I didn't know because i didn't see it used in the blue run (maybe its only a red version glitch).

I don't know if this glitch is known but i found this today on gamespot in the pokemon red version glitches: The top floor of the Pokemon tower is blocked by the ghost of a Marowak, which can't be identified and defeated until you get the Silph Scope in Team Rocket's Hideout. Or apparently not, because if you use a Poke Doll item in this fight, with the Silph Scope or not, you'll escape the battle and Marowak will be defeated! With this trick, you can get to the top floor and save Mr. Fuji and get the Poke Flute without ever going into Team Rocket's hideout.

Can't you run PSX games from the disk drive, so you dont have to put them on your hard drive?

I have figured out the problem, and am redoing the movie. The ONLY way you can watch a paper mario movie from the start and have it make a new file is to delete the .fla file in the save folder. If you don't do that then it will load an existing file no matter what. Paper mario is an add game.

No its not a home-made rom, its a rom i got online. I'm pretty sure ill have to restart the run because i think you have to start from a new file. Dunno if it matters in this case though because all it is missing is the extra second it would take to make a new named file.

Some tricks can take a while to create (i.e. some BLJ's in SM64 and the pole glitch in SM64).

I rewatched the movie and a file is opened that is called AA already and is at first play, although i tried to delete the save many times. As for the video plugins rices video seems to work almost flawlessly, a few flickering scenes but thats about it. As for the goomba's, i couldn't get it to go any faster the first time. When talking to grandma and grandpa goomba it paused after a few lines of text. It may be able to go faster but i was not able to make it go any faster. As for the bad dump i dont know what that is. When played on project 64 or my xbox emulator the rom runs fine, and is not a bad dump. If i play it on mupen however it tells me its a bad dump, causing me to turn alert bad dump off so i can play the rom.

That would be fine with me, considering id be easier to learn their way when i already know the code instead of knowing nothing. I don't really consider being a computer programmer when i get older though, im looking into being a computer hardware engineer.

Thanks for all of the fast replies! I've decided to put off console games until im good at creating games on the computer. I have a compiler named codeblocks, and i have python. Are either of these the programs i need to code a simple game? Another question: Where would you suggest for me to go to learn how to code? I've been looking at tuts on this site but i don't know if its what i need to learn:http://www.cprogramming.com/

I know it isn't the simplest game, but it sounds much simpler than OOS.

Are you using the same rom and plugins as i am on the movie? Here is all of save files i have for paper mario (its zipped, to download scroll download and click on free, then wait for your download):http://rapidshare.com/files/88460140/paper_mario_saves.zip.html Hope that will get it working for you. Edit: The whole movie works fine for me.

Wow...that really pisses me off. I even deleted the files before i started the movie, and i recorded the movie from start. I don't really want to have to redo that whole part over unless I have to. If you need the save file to run the movie i could upload it so that you could have it. I'm really sorry this happened.

Well i've been interested in making my own video game for a while now, and i don't know how to go about it. I've searched the web far and wide and have come up with nothing. I know i have to code a game somehow (i only know about .1% of C++), but with what tools. So my question is, how do i go about making any videogame, not just an nes game. What program languages will i need to learn, and what programs will i need?

If you paused the movie and then started avi recording you have to unpause it yourself, its not like mupen where it automatily starts the movie. Try that first and see if it works.

Well thats not very useful considering how late in the game you get the hover boots.

That would be good for gaps that have a fence in the way.
