bunnyhopping But now that this is published, I cant really make a difference. Hope to see an improvement soon.
How can you bunnyhop in a 2D game? Anyway, if you want to see an improvement, why don't you employ the tricks that you already know of?

Holy megaboring. There wasn't any sort variety or difficulty or anything here, really. No vote.

I'd rather have neither, but that's not much of an option. It's up to the Workbench to discuss, I suppose.

Nice uses of glitching for a healthy improvement. Yessing this.

I don't mean to be rude in asking, but when should we be expecting a fully optimal run?
I mean, you could just copy/paste the majority of this run into a new run that uses up to date tricks if you really wanted. But that's besides the point...

I didn't find this all that interesting. Lots of not much going on. The GB version on the site is more than enough to represent the game, methinks. Meh vote.

It's really hard to tell if all the routes and planning were spot on, but as a first time viewer of this build of the game, it looks like there was a lot of planning and forethought either way. I was able to sit through the whole thing without any complaints. Consider this a weak Yes vote, I guess.

Map layout is totally dependent on the seed value the RNG assigns when the character is created. You can technically set the seed with a -seed value, thereby ensuring a map that you've pre-approved, but that then locks in the RNG for everything afterwards (damage, AR, drops, etc.)

Voting No on this one. Yeah, it's completed really quickly, but it just isn't that interesting/impressive/rewarding. It just seems more like this game is a big chore, rather than a fun time. Granted, I've never really liked the game's setup compared to, say, Spyro, but that doesn't change the fact that this didn't work for me. Chalk this up to bad game choice.

Yeah, it's really repetitive. Still, I think that and the uppercut are the only good attacks to use in 99% of the instances. I stopped watching after the halfway mark when I realized that it was going to be so similar to the NES run. It's not a bad run by any means, but there were a few spots that made me scratch my head, e.g at ~5;33, couldn't you lure the enemy to the left a bit and knock him off the cliff in one knee? All in all, it's a Meh leaning towards Yes. Two players independent would be cool, since at least the characters would do more than seemingly jump in stereo.

Anonymous No votes are just as easily ignored as anonymous Yes votes. Either way, the votes are more or less there to help the judge decipher what the community is leaning towards if the discussion itself doesn't have an evident representation.

I'm not much of a fan of glitch-heavy runs, but this is a nice improvement on an already good glitchy run. Yes vote.

This was really hard to get through, what with the horrible music and pacing and gameplay and diversity and color palette and repetition and general speed of everything. It really doesn't look like you can make this game entertaining to watch (or play, for that matter). No votin dis.

Got around to watching the encodes. The variety kicked this up to an 11 for me, and the pure speed was way more than I had expected. There is something for everyone here. Easiest Yes I've given in years.

Well, yeah, you know what I meant. Encoders have made me very lazy and complacent.

That this is only 28 minutes is pretty incredible. It's a testament to good RNG manipulation and great planning. That being said, I'm really looking forward to an encoder putting up a quick copy before xmas, lest I break down and reinstall VBA.

A very solid improvement. Maybe someone can find a way to speed this up somehow, but it's a no brainer either way. Yes.

This was simple, but in a nice and refreshing way. This is the kind of repetition that I can get behind. Yes.

Just watched the encode on a flight. Really impressive, albeit a little slow and repetitive. I was caught off guard on how simply each mission could be completed once you boiled down what was really necessary. Lots of cool strats. Yes vote.

Meh. It's really hard to tell when this is being played well and when the game is just holding you back. The glitches and game abuse is good, but the game is terrible and seems like it plays too loose for me to judge it with a high degree of certainty. Also, is the music really really bad, or was that just the encode skipping beats?

Cool glitch, good improvement. It sucks that so much time had to be spent in order to save that much time, but it's all good in the long run. At least this will shave lots of time off of any 100% rusn (presumably). Yes vote.

Why do two runs from two separate authors have such similar submission texts/markups? I'm just curious, I guess.

It's an improvement, and any time shaved on this game is well appreciated. Yes.

Alright, cool. The pacing and inventiveness of the game totally make up for any other boredom, and there is a lot of variety otherwise. Giving this a solid Yes on my part.

Few questions: Why is a pizza delivery boy killing cats? And the Mafia? And a Zombie Dog? SUSPENSION OF DISBELIEF IS IMPORTANT! Why is it that you can't reach the spring at the end of the second level? It looks like the bounce height is the same on both jumps. Are all of the conveyor belts you jump over in the third stage working against you, or can you ride more of them? Does jumping off of the key platform cost a frame? Everything else was really straightforward. Just waiting for a response, I suppose.

You're right: you have no leet gamer skills either way, so it's going to be boring regardless. Give up and kill yourself, I suppose? GO SUPER MEGA SARCASM ALERT GO. Seriously, I don't know how to respond to that reaction. The submission really is boiled down to just running and shooting. Yeah, you could say that SMB gets boiled down to just running and jumping, but at least those two inputs lead to multiple scenarios that produce entertainment. Be glad I didn't vote No and don't be so defensive.
