Very fun little movie here! But that first level, I swear I recognize that music from somewhere, and my detective skills are making me think Phantasy Star IV. BRB.
PS IV, correct. P.S.: Somebody, seed.

I've never played this game but I definitely give thumbs up for this run. Very clever usage of spikes to move faster and also the usage of some kind of charge attack to go trough almost whole screen at once. Using super bombs was pretty nice too. This game really has alot of secret places. Reminds me of James Pond 2... Good work! I can't point any places for improvement. Well I shouln't too, because I have no experience of this game. ;)

FODA, any news? I'd really want to see a TAS made of this game.

The run is insane. :D (just watching it). Musics are terrible. :E With SNES sound chips this is totally under the bar.

IMO, the GC controller is the best gamepad there is.
Well at least it looks ugly as sludge beast.

Okay, I never really got past the 2nd level in this game but I still want to see a run. Besides, seeing a game get broken almost more than Sonic 3 and Knuckles is always a good thing.
Sure, but I'd like to see glitchless run too. :)

I guess you don't need to know if you're using glitch warping but anyways: At Janken's castle most left side, the screen with water and spikes. You cannot die to the spikes that are above your head while you are under water and swimming straight forward. If you stop, you'll die instantly (If I remember correctly). Trying to stay between the spikes by keeping the height steady is way more difficult, but not a problem in case of tas. ;) I remember when I found this bug. After that this castle seemed to be way easy. :P BTW, I'd like to see glitch-warpless run of this game also. ;)

Balbaroy has to be promoted to handle the bigger weapons, and do enough damage. The broad/doom sword can't be equipped unpromoted.
And using items instead of attacking would consume even more time, I guess. Except if a spell kills more than one enemy. Like it was done in this TAS. :) But I still waited some Desoul in action. ;P BTW, what would be the fastest spell on just one enemy? Could it be cast by using an item? Could it kill the most strongest regular (non-boss) enemies?

I once chat with one guy who has made some really serious improvements on Linux Gens. I still have the sources here. You can try to contact him somehow. His nick was wah_wah_69. Here's some links to forum topics about this fork: - the most earliest forum post where he/she annouced his fork of gens (that I could find). - forum post were I was posting

Well maybe I wasn't that good player back then, but for example I managed to play trough Alex Kidd in Miracle World only twice. And R-Type (Master System) was so difficult that I couldn't finish it at all without cheats. Somehow I still don't categorize R-type as failed game because of it's difficulty. It gave me enough pleasure to even get to level 7 (If I remember this right...). But that's why it's even cooler to see speedruns of these hard games. Altough R-type speedrun wouldn't be that cool because its steady scrolling speed. Now this is going too much off-topic... I better finish this post now. ;)

I've played this game (trough) and it's better than it looks. Not the best platformer for Megadrive, but it's pretty good in the Disney category. I still can remember how angry I was few first times when I got game over in the coal cart stage, because I drove too fast and hit the pillar. The run is good. Taz itself would have played like this. ;) EDIT: Since there was so few seeders I'm setting rtorrent to ignore any limits on this one.

I've never actually played this game even I still own a Megadrive. Anyway really nice work. This game reminds me of James Pond II. A lot of secrets. But I think this is way more difficult to complete. Sad, because it would have been avoided just by modifying levels (telling developers to make levels a bit easier). Many platformers from 8- and 16-bit era have failed because of the too high difficulty. This is more common in 8-bit games. (Imho)

Certainly an excellent run, from an excellent group of TASers. I was a little bummed about the lack of 99 lives, but for the sake of time it is worth it. Yes it up!
Yes. I was waiting that 99 lifes... But last time I watched this the time was over 15mins, so I can "accept" the "shortage" of lifes. ;) Really nice improvement at last castle. If I could, I would vote yes. Instead I just clap my hands and jump around. ;\

I was so waiting to see some Bleu action, but you had to kill him. I don't remember too well this game. It's so long time since I played this last time, but isn't Bleu's critical attack quite efficient? And one improvement idea: How about not to promote... (cant remember the name)... the brown bird man? It seems that as unpromoted he does his attack more faster that as promoted.

This is one of those speedruns where ending takes longer than the game itself. 47% was where the last magic were cast. ;)
