OK, I redid it and its actually posted, my fmv length from reset to movie stop was 43:00! There's no damage taken except for shortcuts, and unlike my first attempt there are no wasted shots. I feel that it cant be done any faster, maybe like a few seconds but really I think ~43 minutes is the minimum. Please watch it when you have the time and let me know what you think! :) -devin

I agree with you very much qFox, I love Super Mario Kart but I never like Mario Kart 64 at all. I personally would like seeing a time attack of the courses just as a way to improve my playing, but really that could be done without rerecording. What are the shortcuts you are talking about? Flower cup course one is the first chocolate island one, and the ice one is the one around the lake right? I don't know that I'm aware of any special shortcuts on those, please enlighten me. :)

I was just poking around in my NES games and thought I'd give old Marble Madness a try. Turns out its pretty fun! And there is a lot to get perfect. Control is good, it emulates well, I think there is possibility for a good time attack here. I've played through most of it (I think) and it seems like a good, short 3 minute thing with plenty of variety. Give it a shot!

haha, rerecording counts would go through the roof! you "pause" it for 5 seconds, you add 50 re-records to your movie. Super Mario World Time: 42:50 Re-Records: 12,888,710

Pierrot I think you misunderstood fried's post. Try reading it more carefully. in any case...I mostly played RPGs on SNES, so I can't really think of anything I'd like to see TAed. Except super metroid and the speed runs on that are already so impressive that I don't know what could really be added in a time attack. Super Mario world and probably the one with yoshi would also be good.

well I think that maybe I'll check out 3 now that you've menttioned it. AND I think that the metalman metal blade weapon deserves its own thread, if not its own SITE, because it is so incredibly badass. Really its kind of ridiculous.

I was just curious, what do you guys think is the best Megaman/Rockman title on NES/Famicom? Personally I like Megaman II but that's kind of a sentimental attachment. I haven't played the others nearly as much. Their boss robots seem progressively weirder though...II has the classics IMHO.

Whooo hoo! finally finished! Got stranded in level 5 and had to record level 7 like 4 times but it all worked out in the end. My final time was 46:58. I know I could take like 1:00 off that easily by refraining from all the cocky backwards jumps and noodling around with enemies, but sometimes you can't resist :)! I'm gonna submit it now, hope you all get a chance to see it.

wow, that really helps a lot, thank you! I was aiming for no damage but I guess I'll have to make exceptions here. That and I already took damage once...but if i remember correctly its impossible to avoid getting hit in this one spot, this skill spawns above you as you enter the room and drops a bomb into your sprite before you can move. weak as hell but its ok.

ah - i guess I'm out of my league here. I'm doing a fun little run but I dont think I'll be breaking any records. It would help if I could see lezards run, but the site is down.. is there a torrent or anything? in any case i'm going to finish it and hopefully get some suggestions on it. by the way whats the going over the water thing you mentioned for level 4? Thats where I'm going, if there is a trick i'd like to know it

Hey there, i'm new to the scene and the forum - I started watching after I saw morimoto's SMB3 but I have diversified my interests now ... :) I was wondering if anyone has done Blaster Master in any way - its one of my favorite games and I was thinking of doing a time attack on it for my debut. I've already done the first level and it looks pretty good though I can't say it beats the work anyone here. btw I just watched the half-life time attack and the super metroid 38 min speed run and they are both fantastic. Also all you guys great work on all your movies, they're really inspiring.
