Every life is equally valuable.
Ehh I don't think I disagree. I'm assuming you mean human life but humans are not equally strong or equally intelligent or equally successful. It's hard to think of any valid metric where all people come out equal so how can we say people are equally important? What if the question were flipped around and you had to decide who lives as opposed to who dies. Say a meteor is falling and there is only room in the fallout shelter for 1 more person, do you give it to the doctor or the drug addict? People who hold onto all life as equally valid can make irrational decisions, such as equating the life of a person to a clump of undifferentiated cells.

Great job guys! Way to obliterate the 5:30 barrier! It's nice to be able to spot improvements with the naked eye :)

It is mentioned in a topic with one frame save in DDD skip. However, I was as follows in my environment. input frame (frame of time) Mario in the first floor under the ground moves. -new: 4086(8498) -in 05:33.85:4156(8640). Mario entering the hole is fade-out -new: 4264(8854) -in 05:33.851:4334(8996). Mario in Bowser in the Fire Sea moves -new: 4307(8973) -in 05:33.85:4377(9115). ... why?
Hmm those numbers make it look like there was no improvement there... well as long as its not slower I don't mind :)

Why is it that Google Chrome has been out for a day and has 5.8 million hits while Google Ad Manager has been out since March and has 430,000. Bunch of crap.

I would argue that Bowser survives the first 2 battles as he comes back for the third encounter. ... Actually he is clearly alive in later games so he never dies in the same way as say a goomba does... Also I'm not sure how to count his transformation into Dry Bowser after falling into the lava in NSMB.

To be fair there aren't any "support" forums. Maybe there should be.

Hey Bisqwit. It was fun meeting you :) It's definitely surreal to put a face on the various avatars I am used to dealing with. Good luck on getting the Conan tickets. If there are any other peeps here in NYC we should have another get together :)

Glad to see that opening the moat door would be beneficial :) It was pretty clear that the stars are all stored in one large bitfield and its good to have confirmation the keys are too. Really I can't imagine that door opening unless you can either fool the game into thinking you are not in water or figure out how to open it from a distance. I agree with the earlier idea of hoping for a 1 frame window in which to open the door when entering water. You would need to build enough speed to get to the door and open it in 1 frame before the game realizes you are underwater... I would think though that would require fast vertical movement since the water is a large plane... I don't think there is a known way to do that. Hmmm.. actually I think the water might be sectioned off into a couple planes since I remember a break in the texture animation between the pond area and the moat. Maybe there is a seam there you can sneak through? Actually has anyone found a way to walk around beneath the castle (under ground)? That sounds vaguely familiar... though I might be thinking of an SM64 Quake 3 level I played a few times.

Does anyone even know if the keys are actually stored in separate memory locations? It seems very possible that getting a key increments a key count and the lobby key door requires having 2 keys rather than having a specific key. This can be tested by hacking into BitFS before BitDW and seeing if you can open the lobby key door. If this is the case that moat door is worthless and the only chance is to magically glitch the lobby key door into opening.

Ehh... the AI isnt that bad. If you practice at time trials and are able to unlock mii outfit b the single player is pretty easy (though getting 3 stars in everything is still a bit difficult / time consuming). Once you can complete races without falling off the track / bumping walls the single player won't be any problem at all. Really if it wasnt for the blue shell winning would be very easy. Lightning / POW affect everyone so getting hit by them while in first doesnt harm you relatively. Stars/big mushrooms/bullets rarely reach the front and is more of a hazard for the people in the middle. While in 1st you are mostly only targeted by 2nd and 3rd and they just get shells and the occasional mushroom. Meanwhile every item you get but the fake box is draggable and capable of defending against shells. 1st place would be very easy to defend if it wasnt for blue shells.

Great work Mr! Everytime I think this movie has become optimal I get proven wrong :) As for the input animation in the AVI... it's small size does not obscure the gameplay and it easily identifies the gameplay as coming from an emulator. I don't really see a demand for the video without the input... if you want you can alway place another window in from of the video to obscure that small section.

I don't know about everyone but I really enjoyed the new site :) I couldnt quite make out the directions for the keyboard shortcuts but would definitely appreciate shortcuts incorporated into the site. I noticed the player was some version of the youtube player and assumed you hosted the audio there... digging around a bit though I couldnt find the corresponding youtube vid and was confused :) Overall a great effort! I tend to load pages in background tabs and it took me a while to find the source of that speaking :)

This is obvious but we might as well have a central place to track this problem. Images / CSS for the forum are currently hosted at http://bisqbot.stc.cx/ which is no longer available. Checking that site it appears as if the domain may have expired. Bisqwit any luck on moving the images to another host or reclaiming the old domain?

"2-player" "3-player" etc seems unambiguous as I don't think people would confuse it with multiple authors. 2-player has a specific meaning in game advertising. Besides, the number of authors should be apparent in the entry's title.

I believe God had a place in society maybe a few hundred years ago. I am not convinced that belief has been of any use in recent times though. Some would argue that the threat of a vengeful God reigns in people's destructive tendencies but the most peaceful societies in the world are among the least religious. In modern times, religion seems often abused to either increase political power or effect an idealogical cause.

Do arcade games count? I'm going to put my vote in for Stage 3 in Time Crisis 2 (sub area 2 if I need to be more specific). That whole stage is so exciting with all the boss fights, enemies, and even the helicopters. Stringing the enemies together is just so enjoyable. This is one of those games I've played many times though and can beat without taking a hit. No matter how many times I play it, it is a very good stress reliever.

Heh, yeah I found it funny how the bot completely missed a good shot of the 'zero suit' segment of the game yet was kind enough to take a pic of samus's ass.
