How many stars can you get like that? Is it enough (70) to finish, or will you have to BLJ up the endless stairs?
There are way more than 70 stars that you can get CCC. I don't remember the exact number but I think I remember like 118. Only one I can think of off the top of my head is the secret level on the side of the top floor opposite rainbow ride entrance. Even the "secrets" stars in wet dry world and the desert pyramid can be gotten coinless.

Well it is indeed noticibly tighter, and good job catching the platform. Did you see if maybe getting the tribals in a different order was faster? like get the two on one wall, then walk diagonally across the hall towards the door, then get the two on that wall + vela + last one, then going across again diagonally, getting 2 and exiting? edit: VVVVVV Works for me!

Including the 15 seconds from goldwood, or just ss anubis done 41 seconds faster? Either way, whoa, it didn't look that unoptimized

the only thing that it lacks is a variety of fatalities
That is because every character only has two fatalities (except for Quan Chi but using him would make the fighting part repetitive and hence not entertaining) plus two stage fatalities. There are no brutalities, animalities, babalities and friendships. Off topic: when you quote someone, how do you make the text say "Truncated wrote:" instead of "Quote:"?

since I turned on input to watch invisible dancing I noticed you didn't hold up during the special stages which upthorn discovered help speed up the speed-ups or something and you could take more care to avoid rings (I think each ring adds a frame?). Also by spindashing the boss you waste time you could could have spent jumping into him, and your fire shield collection was really slow compared to nitsuja's :/ Other than that though I liked it.

I loved all the combos, especially the goro one, and I certainly didn't expect an MK game to be entertaining but I was wrong. Yes vote.

Comcast had an outage for 2 hours which was just when I was going to post that I made a video of the latest progress. but now that internet is back I am posting now. hooray. I tried out "Glide64 Wonder Plus" as the video plugin this time. Everything is there but textures are blocky as hell. I also change the aspect ratio for cutscenes. Meh. http://tas.monotoli.org/mov/jfg

I'm not sure if I posted in here yet and I see that it still hasn't been accepted or rejected so I'll say that I liked it, and the goals don't seem fuzzy. Cf obviously aimed to have the highest score/second ratio, and while it might be possible to have a higher score, it would make the ratio go down, and would probably be a very different-looking movie. This one kept me entertained, especially seeing that Very Hard kirbys could be manipulated to not make it back on the statge after one hit.

Zurreco, votes are like court trials in that majority is correct, if I learned anything today. so yeah I vote GB is the better and more fitting abbreviation to be used when referring to GameBoy games.

I have no idea how you even want the branch thing to be done but for the other thing, it is not difficult to make your own savestate, mess around, and then restart the movie and load the state.

good thing gamecube will be the only one with small discs, and everything else will be big discs. I like it. Also couldn't this be easily solved by writing an email to nintendo's support thing? Like, "humor me, but if game boy color is GBC, gamecube is GCN, and you chose the Wii name so it wouldn't even have to be abbreviated, what should I abbreviate the original Game Boy to?"

to catch the platform did you try to just collect the tribal, run to the platform, and then shoot the cell block opener from there while you wait?

what the hell. your paper says the "official acronym" for the gamecube is DOL. while DOL may be written on all gamecube products, I believe there is a press release or interview trascription where guys over at nintendo explicitly say that if the gamecube has to be abbreviated, it should be "GCN". This proves to me that the codes on that image you like posting are not what Nintendo expects people to abbreviate their consoles with. Also stop being a jackass.

Jabo made a lot of subtitles and other text/numbers disappear. I didn't really notice before because apart from a bit of multiplayer, I've never played it. it was d3d8 1.6, maybe my system deals with it badly. :v Either way, no more jabo for this game. And the game is normal 4:3 format by default but you can make it widescreen in the options. I wonder if the time wasted doing that would be beneficial in the end since floyd would have a bigger area to aim at. Otherwise, every cutscene will just be squished horizontally because mupen is too dumb to letterbox them (they are 16:9 natively). So I won't make any other videos in widescreen either.

well I'm not as good of an encoder as dehacked, and I suck at decimating dupe frames but here's my attempt. http://tas.monotoli.org/mov/jfg/ I used jabo 1.6 and if your player can play mkv's correctly then it will see the 16:9 flag I set and play it in widescreen. (Is this the first widescreen game to be TASed?) EDIT: apparantly jabo has more cons than pros for this game though so if I do anything else it will be with an openGL plugin. ALso widescreen is really only applicable to cutscenese, not gameplay. Oh well.

Also, speaking of jumpslashes, be sure to perform them when jumping into deep pits (like those leading to boss chambers in the GBT and STT). I'll mention this again when the time comes.
Assuming he is backwalking towards the pit, why would he want to jump slash rather than backflip?

_________________________________________________ /\ /\ /\ /\ ONLY MAUR IS A LOSER your keyboard doesn't like that combinations of keypresses. try mapping some of them to CTRL or Shift and other non-character keys. also using a gamepad would fix that.

1) where do I change resolution? 2) how do I turn on wire frames? 3) would either cause problems?
1) options>video> there's a drop down box. 2) Oh nevermind, gln64 doesn't have that option. jabo 1.6 does in options>video>advanced>wireframe rendering. Note that I watched the video using jabo1.6 and dind't have any sync issues. I wouldn't recommend changing it in the middle of the run though, but like I said you could try it out and see if it helps and doesn't desync. 3) the first one shouldn't the second might. you'll have to test, but the game is old enough that I don't think there will be any problems.

I don't know if it will cause desyncs or not, but running around in the dark could be made easier if you turned on wire frames. BTW I just watched the wip and it looks great. Is a video needed or can everyone play it just fine?

the video gets dumped at the proper speed though, and he didn't complain about the audio quality, so the sound could just be remuxed into whatever video someone else makes.

why would it get rejected because you used a "boundry glitch" um... and why do we have no sword at this point in the game.. im missing somthing...
because SDA doesn't like boundray violations, and TASers don't care about them. and no sword because light arrows are on b, did you not read about bottle adventure?

I believe he doesn't. He ran it in 800x600 and encoded to 320x240 but he doesn't have an 800x600 file. someone, probably vash himself, would have to make a higher quality version using mupen
