I just noticed that snes9x 1.52 has been released; how hard would it be to shift the work on snes9x-rr 1.51 into an snes9x-rr 1.52 build? I noticed that the newest version doesn't recognize savestates from older versions, so the architecture may be wildly different...

download the source code and look inside; a .sln file implies Visual Studio

I think you play the run in read-write mode until the point you want to start improving, then pause the emulator (different from pausing the game), make a savestate, load it, and start recording

1.99.3 runs fine, but you do need to provide a path to the ROM and you need to start it from a command prompt: http://code.google.com/p/mupen64plus/downloads/list

Jimmy Y from Glen Waverly Secondary College had been putting up posters all week for the upcoming Equal Love Rally , a gay protest for equal rights in Victoria on November 28. According to Jimmy the posters kept getting ripped down. The culprit was finally caught in the school library, and found to be a teacher. When confronted about posters, the teacher (whose real name is ironically Mr Right) turned around and shouted at the student, “Faggot Kid! You don’t know what real marriage is!

So basically, you're complaining that monsters that pose no threat whatsoever to your characters don't give any experience, and that the game doesn't let you achieve as ridiculous of a level as you'd like to? If you want a number-porn RPG, play Disgaea. It'll let you level all the way up to 9999.
the only number porn I enjoy is 69

What's wrong with having an experience point system that's different from all the others?
nothing what's wrong is making certain enemies not give up any experience at all after a certain level it makes it really hard to max out levels in that game, I would end up chasing after Amazy Dayzees all day because it's one of the few characters you can keep fighting that gives experience all the way to Level 27 oh and another thing that sucks about that game (and SMRPG) is the low level cap

Star points are what you get after the end of each battle. Star peices and points are two different things.
I hate the star-points system (experience points in most games) because eventually you can't get any experience at all from some enemies (most RPGs provide a consistent amount of experience per enemy and increase the experience required to attain each successive level, while in Paper Mario 100 experience points are needed per level, and the amount of experience per enemy decreases with each successive level, much like in the Shining Force series except that in Paper Mario the experience per enemy can go all the way down to 0).

Just use an IPS patcher to patch the ROM (make a copy of your ROM first); I use Lunar IPS: http://fusoya.eludevisibility.org/projects.html There's probably a patcher available if you don't use Windows.

Star Bits come from the Galaxy series, where Mario gets an extra life for every 50 collected; I think RinKaenbyou meant Star Pieces, which are very difficult to find in total and can be traded for badges (all pieces must be collected in order to get all of the badges).

but Windows Live Messenger does not work with the AIM network btw neither Pidgin nor Miranda allows this also IMO the classic AIM is shut out because of security vulnerabilities that have since been fixed; I also remember it being riddled with spyware and then I migrated to Miranda and Pidgin, two free multi-protocol chat clients

I didn't realize that you could enter the branches from any direction; that certainly makes some levels easier...
