It was a decent game, not FANTASTIC, but decent. Crappy sound/music and the annoying wlking with the touch screen, which sometimes doesn't react. Good try for Bioware for their first DS RPG. Now to wait for Sonic Chronicles 2.....

Here ya go: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6968 Also, I believe LA DX has a crazy glitch not in the original. So if the PSX Chrono Trigger does...
I know of that one, but I want a pure speed one. Not a semi entertainment semi-speed TAS

That didn't stop people from doing both Links Awakening and Links Awakening DX. Both are also the same except for color and an optional dungeon (which isn't in the current DX run).

I doubt that they will use any restrictions.... Maybe only a level cap (like the battle tower) in which you can choose for Lv10, Lv20 etc November is close, yet so far.....

Probably old news, but...... A remake of Chrono Trigger is on its way.
After previously only having a release date of this holiday season, the upcoming Square Enix remaster of this SNES classic is now confirmed by the publisher/developer to be releasing in the US on November 25, 2008, allowing for US gamers to get their time-travelling fix while stuffing the turkey. Chrono Trigger originally released on the SNES back in 1995, and became one of the most acclaimed titles of all time, with the name invoking fond memories, and one of the standouts of the JRPG genre. This new upcoming DS remake will incorprate a dual screen presentation and touch screen functionality, while keeping in tact the game's original elements. Additions to this version will be brand-new dungeons, along with an Arena mode.
I was expecting it to be on the Wii virtual console. But the DS is fine too Hopefully this will make the series (Chrono Trigger & Chrono Cross) popular again, so that they can make a 3rd game. New Dungeons = Yay Arena = Yay, Wi-Fi battling (everyone will probably have a Lv99 Ayla :P) Both touch screen walking and normal walking available = Yay I wonder who will be making the new dungeons..... Wasn't most of/the entire "Dream Team" fired?

Lufia II also had a lot of text during certain parts. No one was bothered by that either.... I would love to see a TLA TAS

Another change in the GBA port is 1 NEW bloody hard world. They changed 2 bosses. The Clamp (under water boss battle) have switched location to the new world. And a new boss replaces him at the old world.

Greetings! Just to let everyone know, I finished an abstract TAS for Kongo Jungle in Donkey Kong Country (see DKC 101% new attempt in the SNES forum), and I now have an interest in TASing DKL1. Although I've never played it, I would like to know what sort of requirements there are for 100% (101%?), what glitches there are etc... because this may just take my fancy.
I think you can only get 100% by getting all the KONG letters in every level. You can freeze the Kremlings in World 2-1. First, find the area where there is a barrel and a Strong Stalker. Avoid him and pick up the barrel. Jump over the first Kremling, and onto the platform. If you are playing as Diddy Kong, the Kremlings will freeze.

You could say it is kinda the same as the previous Avatar GBA game. Only that they have improved the gameplay and system. It has puzzles, fighting and 2 minigames as levels(Flying with Appa) Sometimes you have to beat all enemies on the screen before you can advance. And you control 2 characters. You switch them with L and let your partner attack with R. I have a rom available if needed

It looks like a good game to TAS, so I was wondering if someone wants to try this one out. There are a total of 13 levels. The 13th level is basically all previous levels glued together. You can only access this level by getting A-Rank on the first 12 levels.

I hope they will add Twilight Princess Ganondorf. This time he can have his glowy sword and magic powers, instead of juiced up Captain Falcon moves. I'm also hoping for Shadow the Hedgehog or Dr. Eggman. They could add Metal Sonic as a different skin. Stages request list: Koopa Doomship (Mario Bros 3) Death Egg (Various Sonic games) Goron Mines (Zelda Twilight Princess) Space Pirate (Ridley) ship (Metroid Zero Mission) K. Rool's ship (Donkey Kong Country) Mother Brain's chamber (Metroid/Super Metroid/Metroid Zero Mission) Corona Mountain (Mario Sunshine)

Bisqwit, How come some runs which are accepted a month/months ago still aren't posted? Example: Shining Force. Too little time to upload? Not enough space?

Elekong should speed things up (walking through blocks). Before getting Elekong, the RC Bombs and FireKong? is a good combination. 1 you can move the bombs, and 2 you can detonate them whenever you want. I think Golem Base and Infinity have a lot of charabon switching if memory serves me right.....

Maybe it would be better for someone to do an TAS for the GBA ports/remakes. Since the GBA version allows you to RUN on the world map. Taking of a chunk of time, compared to the SNES version.
Thought about it, saw the graphics and sound, and decided that the sheer loss of quality wasn't worth it. I might get around to redoing the BoF 2 run, but it'd still clock in at over 5 hours, and that'd be horribly boring to watch really.
There is a Lufia 2 TAS on the site which is 3h, and it wasn't boring. I think it mainly depends on the number of suporters.

I don't know about 3, but 1 and 2 are very similar to the corresponding Country games. I don't know if they are direct ports, but still similar. I guess they would make good TASes anyway.
DKL2 & 3 look like a port (since it has the same bosses & worlds), but DKL1 has new worlds and new bosses except K. Rool (but he has a diving attack or something now)

Will you eventually do an Emerald run too? It will be a seperate game, since you battle both Aqua and Magma and a different E4 Champion.

Will it be a low% run or a all Karabon run (Since you can skip 1) or 100%(All powerups/karabons etc)

Have you considered the GBA port? I'm not sure how much has changed, but I do believe, at least, the exp and coin totals at the end of battles have been increased to make the game a bit easier. I don't know much more about it than that, though. But it might be worth considering.
GBA TAS of this game would be faster, since you can RUN on the maps. (Run function was also given to the BoF1 GBA port). To be able to run and more exp&coins would make the GBA port ike 30 minutes, maybe more shorter than a Snes TAS.

IMO, Treecko is the worst of the starters. 1. His only good move is Leaf Blade 2. The only gym leaders that Treecko and his evo's can defeat are Gym 1 (rock) and maybe gym 8 (water). Either choose Torchic (would be a bitch at the first gym, unless you lv up for iron claw) or Mudkip. Game differences compared to r/s: - You fight both Team Aqua and Magma (Team Magma having his own base at Mt. Chimney) - Team Magma double battle with Steven as your partner at the Space Center - New 8th gym leader - Original 8th gym leader replaces Steven as the E4 Champion - Battle Frontier and a few more things Best bet would be to get Rayquaza after the Groundon/Kyogre clash. That way you can sweep the E4+Champion with Rayquaza. You must give Rayquaza an electric attack for those water pokemon though.
