This is probably a really silly question. Is it possible to superflip THROUGH the drawbridge from the field side to the castle while it is closing? Not that you have any bombs off which you'd be able to pull it off or that it would help in a speedrun/TAS, but just one of those things that I wonder if it's been tested. As for the route change: unfortunate the timing didn't work out. With your new route, I think you'll have no problem getting into the market, but making it to the courtyard before night... good luck. I suppose it depends on what the time is reset to when you get the goron ruby.

I would watch the 4 or 5 minutes of this... but I'd rather someone complete the quad run of genesis Sonic games that was started and dropped months ago.

Can't there be a limit of 1 scalding reply every time Saturn says something dumb or unfounded? For example, if Saturn is all, "well I was still 100% perfect if you ignore those 3 tricks," and then person A is like, "god damnit saturn!", person B and person C and person D and everyone else should just refrain from using the reply button in response to the same post. We get it the first time, and the clutter doesn't help. Thanks in advance :)

PS: The movie file somehow failed to deliver the final blow to scar. But I think the problem is rom I used.
Same problem here. I used the (W) [!] version, too... Well, I'll vote yes hoping it's a problem on my end because everything else looked really good.

So you lost all of Sami's Banjo Kazooie vids too? Damn shame.
No, I have the files I made in the same folder I always encoded to. they just don't have a home on the web anymore... hopefully temporarily. Offtopic, sorry.

I actually thought the superslide was angled almost perfectly It was.
Oh... I guess I don't know the layout of hyrule field as well as I thought. I saw the early cancel and a few sidehops before the backflip and assumed incorrectly. :) I do look forward to seeing more from Bloobibla, though! Anyway, no video from me. tas.monotoli.org went down months ago, and I never got anywhere new to put stuff because I'm lazy... That and the recording desynced. :/

I might make an mkv eventually if someone doesn't beat me to it (likely, since I haven't encoded in months). I just watched it and it looks really tight for a first-time tas. Comments: 1) Wouldn't it be faster to run to where Mido will eventually end up so he doesn't have to walk as far before you regain control (After getting kokiri emerald)? 2) The angle of the Superslide could have been retooled. 3) The superflips in the bridge room of the Spirit temple were pretty fucking sweet. 4) Was it necessary to get down to 1 heart so quickly? :(

In any case, with another huge improvement found, it comes time to go back and redo old stuff before doing anything else, again.
What are you redoing? the 1 frame improvement outside, and the few frame improvement from using a different staircase? How many stars were you at before this?

Ok, examples of unoptimized areas.... Well, in the first level you do, you do not need to go as far right as you do for the camera to stop moving. Also when you go down the pipe, you run against the first pipe in the new area killing momentum. Also your swimming is inconsistent. Also I agree with Fabian. edit: oh, and the tanuki suit is on for longer than really needed, and all jumps are slower when it's on.

Well it was unoptimized but I had never seen the levels before so I was entertained. I don't think this is publish-worthy, but again, it kept my interest so I'll vote meh.

Obviously TAS'd but definitely not to the level this site expects from someone TASing the SMW engine. Also this hack is kinda cool in that it's all one level... but really it's nothing special and oh my god the music. Voted no.

If the dinosaur is colored, why doesn't the submission text say so?

Indeed you need an account. I google'd "nicovideo make account" and there were two tutorials in the first 5 links. It takes like 2 minutes. :)

I got bored while watching this, so meh. Maybe when optimizations are found to shorten this a bit, it might garner more interest.

most of the latest improvements to this run made me go "oh, that's a cool way of doing it" but the new trick used in BitS was a definite "whoa" moment. Kudos to mapler90210 for discovering and SL for quickly adding it to the run. I wonder if it'll be useful for the 100%.... anyway, obvious YES.

I really enjoyed that run it looked very optimized. Nice job! For those who dont have the hack you can watch the video on YouTube: Part 1: http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=kpbfRvd-ags Part 2: http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=cozx-OLVSGY

Great improvement! I didn't see any missed corner boosts, and there's a bunch of keystrokes-in-tune-with-the-music during downtime (with input display), and clever use of camera scrolling to get desired object positions (especially the fire pounding guys). I'm not sure why you seemed to waste some time in the room right before the final boss, but still... If this was submitted, even though it's for a hack, I'd vote yes.

The SM64 times are starting to catch up with the SMB1 times.
Firstly, this is fewer recorded frames than SMB thanks to this being 30fps and the other being 60. Secondly, it has shorter playing time due to the title screen/intro taking up nearly a minute. Raiscan's 3rd screenshot is funny, but I think the second would make a better published shot.

My short term memory sucks, and I don't remember if this was asked/answered: Has the final elevator in BitS been tested to see if a BLJ is quicker than jumping along the edge of the wind platform?

I don't know what this poor game did to deserve this, but I like it. Yes, obviously. Has this run reached "perfect" status, yet?

I always thought that the "This is a tool assisted video" message should pop up during this opening scene as well. It would sort of give it an Opening credits feeling. Make it pop up somewhere round here to fit with the music. You know, right when the second bit of music starts. It's just always felt like it should pop up there.
if anyone wants to be a jerkface and grab a published video from here and cut off the intro and republish on some other site, or for example, somone downloads it but fast-forwards through the first non-gameplay moments, then the disclaimer is lost. If you look at the TASvideos encoding guidelines, you'll see more about this. As for the new WIP... fuckin' awesome. When mario went into the aquarium, for some reason I was like "oh, ok... I guess they decided to break up the up-till-now cool part of JRB and the rest of its boring stars by having this little aquarium intermission." and then you went back to the lobby and it hit me: JRB was already done. Keep up the stellar (hah!) work and I'm glad we'll be spoiled twice more before the end result.

As long as we're talking about other runs, would a least game time run be accepted alongside the real time run? Incidentally, for some reason I'm suddenly thinking of Super Metroid..
How would that be possible? The clock stops when you pause to change active weapons and when you speak or go through doors like super metroid but... you have to be at the last door before dawn of the 4th day. The only way you'd get there exactly when the coundown starts, 6 game-hours prior, is through "better" use of inverse song of time. That would be silly.
