Wait I'm confused... who's the new character? Did you mean Diddy?

You're just not thinking fourth dimensionally :P Besides, future historians will interpret the vote as an approval rating of the run, in complement to the movie rating.

I think I will abstain from voting. I dont know all that much about the game but the tracks seemed well played. I found myself only watching them once though. Seeing 20 tracks 3 times each with 3 laps ech time was too much for me. Anyway congrats on the longest N64 run!

Bomberman actually does seem pretty likely when you consider there was already a crossover between Bomberman and Wario

I think I remember something about a really awesome carrot ship that shot out bananas? The logo was really cool with the odd symmetry :)

Maybe a no-BLJ-in-the-overworld run? That is I guess more arbitrary than no-BLJ but it will still mean getting 70 stars to beat the game (probably). In other news I found a new small glitch: mario faces the wrong way for part of the butt-stomp during a cartwheel jump! Surely thats almost as exploitable as the lobby glitch?

I agree with DeHacked. The image is fake but I think it highly likely that Sonic is in. Nintendo and Sega are very friendly to eachother these days as evidenced by that future Mario and Sonic game. Nintendo also said there will be 1-2 third party characters outside of Snake. Nintendo did take fan requests for third party characters and said in an interview that Sonic was #1 request. If I were to bet on future third party characters it would be : 1) Sonic 2) Bomberman 3) Ryu in that order BTW: I found the official picture here http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/modea/images/modea02/modea02_070803j-l.jpg

11 years. That's how long it took for this amazing accomplishment to happen. Great work. I think I'm about to cry.

Still though, if it can be imitated it can be learned. That makes it pretty unmagical to me.

Morimoto SMB3 on fark.com ... after that I think I might have googled my way here seeing if he did anything else? Its kinda a blur. I've remained a permanent lurker ever since.

I kinda liked it. With a feel of the attractors/repellers you can do it in fewer guesses. I dont like the stages where pixel precision is necessary though. Finding multiple solutions tho was fun. I think a continuous stream of bullets thats you have to direct might be a good idea... would certainly take away from the timing levels. None of the levels needed very creative solutions. I would have liked it if it was less obvious what you have to do.

There was also one where it asks you to find a backdoor around 2 repellers. You can just put a repeller behind the gun to speed up the bulled and power straight through between them.

After a few attempts I discovered a 3-repeller solution for lvl 50 that I believe is minimal. Though 2 -repeller might be possible with some good timing. http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/8360/podsko0.png This was my first attempt

Is anyone else bothered by Shredder's hand sticking out of the TV as much as I am?

Who said anything about "no powerups?" It's a "small" run, which entitles them to do whatever they want so long as Mario is small.
I believe the tag at the beginning of the movie specifies something like "maximum completion with no powerups" but now I see that the submission specifies 'small only'... hmmm.

First I need to say that I'm a little miffed by the collection of a star and the balloons. I don't see how those aren't powerups. Do you think they dont count because the abilities are temporary? Actually can the star in sunken ghostship be avoided? OK now having said that I am amazed by the rest :) Definitely alot of crazy moments in there which have already been mentioned. I have to agree that this video is VERY tight.

I think instead of a strict histogram maybe you maybe should try a convolution where you weight each item based off a bell curve. (Basically like a moving average) Histograms with sparse data have the problem where you can get very different shapes with small changes in the data.

Man who the hell uses a digicam to take a video of a crt. So painful to watch that for 2 seconds. If you cant be assed to use a vcr, video capture card, or frapps you shouldnt bother.

Ive been giving it some thought and I think the publishability of this movie depends on the audience. SM64 fans (and there are lots) will love this as it is a classic challenge. However I can see how more casual fans won't see it in great light. To tell the truth I think only 3ish stars are vastly different than their 120/16 star counterparts (Pyramid Puzzle, chuckya, and the Rainbow one). I actually regret that you didnt skip 1-up mushrooms too while you were at it (maybe the shell as well). Also on the chuckya glitch, how easy is it to manipulate the object chuckya morphs into? Is it a function of the time or position you cross the loading zone? I'd be surprized if you can't collect that on the first try. Now that I thought about it more I think this might be more deserving of a "Meh". This does fit the category of completes game as much as possible with minimalist equipment.

I vote to get them. They arent terribly out of the way. I forget is it possible to get every coin in the wing cap stage? I know there was a competition on gamefaqs for it but I dont remember if anyone ever grabbed them all.
