The TAS was featured in a French speedrunning show called "Mach 1": Link to video

This link leads to a 404, and with the author being....no longer with us, I'm going to ask the impossible: Does anyone have the build in question? Alternately, does it sync on a fairly late 3.5 build (considering when it was submitted)?

This submission doesn't really uphold the quality of the orignial publication, which - I might add - hasn't aged too well, which even the author of it admits. I feel the vast majority of the answers weren't exactly funny, the crude stuff notwithstanding, and honestly feel a bit tacked on. I feel for a TAS such as this one, it is strongly advised to upload a WIP to userfiles and post in the game topic, and see how the audience reacts to the answers. With that said, I'm voting No on entertainment. Good luck for your next attempt, however.

Thing is, it's still the same game, just played with a different character. So I don't feel the tag applies here, cause the way I see it, it's meant for completely different games.

You're referring to milking certain patterns, right? If so, I believe they should be fair game if it can't be done indefinitely. Otherwise, they'd probably go to Moons.

Doesn't fix it for me. So I guess I'm gonna leave that for another publisher for now.

Here's an image of how the D3D11 dump looks like for me.

And it synced for me as well on PAL 1.01: (note that this is just before the input ends, but it's just a few a few A presses from that point) Anyways, that was a nicely explosive watch. Yes vote.

I'll still have to do more testing myself, i.e. if it syncs on 1.1 for me, just to figure out what the cause is.

Unfortunately, the TAS desyncs for me after the jungle (first Donkey and Diddy Kong stage) on version 1.0 of the game (which is the version I own) on either OpenGL or D3D11. It fails to select Pit for the next stage. This was on an AMD Ryzen 7 4800H processor with an nVidia RTX 3060 GPU. The previous TAS synced fine for me, though that was on an Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor and an nVidia GTX 1060 GPU. Not sure if that makes a difference, though.

Can confirm this TAS syncs on Dolphin 5.0 as well. Anyway, that was a pretty enjoyable watch. I actually found it pretty funny when you entered Adventure Mode (to set up for a glitch). The fact that the names of the authors who worked on the various stages is a nice touch. Yes vote.

I can safely confirm that the verification movie produces the save RAM used in this submission.

From my understanding, ScummVM is a source port that can run games that use the SCUMM engine. This begs the question: As the games themselves were originally either released for DOS or Windows, how should they be classified as? Should they be under the platform they were originally released at (DOS, Windows), or should they be under the source port the game effectively runs at (ScummVM)? In my opinion, they should be under the former, which, while it does require checking on various websites, guarantees that the game is under the correct platform the game was originally released in.

I wholeheartedly agree with the proposal to remove the tiering labels entirely, and we should absolutely shift away from entertainment being a factor when a movie gets submitted. It's just an arbitrary factor to me.

I also have concerns with the tweak that needs to be used in order to play as Zero from the beginning. From my understanding, the tweaks patcher allows one to customise a large variety of stuff (which I won't really get into detail). From my understanding, it effectively hard-mods the ISO with whatever tweaks you have selected. I'd consider the tool itself as using cheats, and thus shouldn't be allowed IMO. As an aside, Zero is still referred to as X in the dialogue.

Our team now has a name: The Trans-Atlantic TASers The meaning behind it is simple: One half of our team lives in the USA, another half lives in Europe. Therefore, we each other live on the other side of the Atlantic.
