Try downloading the .m64 from a previous submission that doesn't use "the TAS way" and look at the inputs in frame advance.

I love this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gGBUwhMiTI&feature=related If it were longer, and had an MP3, I'd love it forever.
I searched nicovideo for the description text, and found it (except, you know, higher quality sound), so I went to nicosound and requested it to be made into an mp3. I doubt a full version will be made anytime soon so this is the best you'll get :) Go to http://nicosound.dip.jp/sound/sm1398453 and click on the link at the very bottom-left of the page, next to the play arrow, to download it.

Good thing this is a thread about fun GBA runs...?

A any % run means that you run though the world with the minimum number of exits and defeat all the koopalings.
You keep using "any %"... I do not think it means what you think it means.

Re #7: Super Mario world has an any% TAS. And the 2-player idea has been tossed around but ultimately there is no difference between the characters, and the added fadeout for character switches, and extra character movemement in the overworld would only make things slower. (even if going for 100%)

you should set it up so that it downloads the mkv files instead of trying to view it as a page.. now it requires using 'save as' which is sort of annoying. thanks for supplying these videos though =)
If you click the icon of the file instead of its name, it tries to download it I think. I don't even know php, I just got the first php-directories-listing script google gave me. If you want to tell me how to fix it, I'd be glad to. :) P.S. My browser doesn't try to open mkv files as a page because that's just silly in the first place. :v LATE EDIT: The script has a $forcedownload variable with default false, but I don't want it to be true because I want images, html, php, txt and other files that are cool with browsers to NOT be forcedownloaded. Seriously a right click is a small price to pay. Maybe you can change the settings in your browser? Either way, I will change the index.php to use your code if you have a way for it to only force-download audio/video files.

I've had a dedicated server for a while as a seedbox but I went ahead and put apache on it to make managing my encodes easier for this site. Anyway, infiltration is up, and I'll just add files every time I make em. first 3 levels are in the larger file with a date. http://bkdj.net/index.php?dir=tas/pd

He means can YOU do a no-warps run that never presses B. Others have tried but there's one world (was it 5-1? 5-3?) that has an impossibly large jump with no nearby helpful enemies. No walljumps possible because it's a mushroom world where all platforms are only 1 block high.

Hmm, so your goals are a) never collect anything that would allow you to take damage b) complete each level using sonic's route as much as possible because gliding over the entire thing is boring I don't know how b will fly on the workbench, but I was entertained, and it's fast, so keep up the good work :)

Please use Megaupload instead. it allows 250 MB..
This is getting pretty off-topic, but I doubt I'll use megaupload. It allows 500MB, actually, but it's full of ads, and is really slow. Or maybe I will. *shrug* Whatever the case, it's not important for now. And the "edit" button is there so you don't have to make 2 posts if you forgot something.

Or compress (read: store) it using a format that can split the resulting archive into multiple parts. WinRAR can do this, and probably many others. If you're worried about forcing people to get a decompression tool, just make it a self-extracting archive.
No, please, don't do that.
Well I was planning on making a video from poweron to like the 2nd or 3rd adult temple (when that WIP is made) cutting out all the cutscenes over 20 seconds. In the event that it is larger than 100MB, I'll just use linked mkv files. i.e. they can be played separately, but if all the files are there, opening the first will play all of them. Or something. But don't worry I won't use split archives.

Is anybody currently TASing this game? It could make a good one if you include enough action.
After the rejected submissions, I thought it was agreed that you can either make an entertaining run with arbitrary goals or a boring run with logical goals and so no one is bothering...

The text in this run isn't so important and even though I haven't played the game it can be accurately be interpretted "Link, get out of bed someone is causing trouble better equip yourself" "You got a sword" "names of places in pause screen" "Well done Link thank you for saving the kingdom"
well he got 2 out of 4 right though this is a pretty good game, you not big into zelda?
the point was, it's a glitched zelda game which involves waking up, getting a minimum of items, and then getting to the credits as fast as possible. There is no story to follow except the submission text, which is not in pixelated hiragana so I don't know what the big deal is.

Damn it, 113MB is more than mediafire allows per file. Had to make a lower quality file, which is why it took so long. Also sound desyncs slightly after the reset... I forgot this game did that. Nothing major. Latest progress, 18 minutes, 43MB

How do you view this?
My strategy: antids version of mupen, direct64 video plugin, tas input with mempack, watch from beginning with no fooling around with states. Fastforward is fine though. I never got your desync, but if I try to save and load anywhere, it will desync when he leaves goron city and tries sidehopping towards where he jumps off into dodongo's cavern. (Sidehops will be messed up and he will then have fun running around rocks and blowing up his face).

Yay new WIP. Child segment is finished. Last WIP was entering Hyrule Castle... I think i've gotten much more precise but tell me what you all think and suggestions/comments would be awesome
0) Man, I'm kinda used to the low-health beep by now but I would love for someone to romhack and change the sound into silence. 1) Pre-jabu-jabu stuff all seemed excellent 2) I liked the antics while waiting for the elevator, but I'm surprised you didn't superslide with a delayed princess pickup... unless you did and I missed it. ... actually if you can do it with the princess as easily as with a cucoo, I'm surprised there wasn't a single spot int he dungeon where it would save time. Did you look into this? You were only a few frames away from more bombs at the grass patch, too. (One spot I was thinking it could save time was the straight path you take around frame 195400) 3) Sweet stunts in the boomerang room and in general. Also I don't think I've seen that room-before-barinade strat before... cool. And very fast fight. 4) all in all: awesome! edit: I'll make a video file starting from when he leaves hyrule castle since before then it's par for the course and full of cutscenes and I'm lazy.

I just realized something. Did anyone ever try to modify the rupee route so that you can equip the sword and the shield on the same pause screen?
Wouldn't that be pointless at this stage though, since anyone wanting to start a run NOW would want to use okaygo's softhack to have normal pauses.

Of course, what would be really useful would be if there were a way into wet-dry world from the lobby. Then you could get a star or die, and you'd be at the 50-star door.
the way into wet-dry world from the lobby is called the spiral staircase... Speaking of which, is it possible to BLJ in there to skip opening the wooden door? I know it's already very tightly optimized in there to open the door as quickly as possible but none of the tasers ever mentioned that a BLJ attempt was made, I think.
