Well, AKA, I saw a lot of spots where you could have cut off a lot of time. I wouldn't be surprised if you could make this a sub15, if not sub10. I'll talk more about them later, when most people don't remember. Also, I'll probably change my mind at the last second about everything.

Reluctant yes vote, because "glitches suck" is the new fad.

Interesting glitch. A bit hard to follow, but it wasn't so hard that I couldn't appreciate it.

How much time do you gain/lose by fire-dashing through the shards as opposed to normally getting them? It seems like your little helper/retriever has to go some extra distance to fetch it for you.

It's just that I noticed the site is going in some direction where, originally, the author, Bisqwit, didn't intend to.
Oh? Do tell. Also, I await a response to my 'what would your homage to SMB3 be?' question.

Aside from on the front page and in Bisqwit's avatar, where do you see Megaman all the time? Keep in mind that we have Mario in the corner of the forums at all times.

Everyone??? They are veteran, for newcomers, i's not evident. And most newcomers did watched any SMB3 video. Is this also a good answer for you?
The image was made as a little homage, it's not like we are going to post it all over the internet to garner attention or anything. Furthermore, just because more people have seen your SMB3 movie doesn't logically mean that people should be making tribute images to that instead of anything else. No, that doesn't answer my question. What portion of SMB3 can be focused in to one animated image? I think The Kins did a good job of summarizing what tool-assistance can do with Megaman in a funny little image, but apparently you would like to see something different/better. What would your image be?

Erm, like I said, he used megaman because of the popularity of the technique. If you don't know what zipping is, and you can't tell from the image, I invite you to watch the Megaman 1 or 2 runs for ample examples of the technique. Everyone that has posted in this thread identified it fairly quickly, I would say. Is that good enough of a response to your question?

Why, what is memorable about SMB3 that can be contained in a simple tribute image?

Because the megaman zipping is probably the one of the few site-only tricks that everyone recognizes. That, and it's Bisqwit's trick.

Maybe you didn't notice, but the part of map with skyline and magma is separate from the rest. There's no scrollable bridge in between. At least I can't find one. (What's this doing in a SMW thread? Isn't this a Zelda map?)
I noticed. It's still a flaw in continuity, because what happens if we find a way to make Link fly and cross that border?

Nope: worship is default for anime fans. If they don't, they're ousted by the Otakus and the Glomp-Patrols at anime-cons for being not fucking weird. DUH. I still want 3 cheers for longshoremen; they keep America's ports safe and cozy with their multi-layered loading frames.

I would rather see a straight forward playthrough, and THEN have a platinum setting run. Two different runs, crammed in to one movie, I guess. We could have two movies: all golds and then all platinums. The only problem with this is that every non-carrier level will probably already have a platinum time. In conclusion, we either have a run where the gold standard is met, but no platinums have been earned, or we have someone play the game to the 'end', which is either beating the shuttle level or earning all platinums from scratch. I prefer the latter latter, since it's the most entertaining option without having to skip a lot of stuff.

This is the stupidest internet trend I've seen in a while. Seriously, though, "shipping"? Why don't they just call it "What if Hermoine totally fell in love with ____?" e: To reroute the topic: I LOVE LONGSHOREMEN! WOOOOO!

I think you're still faster than him. Not optimal, maybe, but still faster. I would say go ahead, but not too far in case I'm wrong. I mean, the first cycle is really short and simple either way, so it's not like you'll lose that much time if you have to redo it.

Depends on the screen. Everything is relative to the sensor, so a small TV will have you aiming at the wall behind it to hit the extreme points of the screen, while a huge TV might have you aiming closer to the center to get the extremes. Generally, though, it's all based on how comfortable you are with the concept of a bulky pointer: If you can't keep your hands calm enough, you can always take a step forward. Most people will probably start off with the gross approximation -> calculated correction technique until they become really comfortable with the game and controller set up. Some games will come with methods to counteract the loose controls of the wiimote (Red Steel has an aim-helping function).

Apparently, it needs a lot of room to be really comfortable with this controller (and also a firm grip). :)
Actually, I hear you don't really need to move it much at all to get desired effects. You can sit back and just move the wiimote right in front of you, rather than jump around and swing, and you'll still get the same effects.

From what I understand, the Wiimote is actually really really great once you get used to it. With the nunchuk addition to it, I've heard some people say it's better than most controllers out there. However, the controller doesn't make the system. Graphics are great and the games appear to be really fun. I wouldn't advise you to read any reviews on the games, since reviewers seem to be on a "let's bring next gen down a notch by giving them harsh reviews" binge lately. I think someone even gave Red Steel a 55%, even though the averages across the board are in the 80% range.

Oh btw, please don't post spoilers. Just a warning before anyone does!
Is there a spoiler function with this message board set up? Something that blacks out the words, and the only way to read them is to scroll over or highlight the text? I plan on buying a Wii sometime this week. Probably wednesday night, assuming they have any in stock around here. I didn't feel like waiting in any lines, and I'm not about to kill myself if I have to wait a little while before I get one.
