You might also have to reverse the audio channels in order to "fix" the audio (to my knowledge, the audio channels are reversed in the audio dump, but do check beforehand) (noticeable at the start of 1-2, when Mario enters the pipe to the underground). This is easily done in AviSynth:
Language: avisynth

video = AviSource("movie.avi") audio = WAVSource("movie.wav") audiofix = GetChannel(audio, 2, 1) AudioDub(video, audiofix)

On 4.0-3601, check "Dump Frames" and "Dump Audio" (they're both in the "Movie" menu). (note: I've confirmed it syncs fine on 4.0-3601) By the way, you normally won't need the a/v sync hack on 4.0-3601.

By the way, don't forget to do this before dumping the run:

Note to whoever's willing to encode it: You need to edit the DTM to enable EFB copies to RAM (open it in the DTM Editor and set EFB Texture to "RAM") in order for most objects to animate (like ? blocks or floating coins).
Don't worry, the TAS will still sync. And before you ask: Yes, that's what I actually had to do.

Just as a side note: You need to set Dolphin's configuration to use an aspect ratio of 16:9 (Config button -> Wii) and also force the aspect ratio to 16:9 in its graphics configuration, since the game actually adds black bars at the top and at the bottom on a 4:3 resolution. This also means that the encode should not be aspect-corrected, since it was already done before (i.e. while dumping) (and it would look really ugly if it was stretched to a 4:3 resolution).

This was very entertaining, especially the end. Yes vote. One question, though: What happens if P1 Apocalypse wins instead of P2 Apocalypse? Will the game crash? Nevermind, it's in the submission text. Just a note to other publishers: I will encode and publish it once it gets accepted (I already have an AVI dump ready).

fs are the initials of my full name, vgm stands for videogamer and 777 is what I consider the "ultimate lucky number" (i.e. if you get 777 on a slot machine, you get the jackpot). That's basically it.

So here's something weird I noticed about this game: Apparently, the stage music changes depending on the input you make before entering it. Here's a movie with the exact frame count, but different input before Stage 1 (I got rid of a few Right + A inputs before entering Stage 1) Suddenly, the music is different than what's in the test run I posted a few days ago. On that note: This song is surprisingly awesome. (FLAC format)

I've decided myself to make a test run of the first level. Link to video However, since I used BizHawk and WST used Gens, I don't know if it's faster or slower than WST's testrun.

There are difficulty settings in this game (Mario 3) (опции (options) -> сложность (difficulty)): легко (Easy), нормально (Normal) and тяжело (Hard). (it seems to be on Easy when you boot the game). It also has a dumb control scheme where the run and fire buttons aren't on the same button by default and the jump button is inbetween them (irrelevant in a TAS).

So I read something interesting about this game on the developer's memorial site: "Zero Tolerance was the very first, First-person Shooter (FPS) for any video game console. Randel Reiss*, the owner of the Zero Tolerance copyright and trademark, has made the original Zero Tolerance Sega Genesis ROM image royalty-free for distribution. Portions of the ROM image are copyright Sega and although Sega has not actively prevented royalty-free dsitribution, they have never official granted permission for distribution." *founder of Technopop, the developer of this game So....would it in fact be fine to link to the ROM in this case? (note that I haven't linked to the memorial site yet, as it does contain a link to the ROM)

I've been listening to the entire 東方紅輝心 (Touhou Koukishin) OST. Here's a very small taste of what's in the OST (the entire soundtrack is 2:06:30.635 long, as it's 2 discs): Link to video

I suggest we stay on the properly romanised Japanese title; that is, Kyatto Ninden Teyandee. The game was never released outside of Japan anyway. Besides, the game title on the previous publication is wrong, as it really should be the above, not Cattou Ninden Teyandee (which would be written as ッ党忍伝てやんでえ in Japanese instead of キャッ党忍伝てやんでえ).

Uh...other than the clone glitch and the Metroid Prime bypass, what glitches were used at all? :o
I removed the "Heavy glitch abuse" category. Thanks for pointing it out.

For what it's worth, the "kill screen" occurs in VICE 2.4 (both regular and x64sc) as well (tested with them running at 20% speed and save stating occasionally). So it seems more like it's a bug in the game rather than an emulator bug.

Just as a note: The run is 1:37.16 long, per WolframAlpha (a PAL C64 runs at 985248/63/312 FPS, which is around 50.1245 FPS).

From their most recent news post: "Sorry everyone for the recent prolonged downtime - Amazon changed their atlantic IP addresses, and we were caught in the sweep. Hopefully this should mean a return to normal now, but if you get any problems, please leave me a message on our facebook group. Apologies again! ~~Scott, 06 Aug 2014, 09:11"

So I made a 10bit444 encode. This, however, doesn't mean I'm back to encoding/publishing duties (at least not yet).

Which is weird, because I managed to watch it on my Windows 7 laptop just fine. Didn't even have to mess around with the settings.
Can you dump it for me?
