"Platinum Barrios" were thrown around a lot in IRC. We all unanimously agreed on it, and then freenode crashed, so no one has chat logs or remembers it too clearly. Needless to say, we all agreed on it.

Most clown colleges are too expensive to attend for anything above a Bachelors of Science. I still stand by the Platinum Fabian Dumptruck Ghetto Runs.

We are trying to move forward here, people. You can't usher in a new era if you're stuck in the past.

Can we just call them ◘ runs? It's so mysterious that even I don't know what it means

It's very simple. Follow me here... Step 1: Idenfiy the problem. >>>TAS is a vague term. No one knows that it stands for Tool Assisted Snakesonaplane. Step 2: Solve the problem. >>>Change the name of the runs to "Fabians" or "Platinum Barrios", shifting the focus of the site towards entertainment and away from recent Samuel L Jackson movies.

Is a "Fabian" a "Platinum Barrio"?

A "Platinum Barrio" is a movie made using emulator tools like slowdown and rerecords. Also, a platinum barrio would be a spanish ghetto/slum made entirely of an expensive metal. This is win-win!

There's no point in this discussion... We use modified emus and other stuff to make the movies - Tool-assisted Although they're fast, our target is entertaining, not speed - speedruns (not time attacks) So, there's no reason to change the definition...
Welcome to the off topic forums! If we don't focus on speed, then logic permits that we don't call our movies 'speedruns'. Also, it seems that there are more people that dislike the term "TAS" rather than those who like it. Those who like it are too weak to accept NATE runs into their lives. edit: This isn't to bother Nate; if anything, it is to glorify him. Oh well. @Fabian: A person that makes a Fabian is a Fabersaurus.

If you're a person who makes Fabians, you don't belong to this site. This site is for NATE runners only!

Fabian: I don't get it. Are we supposed to stay on topic and talk about renaming TAS movies as NATE runs or not? JXQ: So you fiddle with your Fabian in your spare time?

That sounds terrible. "tass" is even more painful on these delicate ears than "T A S" ever could be.

Little did you know, Fabians are so last week. The new thing on the streets is the unstoppable train known as the NATE runs. Telegram for Fabian: you got served stop

TAS is a three syllable phrase that connotes a focus on speed. We don't focus entirely on speed, but entertainment, and so the term is useless and misguided. NATE is a one syllable word that is both personifiable and easy to toss around. Also, the acronym works better than some of the ideas being tossed around here. PS: "Fabians" is a terrible name for these runs. We want to express a feeling of excellence, not noobitude :p

What I was getting at was that he used an obscure ROM, one that wasn't identified by snes9x.

I'm getting desynchs with Tiny Toons Adventures - Buster Busts Loose (U) [!] and (U) [t1] ROMs. Is there a reason that you chose the ROM you did? Also, why was the ROM's checksum not recorded by snes9x? Along with this, you ended the first screen of the game with more than 0 dash power, which means that you missed out on possible dashing time. You also did a few random skids that made no sense on the first book shelf; does a rat pop out of the first shelf? I then got a desynch at the elevator, both ROMs.

That isn't how this site times the runs. It is all inclusive, and so if you were to actually attempt a segmented run, the total time would include every frame of ROM start up/title screen/slot select/loading/etc.
