Collina is pleased. -> that one is scary

Thanks, but this is not an argument because an argument has two sides and clearly I am right and there is no other side :)

Definitely improvable. This could be brought below the four hour mark. Minor optimizations add up. Something I noticed because it's a glaring loss of time is the battle with Ifrit and Shiva - if you use the esper Ramuh (by equipping it on a character, and then going to the magic menu and pressing up IIRC) the battle ends immediately, rather than requiring you to defeat both Ifrit and Shiva. I'm paused at that section right now; I'll do a final vote after I watch the rest of the movie.
This is completely false. You are exactly what is wrong with the world. You go around critizing for sake of making yourself look better. It is OK to critize but make sure your facts are right. You then proceed to act like if you did the run you'd have gotten under 4 hours, which is also false, you'd probably have ended up with a time around 4:15-4:20. The only thing true that you said is minor optimizations add up, but you failed to point out any. The run is not perfect, no run ever is, but I won't go acting like I could have done better.

I knew they were screamers but I played it anyways and still got the shit scared out of me. Pretty good illusions thingies.

Awesome job. I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet, but I am so throughly impressed by how well you use Umaro to take out some of the bosses at the end. Its really cool that you only fight a single optional random battle to gain AP, you're pure business. And that WOR is done faster than any human could do it with lvl 99 characters.

JXQ: Get a program to press Up about 25 times per second and it can go through the ceiling (only in levels, does not work in main map for some reason), then you can fly around in the walls to where you want to go. xebra: Ok, I got the ball into the position described (sometimes dropping down, sometimes rising up) and started to jump but it just broke.

Ok thanks. BTW xebra, can you give me a location and a jump sequence for that inside corner glitch thing you mentioned? I couldn't get it to work anywhere.

Hmm yes first he deleted it and messaged me that he does not want people to know about it, but then I got another message saying he has decided to allow all glitches. So I'm not sure what to think because the topic is still gone and my times removed. If I do it again, I'll try to record, but I'll need to use another computer because the one I play on now isn't very fast. Edit: Hmm it seems he deleted Nitrodon's time too, either he didn't like the glass ball glitch or he thought you must have used hover glitch too, sorry if its the latter

Yeah, also used glitch for last 2 levels: http://www.ni2.se/withinadeepforest/forum/viewtopic.php?p=735#735

Well, if you are falling onto a corner, you just have to hit it in the right spot. It's not even necessary to be pressing a direction key for certain corners the first time you hit them. If you can nustle up next to a 1-high platform, you can make it so you are standing on the ground, but if you bounce up, you will bounce onto the platform, and seemingly at random, will sometimes fall back down again. It's easy to inside corner glitch these, and luckily, three of the four jumps you need in the -2/4/6/8 run can use this technique.
That sounds like a good method, I'll try to incorperate it next time I play, btw new best time: 15:34.08

I got 33:20.32 skipping 2468, a minute behind Nitrodon. I seem much less consistant with corner hop when I'm under pressure. Also I have updated the route and tried to beautify it since JXQ pointed out it was the worst map ever. Or scroll up for new map, now its the only the second worst map because the old version was worse.

Nitrodon successfully completed the game without 2,4,6,8. This is great news if we hope to beat the mark of 20 minutes. I thought I would post what I think is the best route. Its fairly obvious but this might be a good reference

It would be easiest if I could survive the fall into the room with the laser grid, there are no corners there.

I just found a glitch to go through the ceiling!

Tafat, good idea, looks hard though, I'll look into it. Baxter, nice time for first try, did you practice alot before trying? My [second] try was only 48:00 and I practiced a good amount. Edit: Tafat, it works, but its pretty hard and you just have to switch back to glass ball right afterwards, possibly worth the risk, who knows.

Ooops sorry, fixed. I made the map by taking screen shots and pasting them together, it took longer than I thought becuase I was using paintbrush and it got really sluggish as the image got big. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to beat shadow land without the rubber ball and yoga ball. This is in desperate hopes of being able to skip those two balls and save loads of time.

For Boco: Crystal Path is sort of tricky so I made a map and plotted what I think is the best route: Route Old route I figured out ways to do the corner bounce in both the places that I don't use it on this map, but due to the difficulty I think on average it would be slower to try it. The one place I do use it is really easy. Also I found out a super fast way to do that level but I can only pull it off about 10% of the time. Make it to the first check point and switch to glass ball, go back up (skipping half the level basically). It is very hard because you have to nail the corner bounce glitch on an inside corner to get the needed height.

Very well explained, that is a little different than my method. I didn't realize that horizontal velocity mattered on landing, so thank you for this knowledge.

I actually skipped getting the green ball in my first speed run, I figured out ahead of time how to get up there with the glass ball, once you have the method down its alot easier than you'd think. There is no point in me trying to explain it because you'll probably have an easier time figuring it out than wading through my poor explanation abilities.

Hmm ball 5 would be nice to use for those. Too bad there are those super long falls down the pipes to spoil our fun. It is possible to survive if you hit a corner properly but that also takes away the fun. A challenge I just thought of: beat the entire game on hard without using the 'A' key. I'm sure this is possible but it will be very hard, I'll try it now (I don't post on their challenges topic because a rule is you have to actually do it first)

Well I just finished the game on normal mode, how is hard mode? Also I thought the secret levels would unlock but they didn't. Thanks for the help guys this game was awesome. I hope to try speed run and stuff tomorrow. Ah I read how to unlock them I feel dumb now (didn't read the numbers, but that they were significant, and I remember seeing them in the two places and thinking wtf are these for)
