hey spawn, i watched a little of the movie, looked fun, but it did take too long... but since i love this game its always fun to watch. I have already completed a timeattack of the game on 1 player that takes about 10 minutes, that may be going up some time soon. When it comes out, get it, I'm sure you will like it! keep up the good work :)

Thats a pretty hilarious thought, though i dont walk by too many barrels. Imagine what if life was like FPSes and every time to stepped over something it was suddenly in your hands.

I think I can see it being done in 11-12 hours at top speed, but there is a lot of travelling and so on that in my opinion was mainly fun because of killing monsters on the way and getting new stuff at towns. Lacking that, a lot of the run would be pretty boring. I'd sure like to see some of the bosses whupped to hell perfectly though. I always got whipped by Lich, that guy was so freakin big.. So who knows, maybe the RPG timeattack is the next wave, maybe 45 minute games are just too boring... if thats the case i reserve FF3!!!!!

the real question is, are the megaman games in chronological order?! I heard quick man had a baby with storm eagle that could stop time AND fly, but that can't be true if X is megaman's father!

pilif - i was also surprised at how fast this game went by, I remember taking my SWEET time trying to get past some of the levels without dying, and sometimes the game is so fast paced its hard to tell whats going on. Collecting pibbles takes a little time but the pibble generators are really random and depending on what buttons youve pressed, they will shoot out different colors. So, i dance around in the video a lot to get the yellow and orange ones. The only pibble eating that takes time is the water level which is kinda tedious, but fun to play in the real game. Hopefully my improved version will be sent in today, and in the next update your wish will be granted :)

Mana items are expensive as hell though aren't they? And you only get 4 of each type. But still, I think you're probably right.

i know this is an old topic but i just want to say that i'm doing a full run right now, just passed level 5, and its really quite fun to do perfectly. It's terrible controlling and getting things perfect when making the movie in this game but I think it looks pretty good when its going at full speed. It bothers me having to get so many niblets though all the time.

I think timeattack is fine. Tool-assisted speedrun is on the movies if we want it somewhere, and if people really are too dumb to go see what is meant by timeattack then why would we care what they think?

I thought about it....but its just too long :) Maybe in the future when people REALLY have no lives. Even if a game takes more than like 25 or 30 minutes to complete it seems too long for a timeattack (doesn't stop us though). I think they were talking about this RE chrono trigger, which some one is, incredibly, doing.

i like spinning personally, the up right down left up right down left motion is like a nervou habit for me on the keyboard.

Sometimes you have to wait or wobble to affect the randomness too. A tenth of a second difference on the game timer can produce entirely new weapons and items in some games.

if i may just put in my 2 cents - I would like a speed-oriented one personally - if i want the whole game experience i will play it! .. as i have done before. What i'm looking for in these videos isn't necessarily a tour of the game, but showing how from start to finish they can be done as quickly as possible. Of course both runs can be good, like the SMB3 runs, one is truly as fast as possible, with warps, the other plays every level as fast as possible. Which is more perfect? who can say? Either way I think the fast way through CT will be an interesting run.

I agree bladegash. But either way I'd like to see this run. I think that probably speed is the way to go though, cause its an interesting game even without the bonus levels. There must be some cool glitches in this game, I just feel it.

I was thinking of doing that, a nonviolent contra, it's hard to say though whether it would be cool. Fortunately its pretty straightforward to do, may as well make it for posterity :). Other games might be cool with no shooting too, but I'm also afraid it might get old after a bit, though towards the end its probably quite exciting.

I think the movie should be done without any powerups, or maybe just machinegun or something. Spread just kind of makes the game far less of a challenge. I say, no powerups for the whole game, even if it takes a little bit longer to kill the bosses. With two people and careful firing it could be quite a show. Without missing a shot i think is probably a little much to ask (for contra anyway) though i did that in blaster master and its like that in some of the megamen right?

well, it being my favorite mega man game, I'm also looking forward to it. I hope the new glitches are something you can take advantage of when just playing - which reminds me: I was just playing SMB1 on a NES last night and I was trying to do the thing in crazygodtechnique where he bounces off walls. I know this is used in other runs too but its practically every jump in that video. I bounced around for a little while but no results. Whats the trick? I can go ask somewhere else if this is too off topic.

i vote all levels. anyone can warp! maybe there can be two versions. I feel that the time attacks have different goals: first theres the one which attempts to actually beat the game as QUICKLY as possible. then there is the kind which attempts to play through the game as PERFECTLY as possible. both have their merits but I think this game has wonderful levels and stuff and the 2nd type serves it better.

I looove this game, but i'm afraid that too much time would be spent eating the pibbles? It could get tedious, but I could also easily be wrong. A two player version would be very quick. I personally would like to see a non-warp version, skipping directly to level 8 is kind of ghetto, and the game is so fun to watch anyway.

I think it probably looked nicer on SNES but this game was pretty tight. Looking forward to it!

Got to give this a shot, I was never a genesis kid but I know for sure I am going to die when I see a sonic 2 run. That game is out of control and I expect to see like 10 versions, reaching times unheard of.

Holy crap! You guys should try this game, its kind of nuts. I thought legend of kage was it for a second when i downloaded it but this game is like legend of kage on crack. Its like a wireworks swordfighting movie in your nintendo. I might try an attack on this but I'll see first if theres really a reason to. Anybody else played this or anything?

I think most of these arguments have some truth to them, but mostly they can be traced to the fact that people are not aware of how they are made. I personally think a short disclaimer should be put in front of the movies saying, "These movies were made to appear perfect by recording at a reduced speed and using savestates" or something. If people know that and still enjoy them, they have no argument against time attacks.

you know feitclub i think you're right, its a fun game to play but to watch I dont think theres much to make a good movie with. I'd certainly like to see metal gear though, since I could never even get past the 4th SCREEN in that game.
