The TAS in itself is well done, but... the game is so bad, the music even starts glitching out during one stage (at least it did so for me in FCEUX 2.1.4a). Meh vote.

Battletoads shows a graphical glitch very similar to the one in Gradius II (perhaps the same?): This was on a verified good dump. Furthermore, Battletoads & Double Dragon: The Ultimate Team crashes after Abobo fully shows up: Again, this was on a verified good dump. In both cases, BizHawk 1.0.4a was used.

I remember seeing TAS of UFO which scores over 4 billion points with MarisaA on Lunatic. Here it is. (Replay file)

This is not true. It can be skipped by pressing either A or B (not too sure right now). Have this FM2 as proof. (done unassisted, by the way)

"Fix lagrange point, including sound" Uhh... not quite? (yes, I used BizHawk 1.0.4) SHA1 hash value of the Lagrange Point ROM I have: fdc91a8b370977720d8efe16f260fd58730fe495 MD5 hash value of the Lagrange Point ROM I have: 753d8084a728533b819b29edbb60efae I get the same when extracting BizHawk 1.0.4 into another directory. Furthermore: Gradius II sometimes displays some (minor) graphical glitch at the left of the screen. This is on a verified good ROM (in BizHawk 1.0.4). By the way, said graphical glitch doesn't happen in FCEUX, for instance.

I just remembered that I had a WIP of Gradius II (NES) that I worked on, but never continued it past the first stage. Here it is. (you may need FCEUX 2.1.4a, as I haven't tested it in newer versions) I also made a RAM Watch file: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/64600169/Gradius%20II%20%28J%29.wch

And so, I finally 1cc'd MoF on Normal with ReimuB (forward-focus type). Replay EDIT: Now on YouTube with some soft-subbed commentary. Part 1 Part 2

Koumajou Densetsu behaves quite strangely in Hourglass. The game itself runs at 60 FPS, but the input is delayed. Plus, the BGM plays in slow-motion. The resulting input file is only ~50 frames long for ~40 seconds of gameplay (I should note that I set the FPS in the Hourglass window to 60). Hourglass log Secondly, Touhou Seirensen ~ Undefined Fantastic Object has some issues with the BGM in Hourglass (it only plays the first few seconds of a song indefinitely). Plus, the game claims to run at 75 FPS in-game, which is 25% faster than usual (the game normally runs at 60 FPS) (again, I set the FPS in the Hourglass window to 60). Hourglass log Note: Both games are updated to their respective latest versions. I used Hourglass r81 with default settings. I should note that the games run just fine outside of Hourglass. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium x64.

From a query with p4plus2 on a different IRC network, since he gave me a "prototype" version of the TAS 1 month and 2 days ago (times in CET, comments between brackets and in italics): Nov 27 09:55:08 <fsvgm777> ..holy shit, flopping cheep-cheeps everywhere. Nov 27 09:55:13 <p4plus2> now kaizoman and others are going to try and replicate it (this is already done, as proven by this TAS) Nov 27 09:55:26 <p4plus2> oh...those cheep cheeps mean so much more in the long run Nov 27 09:55:32 <fsvgm777> Oh joy. Nov 27 09:56:09 <fsvgm777> ...WHAT IN THE... Nov 27 09:56:29 <p4plus2> yup. Nov 27 09:56:30 <fsvgm777> The ending is playing...? (the "prototype" TAS includes the entirety of the ending, as opposed to this one, which literally skips it) Nov 27 09:57:06 <p4plus2> this glitch obliterated the game and requires absurd levels of planning to pull off Nov 27 09:57:27 <p4plus2> let me give you the check list of things that must happen Nov 27 09:57:45 <fsvgm777> It involves Yoshi's tongue... somehow. Nov 27 09:57:51 <p4plus2> the stack must be the correct length Nov 27 09:57:52 <p4plus2> the stack must have the correct values Nov 27 09:57:52 <p4plus2> every sprite must be at an exact location on the screen, have an exact tile, and properties Nov 27 09:57:52 <p4plus2> the RNG routine must have the correct seeds Nov 27 09:57:52 <p4plus2> and to top it off the RNG must output the correct value Nov 27 09:57:52 <p4plus2> not to mention this all must be done while preforming a second glitch on the side to generate a null sprite in yoshis mouth Nov 27 09:58:24 <p4plus2> then with all that, time it perfect when you spit the sprite out Has my initial reaction changed? No. Therefore, yes vote.

As it turns out, the European version of the ROM was used. A vested editor (or above) needs to change the ROM name accordingly. I managed to watch the entire movie. Sorry, but I fast-forwarded around halfway through. It was the same button combination over again. Voting no.

Yeah, I should bomb more during Kanako's final spell (entitled "Mountain of Faith"), even if she turns invincible as long as the bomb is visible. This is about as far as I got (with only using 1 bomb on that spell so that the power stays at 4.00): Oh, and ignore the slightly higher score. It's still the same replay. Ah, what could have been...

And here's me failing at Mountain of Faith (a bit dated): Link to replay So close to a 1CC... By the way, I use some bombs, especially during later stages.

All I can say is that Stages 3, 4 and 9 got destroyed. As such, very easy yes vote from me.

Having watched this run yesterday on Nicovideo (because someone on some IRC network linked to it), I have to say this run is well made. Yes vote.

Yes, indeed. At least it's not like "Jonasan! Sharotto! Jonasan! Sharotto!" repeated over and over again.

I changed the game name to the English name, since the game has an official English name (Asterix & Obelix - PAF! Them All!). Per the Publisher Guidelines, "if there is no USA version of the game, but there is an English release in another region (such as the UK), use the game name of that release." ..but overall, I found the run pretty boring to watch. Voting meh, but leaning towards No.

OK, finished watching the run. It was fairly good. I certainly did not know that you can shoot at the eggs. Yes vote. ..though, I think it'd be better to show the credits "level" (the one just before the high score entry), but that's just me.

Unless I'm missing something, why didn't you submit the 24:57 run which you uploaded to YouTube? If anyone could translate that to Russian for khv-user, that would be nice.

Super Mario Bros. 3 with warps in 19:20.61: Download link (FCEUX movie file) Emulator used: FCEUX 2.1.4a (should sync with 2.1.5) ROM used: Super Mario Bros. 3 (U) (PRG1) [!] The run starts out pretty much without deaths, until I die once in 8-1 and a whopping 4 times in 8-2, before I finish the run without more deaths.

I'd rather say it's because the encode uses duplicate frame removal, which YouTube can't handle well. Try this one instead, which doesn't use duplicate frame removal.

I guess I have to encode this run again once you've posted said input file. Oh well, doesn't matter much... I guess.

From what I can gather, the space bar doubles the frame rate (from 30 to 60). However, the space bar has to remain pressed the entire time, else the frame rate drops back to 30. Plus, it makes the game seem unnaturally fast (as in, the death sound is still playing when a level has already been reloaded, just to give an idea).

Encode is up on Mediafire. I guess I'll give this one a Yes vote as well, as it's an improvement to the cancelled run.
