jlun2, not quite. The new memory card i would switch to will not be empty. It will contain a save file which was created at the start of the movie.
Does the movie input file include the time it took to create the new save file at the start of the movie?
Yes, of course, just not the time needed to copy the save file.
Copy as in literally pressing "ctrl+c" and "ctrl+v" on the memory card file on your computer? If not, can you please youtube it to hopefully clear off some confusion?

1. I agree with Warepire 2. How about a compromise? The one in the TASVideosChannel would not be linked to, but still be public, while the movie page links to yours. Why not private/unlisted? Well, what's the point of uploading to that channel if noone knows it exists? So with this compromise, hopefully your run will get more views since the one on the TASVideos channel requires people to actually look it up instead of simply going to the movie page. 3. Idk, but I still don't get how they managed to monetize gameplay videos yet I can't. Oh well. :P

Is there any use of this trick other than skipping a minor confirmation box? Also, let me get this straight: You start recording in Dolphin just like how everyone else does for a TAS; with a blank memory card and from power on. You then TAS all the way to a save point. You then switch the memory card with another blank, new memory card, and save into that. This is then repeated everytime you want to save, as to prevent the "Are you sure you want to overwrite this file?" message from appearing. This ends up saving ~4 seconds in your TAS. Did I get everything correct? If so, I think that's fine, since in the TAS, you still start from a new card (as in, no save file), and in a TAS, it's also under the assumption that you can swap a card without the physical limitation of time. If that's not what you mean, then nevermind.

Just when I thought I read basically every type of "X is a changling" fic, I found this....strange "tragic" fic. This is almost as ridiculous as the original version of this story's climax where it was revealed that the changling drone was infact a changling queen! In other words, the changling was a changling. >.>

Alright, so I realized I didn't have to be a moron and could look on YT for a video... so yeah. Before you get onto the Jet Ski, you activate the Ditman glitch and then hop on. Leon will then zoom forward on an invisible jet ski for a few seconds. It will zap 1-2 seconds of your savings, but the trade off is too priceless to ignore! Mr. Kelly R. Flewin
But wouldn't that be sort of....out of place? I mean, for the majority of the run, it's focused on being as fast as possible.

3 shots from the Broken Butterfly, then a RL will kill him. I redid it and managed a 1:35:14, for an improvement of 9 seconds. I am currently encoding the video, and will have it up in the next day or so.
Wait....kill? You mean you skipped the Ada cutscene? Awesome!

For the game I'm TASing, Nanashi no Game, that seems to be the case.

Sorry for taking so long just to complete 1 room, but I had do redo this session after I found out that while the regret is slow as a snail, it moves fast enough so that by the time you reach the exit, it's away enough not trigger it into chasing you. In other words, there's not enough time to fool around abit. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/6388053166355384 Day 4 completed: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/6435278248946388

Uh....it's not exactly "professional". In fact, alot of TAS's rely on monitoring the game's memory to know where things are. :P

Well done SoulCal ! For the final fight, my last and fastest strat is to fire a killer7 bullet in the left eye to stun the boss, fire a second bullet in the main eye laying on the ground and a rocket. With this strat you can cross the bridge before it goes down. Unfortunately you don't have enough money to buy the Killer7, maybe you should take the 50.000 pesetas of U3...
Well, how much health does the last boss have in the TAS? Maybe a broken butterfly may work.

In this morning I tried alot way for improve speed, but I think grenades make enemies respawn time to slow down Here's preview my other test with 2 grenades killed 5 enemies and 1 killed 6. Slower with example video only have 136 frames: http://youtu.be/v4q758xQuK4 If you want try it, here's my movie file (fceux 2.2.1) : http://www.mediafire.com/?dtrw0dbm9u3yqh9 With you, what way look for cool in my run?
I think it's possible that you didn't optimize the grenades. Did you try this? 1. blinking tank appears 2. Kill blinking tank 3. Grenade appears 4. Go infront of grenade 5. Next tank appears 6. Grab grenade Btw, you have 2 players, so it's alot simpler to manipulate the grenade to appear at the first hit. Just fidget the 2nd player around and use the first tank to kill the blinking tank. Edit: In case you don't know what I mean, the drops are determined by input of both players.

Hi SoulCal! I've read in Youtube that you are considering buying the Broken butterfly to kill the last boss. Well, according to this, the Killer 7 is stronger, so you might want to buy that instead.

Splitting Nintendo DS music to separate audio channels. Link to video Could anyone explain how this could be done? It would be quite a useful resource.
Open game in DeSmuME. Go to tools > View Sound State. Disable all but one state. Record the audio for that. Disable that stat and enable the next. Record the audio for that. Repeat.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obesity#History Maybe eventually, the preferred size would stabilize and settle down to something realistic (and healthy), but we'll all probably be dead by then.

I'm a competitive Pokémon player myself, and for this and other reasons, I'd get very suspicious if someone insisted on hosting all their wi-fi battles with me. It shouldn't matter for official tournaments, because those are played from the title screen (thus being harder to manipulate), and the DS isn't powered off from one game to the next. (I can still see it being theoretically possible to cheat under those circumstances; e.g. you could power it off and on again without the event staff watching; but the event staff would have a reasonable opportunity to catch someone cheating like that, the same way that they'd have a reasonable opportunity to catch someone switching their cart.) I guess I'd rather the knowledge be public simply because someone else might have already determined the information, and been cheating with it, without such a strong sense of honour. (BTW, if this works on Poké Balls too, the information would be very useful in preparing for tournaments; we could RNG the catches as well as the Pokémon's stats.) But yeah, if someone manages to top the GBU ladder with this (preferably singles, because doubles is used for all official tournaments), it'd be a clear sign to TPCi that something is broken. They wouldn't be able to fix it before probably the sequels to X/Y, though.
Tbh, the simplest way to cheat undetected is to use a program like pokesave.

In my opinion, while Kaphotics decision is a honourable one, it is also in vain since there's no way you can prevent cheating in any situation. Especially in games where there's a reasonable payoff and absolutely no real long term consequences for cheating. (Getting banned doesn't count as anyone can create another account and continue cheating).

Also known as " Nanashi no Geemu", this is a first person survival horror game published by Square Enix that didn't get an international release despite being popular enough to spawn a squeal....3 times, simply because you can't shoot fight anything. Given that I TAS'd half of this game already as a joke, I might as well continue it. I'll post the WIP once I get everything back in sync. Here it is: <removed> The game was surprisingly hex edit-friendly, as all I did was add 3 frames to it and it synced all the way....until around frame 42900 where the lag frame mysteriously delayed itself for some reason. It also desynced at frame 67880 and 79860 but it was easily fixed by adding 1 frame.
