Hi. I love this game and follow TKDL on twitter. It seems like your times are actually all slower or equal to TKDL's best? For example, their record for F11 is 4:56.00 https://onedrive.live.com/?id=889B1157913CBFE3%21282&cid=889B1157913CBFE3&group=0&parId=889B1157913CBFE3%21143&o=OneUp I apologize if I'm mistaken!
Couldn't have mentioned this a bit sooner? No offence of course, but if this was mentioned before publication then it could have been implemented without creating another submission. Also, is there links to TKDL's umihara records? Those would be extremely helpful for runners in the future so this sort of deal doesn't happen again.

[2823] SNES Umihara Kawase "sightseeing" by Alyosha, ars4326 & Samsara in 11:44.77 is an excellent example of being a unique game that's fast, and also entertaining. Its rating is also quite fair, so why not a Star? Edit: How about [2835] NES Super Mario Bros. 3 "all levels" by Lord_Tom & Tompa in 1:04:36.90 ? I know the any% already has a Star, but this is neato.

I was wondering, since the Tinkerbat form in GBA only lets you climb walls like the spider, couldn't it theoretically be used to skip the entire third dungeon in an any% TAS?
The game prevents sequence breaking by just locking the next town. So you have to do all the dungeons in order.

Ok enough of this. Stop derailing the thread because you decided to throw a hissy fit ego fest. Nobody cares. In terms of the movie, I'd say it's short enough to stay entertaining. I didn't mention that before, so Yes vote.

Looking good so far! Keep it up! I'm curious about the money routing. There's a few expensive items to buy; is there enough money along the way that you don't have to specifically stop to grind? Have you figured out how long grinding via the dancing minigame takes? Presumably that would act as a sort of floor -- any money that takes longer to get than you can get by doing the minigame is definitely not worth going out of your way to get. But I'm guessing the minigame is probably a pretty slow way to get cash.
There's a bit of grinding before I get to Gecko Racing, which is the fastest way to get gems regardless of farming. The amount I get is just to reduce the amount of times I need to Gecko Race by one or two times, which is mostly done en route anyway. Speaking of which: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXcwTnfNT5U

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=naK94KJorf0 Working on this, finally. Not too different from the any% route so far, but that'll change. 100% is defined as all dances, all items. This includes the Tinkerbat transformation, which is only available in GBA mode. Specific routing changes that relate to any% include: -Lag reduction via hair whipping. My guess is that it freezes Shantae's sprite and makes it less CPU intensive or something. -Stopping at the edge of a ledge lets Shantae fall 1 frame faster. This can also be used to crouch and jump out of said crouch. Saves a bit of time everywhere. -Two minibosses before the eye boss are killed slightly differently. Saves on lag. -The eye boss can be prevented from spinning if you time your attacks right. Saves a ton of time.

The problem is that we already explained to you that you were wrong, and you continue to argue as if we didn't just explain to you. It's all right to want to help, but seriously just stop. You've derailed this topic enough.

So basically, a TASer alone can’t do shit.
Sorry, I still don't understand this logic. If you've TASed a game, naturally that means you understand the route, understand what makes the game tick, and generally get how the game works. Like, I understand not knowing about a trick or whatever, but saying a TASer alone can't do something is silly. Many TASers pick up random games, games that have no outside speedruns or, and optimize them by learning about them themselves. For an example, [2698] DS Kingdom Hearts Re:coded by arandomgameTASer in 1:41:02.94 completely turned the RTA route for Re:coded on its head, as I discovered a huge plethora of route changes and optimization to apply to RTA, many of which weren't even known about at the time. I figured that all out by myself. So the logic that one single person can't do it is just odd to me.

Way to act extremely childish. I fail to see how a TASer, a person who spends hours upon hours trying to improve a single frame, would NOT KNOW what the hell he's doing. Hell, you spent YEARS working on SM64DS. MULTIPLE TIMES. Spending hours improving an existing run. You can't say you don't know shit about it after all that time, can you? I get wanting to know if something is unoptimal or not, but when multiple people are saying that it is NOT unoptimal, and you continue to argue as if we did not just freaking tell you that, there's a huge fucking problem right there. Like I said, stop pretending you understand what you're talking about.

Are you serious? Like, are you really being serious right now? The guy who's TASing the game, finding frameperfect tricks, including a trick that requires a 2-3 frame window, a guy who has already TASed this game before, knows nothing about the game? Stop pretending you understand this game. It's very clear that you have no idea what you're talking about, and yet you continue to argue. If you're going to bother contacting 'experts' on a dash, why don't you just check it yourself? Should take about 2 seconds and one look to do that.

It would require someone who knows anything about the game unlike us to know if it’s possible to bypass the dash.

The improvement doesn’t need to come from me, a Tekken pro would be able to verify whether the TAS is optimal or not within 2 seconds and 1 word. I’d just like to hear the word of a pro.
You want a Tekken pro to check a 2-3 frame TAS only strategy?

I thought he was doing it in 3 frames. Also, he’s doing a dash together with the move, and that doesn’t look like something that should be necessary to do. If it were possible to bypass the dash and just do the move, that’d be tons faster.
Just a question, have you actually played this game? Because it would seem like Spikestuff would have tested that, considering how he's TASed it multiple times.
ALAKTORN wrote:
Also I’m just saying to contact some Tekken pros. Doing any TAS without contacting the pro community of the game is fucking stupid, doesn’t matter if you’ve perfected it already.
Depends on the game. For most, you can just watch a speedrun of it and figure it out yourself. It's how I discovered nearly every trick in Shantae for example.

http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/25133390143383472 this is done on Bizhawk, btw. Luckily debug mode is a thing. Just hit select + A to have Shantae land from flying, then you can just transform into the Harpy and test around.

Link to video Cracked the invincibility glitch from a while ago. Basically jump at a specific angle into a cactus and it activates. It's useless for any%, but might be useful for 100%.
