If adelikat is willing to transfer the domain, tasvideos.org works well (because they are still tool-assisted) another good one is emuvideos.org or if WebNations is cool with it, a subdomain of speedruns.net

Look back at how far back the thread has gone; it's not an April Fool's joke, it's a case of pedantry making the perfect the enemy of the excellent. FWIW I am willing to donate $20 per month, possibly more (especially if my income rises), toward keeping this site or a successor site running.

try using the AVI Capture *and* sndrec32 or your favorite audio recorder at the same time, and then combine them using After Effects or something

The only good thing about MS Works is being able to open files that some jerkoff sends to you in the proprietary Works format (open-source implementations are incomplete), but I believe Microsoft even makes available a converter for that.

Keep it to one thread per game; there is a perfectly good thread right here: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=456&start=260

so sorry for bringing this up.... again... um, is anyone currently working on a 70 star run of this game? maybe someone could tell me if a 70 star TAS exists.. thanks!
I guess it didn't appear interesting enough to TAS until the 16-star strategy was discovered.

It's a lot easier to set up a certain directory on your physical machine as a "shared network directory" on your virtual machine.

it comes from "warau" (laugh; IIRC Japanese verbs are not conjugated, so it could also mean "I laugh" in this context) so "wwww" basically means "lolololol"

that's a soft G, although for a long time I thought it had a hard G, as in golf

Technically only the ones that get pronounced as words are acronyms, while the ones pronounced as successive letter-names are initialisms; IMO the only acronyms on the list are FAQ and GUI, although both were initially initialisms.

Myself and another guy on GameFAQs found that the commentary had sync issues with the encode; anyone else have issues like this?
I haven't seen the encode, but I watched the run with emulator while your mp3 was playing on the background. The commentary seemed to be playing slightly faster than the movie, so I had to occasionally speed up the emulator to catch up with the commentary.
I had a similar issue trying to sync it with the YouTube video; I had to pause the MP3 so that the video could catch up.

It turns out the end of the ability to get along with XP is coming near; Pivot doesn't work in XP, although it does work in Vista and Windows 7 is recommended: http://www.getpivot.com/download/

I just need to warn you: If you get a netbook, you should also get a USB DVD drive, or else you won't be able to re-partition and install Ubuntu.

IIRC the executable comes with some other files so it will need to be packaged up somehow, possibly as a .zip I just finished reading up on the .deb format, so you could just use "ar -x fceux_r1699.deb" and then use your preferred method to extract the data from data.tar.gz, which turns out to indicate that fceux will be installed into /usr/local/bin/ with a shit-ton of Lua scripts and palette files in /usr/local/share/fceux/ in other news, I tested this all on Windows, I love GnuWin32

Well, maybe an encode will be enough to motivate others to watch this... http://www.archive.org/download/DragonWarrior3ItemGlitchIn4828.08ByDavedfwm/dragonwarrior3-tasv2-glitched-davedfwm.mp4 Stream it here: http://www.zexsoft.com/aktan/?DragonWarrior3ItemGlitchIn4828.08ByDavedfwm/dragonwarrior3-tasv2-glitched-davedfwm
I'm not sure whether you realize this, but archive.org makes streaming versions available automatically; remove that filename from the end of the URL, change "download" to "details" and voilà: http://www.archive.org/details/DragonWarrior3ItemGlitchIn4828.08ByDavedfwm/
