Whole minecart sequence complete. Went MUCH better than I wished =). Like Catastrophe, I was going to wait until the WOB but it seems you guys are more interested than I thought, so here's a treat. <link no available here> Thanks to flaggy for hosting the file. Please enjoy. Edit: BTW, please post your thoughts or comments about my run. I'd love feedback.

I just defeated Number 024. I never though I could be moving along this quickly, while still maintaining the quality =D.

The SNES version is different in af ew ways than the Genesis version. One example is that some of the huge stomping machines stomp at a faster rate in JLLY.

Catastrophe, it's two nights in a row now that I've gotten desynced. This is really starting to shit me, so much to the point that I don't want to continue anymore. It's so fucking annoying, I feel like murdering someone right now. I just spent 5 hours on that segment, only to play it back and have it desync. I AM SO BLOODY FURIOUS. I don't know what the hell causes it, or how to fix it. I rely on a good buddy to do it for me, but fuck it if it's always going to desync like this. And for the record, he hasn't fixed it yet, and he doesn't know if he can. If anybody able to offer help, then all I can give in return is a thank you. Third edit: Thanks flaggy for fixing it, I owe you heaps.

Actually you're the one who stops to kill the Leafer. Just a mix up. Also, to answer your question on AIM, here are my test results. Getting the Gauntlet and touching the note is 200 frames slower than just getting the Gauntlet. Getting the Genji Glove is 1500 frames quicker than getting the Gauntlet. So, final word: get the Genji Glove.

Here is my WIP: http://rapidshare.de/files/18376670/FFIII.smv.html Sorry for using rapidshare, please deal with it :P. A few notes: - Final Fantasy 3 (1.1), though (1.0) users should not have any desync problems. - Managed to defeat Whelk before it's second turn. - Didn't get the Hyper Wrist, Running Shoes or Atlas Armlet. - Currently up to the Returner's Hideout. I'll be buying my Echo Screens here instead of Nikeah later on. - Slightly quicker than Catastrophe's run. - Un-beatable(by time) Vargas battle(excuse me for bragging but I felt really good inside doing that bit :P). - I'll be getting Celes. - Buy Smoke Bombs at Narshe after the raid. - I may bring only one other character along with Locke and Celes. But I'm having second thoughts because of Number 128. - Aside from holding directional buttons while the screen is black to walk immediatly, I press only the required amount of buttons. No more than necessary. BUT I didn't know about escaping and I held L/R one frame more than I needed to, several times. I hope to get rid of them somehow. - Sabin joins at LV.10. It took a lot of planning(and headaches, I hate maths) in advance to know how much EXP I would need to gain. - I really hope you enjoy watching what I have so far because I have enjoyed every minute making it. Fin.

Those values you gave don't work for me (the critical hit values).

This sounds silly, but I need help on manipulating critical hits. I can't trigger critical hits. You can alter your damage by waiting 2 frames after the other right? I've tried 50 different attacks(100 frames) and I can't get a critical hit to trigger. Sorry for asking, what a silly question =(

Thanks for taking the time to type up all that information. It could prove useful. I don't really want to steal anyone's work. Your run is incredibly well done though. So I appreciate you typing that up for us (who are also attempting the run). Command Menu Short is better than Default. It's a minimal problem though. Wow, I really liked that, how you used Desperation attacks in the most fashionable ways. And just a heads up for anyone who asks me: It'll be months before I can have anything to show of such a grand scale. I am going out of my way, even if it takes up 5 minutes of my life, to save every frame I can. All my battles, all my dialogues. Am I going crazy? Yeah. :P

Hi. I've started a TAS for this game. Foe several reasons: - I've always wanted to make one and - To get something out for people to work with. I see here all talk, no action (no offence) so I've decided to break the ice. Now, the one I have made is very rough. I won't be submitting it in after it's complete. There is one rule I have applied though: No instant kills. All kills will be through damage. So I won't be using Vanish/Doom or Joker Doom, or even Fenix Down. Yeah, it uses up more time, but it's more entertaining at the same time. Although I have to admit, watching a run for this game is hardly entertaining. Oh well, I'm having a great time making it. Currently up to Banon's scenario. Nothing too difficult as yet.
