It's a super short game either way, so it's no huge loss. I think the average completion time for the game was something like 6 hours, which is nothing for such a hyped up game.

Because the normal ending is a waste of time and doesn't fit the low%/any%/100% derivation that a lot of us, including myself, use. You'll still fight Phalanx 1 and 2, sure, and it only adds like 3 minutes of playtime, but that's not enough of an enteratinment gain per time lost.

No published run because any% would be pretty boring, and a lot of people have said that they wouldn't like to watch a 100% run.
That being said, I would have finished both versions if Hippogriff wasn't so hard to optimize. I have the perfected route and boss strategies mapped out already, so if anyone was interested, I can hand those off.

Make a savestate while watching the movie where you want to start over, then replay the movie in edit mode and load the save state.
If you're doing 100%, it's much faster to take damage at Holothurion and Phalanx2. However, if you're not working on a TAS, I guess it wouldn't matter. Any% skips the Buster.

Voting No. Too many unoptimized parts. Less boring stuff to watch, sure, but the parts that stayed are even more boring by nature than the last iterations. Even though I knew what you were doing for most of the time, I still didn't enjoy what was happening.

Voting Meh. I enjoyed the rampant headshots at first, but that was really repetetive. Also, it seems unoptimized at certain points, but I'm not willing to back that up with frame counts yet.

Well, I used Photoshop to magnify and sharpen the reflection in Samus' eyes, and...
Seriously, though, I highly doubt the Brawl developers and Sakurai are going to be putting anything so microscopically tell-tale in any of the updates. It's one thing that they put a few leading releases out as of late (Franklin Badge, and a handful of the stickers, for starters), but it's not going to be anything as retarded as what Chamale linked to.

I guess people will also post the image in some current circulation advertising that Brawl is available for pre-order now. Some dum bass designer for the ad put Sonic in with the group, not knowing that Sonic isn't (or hasn't been announced), and now some people are using that as "proof" that Sonic is there.
It's a pretty obvious flaw, though, because it has Samus' Prime model, rather than SSBB, and shows the Melee group art in the background.

I'd like to make the distinction that isn't a totally necessary tool, per se. It's a nice way to ensure that you're all caught up on the progress of things, but I'm still confident that anyone who has any sort of real investment in to the progression of a thread will go to the trouble of reading a few posts back in case they think they may have missed something.

As has been shown before, most people find SSB's 1P mode (note that it is not a "story" mode) uninteresting for lots of different reasons. Mainly, it's hard to make this game entertaining AND fast: the fastest techniques usually are very repetitive and the entertaining techniques usually take loads more time to pull off. There is no good balance between the two for this game, especially when you compare it to Mortal Kombat 2 or Street Fighter.
We, the Workbench denizens, have set a precedent that "pure-speed," "best score to frame count ratio" (laffo), and "highest kill count in 5 minutes" do not cut it as publishable on this site. Unless something huge happens where the game becomes magically more entertaining, I highly doubt that we will ever get an SSB 1P or Multi submission published.
Now, why doesn't anyone ever try to submit BTT or BTP movies? Those are at least palpable.

Now that you've told us that you're working on it, doesn't it spoil the gag for us? I say scrap it and stop actually trying to make April Fool's gags in general.

SomethingAwful recently implemented something like this, and the lead coder for the forums said it was a pretty big hassle for such a small benefit. There are a few Firefox Extension, called "_____ Last Read," that can be used whilst on forums to mark which responses you have loaded and which ones you haven't?
That being said, how hard is it to read the most recent portion of a thread before posting? I don't think I've ever seen someone say "sorry, I didn't see your post on the last page." That seems pretty lazy and almost inexcusable to me.

I'd rather have a historical archive of all activity. It helps people keep a chronicle of all that has happened for each user. Anything that rapidly deletes history seems pretty detrimental to a curious user.
After all, it's not such a huge burden on the system as is, right? A few MB of text, links, and images isn't so bad in the grand scheme of things.

Err, are the mechanics at all confusing and or complicated? If it's simply getting 100% kills/no misses/entertaining without any need for serious effort, I could help you out. Do yourself a favor and take in to account the last two sentences before responding.

As much as I like to think I like this game, this submission made an otherwise interesting RPG seem really boring. Aside from the fact that I fast forwarded through about 90% of the file, the tactics were pretty repetetive. While I can appreciate how quickly this completes the game, and how much effort went in to some of the more complicated things therein, I can't give this a Yes vote.
That being said, I'm giving this a Meh. I know full well that there will be tons of others to give this a Yes vote, though, so don't lose too much sleep. If and when this does get published, can we at least have some sort of subtitles to summarize what is going on and why certain things are being done (non-plot stuff, of course)?
