Is it even possible to TAS any faster trough this game? I doubt. If it was possible, then only by some minor improvements. Impressive indeed!

I have a gut feeling that this pause glitch/hack/trick can be used in even more places, thus breaking the game even more.

Bumping after little over two years. :o

Did you mean an video file?
Exactly. After seeing the video, I highly suspect this could be the fastest way to TAS this game trough. It's "just" a matter of luck manipulating the hell out of the demo on the last stage. :P

Wait... So normally Knuckles needs to play trough Ice Cap Zone act. 2? Basically here the midboss and act clear screen is being skipped? Impressive!

I completed this game as a kid back in early 90's. I remember this game being somewhat strange, and, oh boy, it still is. Even stranger now. Those naked, chubby, guys... WTH... Your only real enemy in this game is time. I've always hated games like that. But being a Alex Kidd game I had to play it back then. And what's the plot in this game? It has something to do with the star signs... Well. It's a "lost stars" after all. I wonder if it's the same guy who did music on this game as well as for Fantasy Zone... The style of the music in some levels are quite similiar. Anyway. The TAS. I have to give "meh". And that's only because the repeat of the (almost) same stages twice. So it's more game's fault than anything else.

Whoa! Now I finally know how to get those two chests under the wooden platform. :P Anyway great zipping! While watching this run I remembered that I had accidentaly activated a glitch on the first ladders few times as a kid. I remember that jumping onto the ladders could possibly freeze the game. That's why I always avoided jumping on them. :P

You all know what they say about opinions: It's like a bunghole, everyone has one. So here comes one: Regarding the Wonder Boy III runs... There's something wrong with the current Vault mechanism, if runs that different can obsolote eachother. Other is any% and other is 100% bosses and no-warp. I'm not too familiar with the system used here so I won't suggest any fix. But obviously something should be done.

Looks like you completely destroyed this game. Deserves a 'yes' -vote.

Honestly, I do not see problems with the mentioned places.
It looked like there was too much time wasted on waiting the animals come out of the container (by not looking up). I may need to look the run again more accurately...

Nice new tricks! Yes -vote! But are you sure crouching at 00:55 is faster than to break one block? Or was that because of the red ninja under there?

Looks like Oil Ocean act. 2 ending was not optimized. Right? Also Metropolis Zone boss fight... When you start at that height couldn't you already hit the boss? Anyways. I give a yes -vote. Mainly for the jaw dropping Wing Fortress Zone. This was the first run I've seen that at least.

Yeah. This was quick and fun. Yes. But my eyes hurt because of the fps.
The game runs at 70 frames per second internally, but only refreshes the screen every other frame.
And because I watched youtube encoding, it's most likely badly re-encoded by youtube from 35fps to 30 fps.

Watching the encode... Looking good. I just hate hate those loading screens... This is one of the main reasons I stopped buying consoles after Sega Saturn disappointment. Is the emulator also that slow loading? I guess preloading the whole game into RAM would cause desync...

I don't know why, but I've always liked this game. There's _so_ many secrets in the game. There's usually some bonuses "outside" after completing a level. I don't see much room for improvements. Archanfel, did you use the super jump at any point? (Since I didn't watch all the levels completely.)

Wow. This topic didn't die. :o @Tee-N-Tee: That's a BizHawk demo file I guess? Can you possibly convert that into a movie file of some kind? I'm on Linux and I wouldn't want to go trough installing BizHawk hare. :E

Yay! It's always nice to see DOOM TAS. Yes vote. AS for the video - I don't know if it's possible, but a 3rd person view would be cool to see. Something like a camera view from above. Does any Doom port support different viewing angles when playing back demos?
