and neither do they care that there's a huge warning. This works if it's placed on the registration page with nothing else (e.g. username/password/hidden field)... I use it at board.acmlm.org, and so far since implementation (12 hours ago) it's blocked 2 spambot attempts.

I used to play these game alot, and lately I checked out gunbound, they completely changed method of getting avatar, with the limited time which really suck. Does Silent Gunbound allow you keep avatar, or limited time avatar? *edit* armor -> Avatars
Since it uses Thor's Hammer and the "new" Gunbound is World Champion, yes, you can keep your avatar... and even if you couldn't, you have 999,999,999G, which is more than enough to buy them over and over.

i think he was going for tgm rules, not srs, xkeeper. although, the 7perm piece generator's probably closer to tgm's generator than pure random. the real thing i'd worry about is wall kicks. they're amazingly important in 20g, but this game lacks any such ability. and oh yeah, heh-- i kind of told rzstephen about this thing.
I could probably get more information on the TGM system, but the World generator (you call it '7perm') was just an obvious choice that's easy to remember and implement. And wall kicks? They'd be nice, sure, but they aren't required. (and I never cared about SRSvsTGM rules, I just think that the random number system sucked)

* FCEU-style dropdown boxes for locating movies. Requires auto-searching for matching checksum, as well. * Less cluttered menu style (Move the movie controls to their own menu) * Default to read-only checked * Allow read-only to be toggled during movie playback * Frame display instead of mm:ss:frames * Better font for displaying above (Ask Acmlm, I gave him a new one with A-Z and some other stuff to implement) And last, but most certainly not least: * NOT CHANGING SCREEN RESOLUTION ON START

GSS. Private-server Gunbound, all details on site. We usually play around the night time, though. You can IM me or catcvh me on AIM when you want to play, or just start your own games (with obvious titles, e.g. "Nesvideos room", maybe with a set password (like tasd) or something to keep out the masses of Brazillians (who aren't bad, but all they speak is portugese, and make no sense and usually spam) (also: ALWAYS PLAY SERVER 2)

by the way, I'm no expert so, could someone tell me why sometimes the ball glows red ?
That's the game's "brakes" feature. It slows down the movement/bouncing to a minimum, I believe.

Link broken. I wouldn't mind hiding the votes, but some movies don't even get 5 to begin with (I know of one that's been sitting in the queue for a while, too). What would we do then?

Upon further playing, I've decided that until the RNG is fixed, I'm not going to be playing this... Getting constant strings of ZSZSZSZ or starting a game with 5 Zs and 3 Os isn't fun or logical, and everyone I've asked from tetrisconcept (about 5 people) all agreed that the RNG really sucks. This particular clone relies on luck more than it does actual skill sometimes, and that's just unacceptable. People shouldn't lose because of something they can't control. I've already posted an alternative, much fairer RNG that's in the World guildelines set up by TTC. Just fix the (*#%ing thing already so that we all have a level playing ground.

After watching this a few times (thanks a lot, desync problems), I'm going to have to vote yes. There are noticable losses in speed in some places, but I was still throughly entertained throughout the movie in how close you came to hitting various things... that and I've never seen the end of this, even though I've played it many times :) Too bad the end is so bland. "Game over Score: xxxxxx". Oh well. (gotta love stage names like "Twist and shout", "Stayin' Alive" and "Rock & Rollin'", though.) I think using the current rating scale, this would get a 9 for entertaining and 4 for technical.

What people object against is that not *all* videos aim for speed. (Which means "1 video does not aim for speed".) Well, since all the other 315 videos do have speed as a goal, the solution to this "problem" is simple: Create a new "non-speed" category (or whatever you like to name it) and put that one video in it. We already have at least one special category for videos which do not comply to all the rules of the site: The "concept demos" category. I see no problem in adding a category for the few videos which do not aim at speed at all.
You imply that this (entertainment) would be another category for videos which don't comply with all rules of the site. Emphasis mine.
