I'd really like to see gaunlet and metal gear, I hadn't even thought about strider! You better do that before I do!

I remember wanting to play this when i was little, but it was too long and complicated. Now I get to see it done as it should be!

well i personally like to hear the sound because it gives you a better feel for how the game is actually being played. so I would only say BGM in trailers.

that sucks tarzan! Thats a cool run, I love that game. well you can probably submit it yourself if you want that DL count up. I really never expected more than maybe 100 or so people from this site to download my movie, it really is quite incredible that 900 people have now, I feel famous (though not so much as the contra and castlevania authors with like 1500 dls plus the ones before reset).

Yeah I was afraid your tracker would go down but I see things are working ok now, I've been uploading all night. Well, I think that it's cool that the stuff is up there, maybe this site will get linked to again, or was it arc's that was on metafilter or whatever? hehe, maybe I should be submitting a link to some superblog... >:)

i have to say i admire and am very impressed by the runs through this and other games, where you are improving it by fractions of a second at a time. This is one of the coolest parts of the timeattack scene, the movement towards a truly perfect movie, or at least a fastest version, where NOTHING could be done faster. Keep it up!

I just noticed like a million extra downloads on everything, looks like everything here was put up on Suprnova! Thats a major site and it looks like its driving a lot of traffic here and on bittorrent networks of our files. I think this is cool, did someone do this officially? Also its probably a good idea to pull out your movies and reseed them so people can get what they want!

heh, i can't believe blaster master is up there. It's not really that hard...just freakin long as hell, and the Crabullus boss is a punk. Kid Icarus too! I know I beat it at least once without ICARUS FIGHTS MEDUSA ANGELS.

I don't know if you guys knew, but its not actually illegal to own roms, as long as you own a copy of the cartridge they are an image of. Its part of the 'fair use' thing. That's one of the reasons I chose to do blaster master :).

I used to love this game, if you do a run I'd certainly watch it, and maybe take a shot at it myself. any obvious cheats/glitches etc? I haven't investigated this one at all, but I remember it being a cool game.

I may just be ignorant and this is out there, but wouldn't a contra 2-player be significantly faster than the one-player version? Double the firepower, you could get through the "3D" stages and bosses a lot faster. I'm not gonna try it but I just thought I'd throw it out there.

I've decided not to do the continue thing, its just too....cheap. As long as I'm worrying about any kind of aesthetic form, I can't do that. Anyway, I love watching the tank swim, its fun to watch and to control. anyway, have you guys gotten the pause-bomb trick to work on the giant crab boss? Wonn's page says its possible but I can't make it happen.

You know, i tried that, but it didn't work. Is there some trick to it? I remember you mentioning it and I gave it a shot, but I kept dying ._. Pausing resets the gravity damage thing? I'll go give it a shot now

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. to tell the truth whether i kill enemies or not is just based on my mood at the time :). It's just that simply killing an enemy never seems entertaining to me, I have to find an interesting way to kill them. If they're just like in front of me and I shoot them, woohoo what a great demonstration of power and skill! So if the enemy is like obviously helpless I leave it alone. Like in the final segment of level 8 I only kill the skulls, those bastards, and I leave all the little bees alone, except for one that was unavoidably in my path. Maybe I will kill more stuff next time. I probably should kill more in the water stage, I was quite a pacifist there. also you're right the music is pretty filthy in bm. I put it on a mix cd once

I'm glad there is some interest in this game! Please go ahead and make an attempt at my time, but know that if you beat it I will be snapping at your heels! :) If you're planning on submitting to this site, though, you'll need to use famtasia as it is required by the rules (I think). I use Nesten usually to emulate but I got used to famtasia, so its probably just best to go with that. Hope you're not too far... Its such a long game that you can't just 'make a run' some night and beat your time, it takes a good while to get everything right for 44 minutes straight...

Andypro, I'm afraid I can't provide any rom information (obviously) but in particular the actual rom that I have; it has been renamed several times, I can only imagine it is the most common US version, probably an image of the cartridge I got at toys 'r us when i was 10. Gigafrost: Thanks for the kind words! I was afraid it would bomb. :) For number 1 suggestion, I think you are absolutely right, I hadn't remembered how fast you swim at that point. It might save as much as 30 seconds, but I can't remember if you can get out of the water onto a raised platform as the dude. For number 2, I'm not quite sure what you're referring to, I'll watch the video but if you could be a little more specific it'd help.. :) And number 3, it probably would save a little time, but until I watch it or try it I wouldn't be able to tell whether the ugliness would be offset by the amount of time saved. You're right about the gun though, theres no need for it after the robocube boss. Did you actually watch the whole thing? I know its quite long...of course I find it exciting because i remember every move!

i think its mostly meant as a tech demo, but with a little tweaking it could be fun. I emailed the guy and he said that kid icarus was built at the same time on the same engine (or close) so he might be doing that too. Once you can rotate the view a little more it will be better. It's far from complete.

can we talk about how good the graphics are in this game? I always thought of stuff like final fantasy 3 as the standard for graphics, but this is really beautiful and dynamic. Can't believe they fit it onto a cart. I feel like the control is pretty loose though, but maybe i just need to get used to it.

I would love seeing this game done, also Flashback which as I recall was a similar control scheme but had better graphics and such. I remember that beast, scary as hell!

I just wanted to turn you guys on to a site I thought you might find fun and interesting. This guy is taking the maps from games and transferring them directly into some kind of voxel engine, it's quite cool really. Metroid is as far as I can tell complete (minus some bugs), and there is a full semi-3d map of zelda's overworld. The other little demos are cool too, but since Metroid is a favorite game of mine I find it very fun to try it in 2.5D. http://pages.infinit.net/voxel/home.htm btw just saw the new double dragon, that is impressive. watch blaster master

alas. you are right. i was using the unpatched version because i didn't want to switch horses midrace. I stand corrected - but it's still 3 minutes faster than my previous time, though still quite long.
