Uh....you said so yourself:
Superplay/Does not aim for fastest time
Sorry if I misunderstood you.

Hi all ! First, I need to say, I'm just a gamer, not a progam or coder, then I can't understand what's debug/reverse/assembly/etc I'm just a gamer, I have played alot games on NES/SNES/PSX/PS2/PS3/Arcade/etc (but not professional). I'm just watched TAS videos and I loved it, then I want try come to TAS. With a gamer for game control with emulators, save load is only best way. I'm just know TASEditor few days ago and now I'm still training it (on fceux only, BizHawk is too hard for me understand it).If emulators have any way can make easy for use then I think it's will easy more than for original gamers. I want make many games but I can't make perfect way, too many things hard rock for me can understand it. That's why I have start with what easiest for me Back to my problem in Battle City, in my said. The items depend something after 1 frame when it got killed. Example: if P1 have killed special tank, after 1 frame, if P1 have inpud Up key then I'll have star item, else if P1 have inpud Down key then I'll have other item. With P2 too, with P2 everything changed after 1 frame it got killed, it will change item. I have crazy with it. Because I need exactly item and I need where the item appearance too This's not hard in frames control, it's hard in luck control. Please try it in few stages then maybe you'll understand what I mean. I'm just using TASEditor for control 2 players in same time
Well, I'm not a programmer/coder either, but I managed to do runs like this without any knowledge of the address for the RNG simply because of trail and error. I don't give up on a task. I might take a (long) break, but I come back and try each time.

I have a feeling that it's just an oversight though. :P But some clarification would help.

Uh..there's only 1 line, which you already quoted earlier. So, does this belong to the vault despite not being the fastest time?

A companion series, Equestria Girls, is set to premiere in the second quarter of 2013, where the main characters from the show will be re-envisioned as humanized characters attending school.
You know, this is great and all, but why do I have this feeling that Twilight will be like 1 late assignment-enduced panic attack from shooting her school? 0_o

Never give up. TASing is never easy. Unless of course, you're simply using tools to beat the game. Otherwise, an optimized TAS takes alot of patience and time; hence why you don't see a "TAS of the year" popping up every day or so.

This seems to be in the wrong tier. It's listed as a playaround in both the submission text and movie page, but it's in the vault tier. :P

Huh. How did I missed this movie? That was quite entertaining! Just wondering why it isn't in the OfficialTASVideos channel whether or not I should make a playaround myself. Not for this game, of course! I never managed to beat the game in real time don't know much about the mechanics of this game, so I'll think of something else. This was really inspiring though! :)

Both this submission and the modified WIP de-synced for you? Ok, thanks, I'll redo that part. :P

Ace of Skies - Set in WW2, the final boss is.....of dubious historical accuracy. Powder Games - Somewhat interactive physics simulator-ish game. Over The Hedge - Gave me hours of fun not because of the gameplay, but because of the OoB glitches I found that are incredibly easy to pull off.

I seem to have a problem getting it to playback on DeSmuME for some reason. It keeps desyncing at around frame 18800. It tries to turn around, and stops too early, causing it to get stuck. This is odd considering I used the same input file to do the encodes, so can someone try to play it back? If it works, can you try to play this back too? It's basically the same file but with a modified date: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/6323500035322355 Thanks!

Hey, I would like to report a bug. In the game, Nanashi no Geemu, during the cursed game stages, clicking "View Sound State" under tools and then pressing the down arrow causes the emulator to crash.

Wait, wouldn't a pacifist run basically be HappyLee's "warped" run just with all the enemy stomping removed? Does that really warrant a new category?

People can use their own websites and youtube channels for content they find appealing but is unsuitable to the site's purpose. We're TASpeedruns after all,and i'm glad changes were made for the pure speed entertainmentless runs(like mtvf1's work with Battle Chip Challenge),but it would just be uncharacteristic to do the complete opposite.
There's nothing in TASing that would disallow additional goals in addition to completing the game as fast as possible.
People keep forgetting that the "S" in TAS can also mean Superplay, not just speedrun. :P

No semi-sarcasm this time. Speedruns with "intended" routes are even harder to make due to the current level of quality most popular games runs were done at.
Does "intended route" also account for "intended gameplay"? Sometimes, game mechanics have unintended side effects that the game devs never thought of. See this for examples. Edit: No, it doesn't have to be glitch related. For example, in the MMORPG I'm playing, there's this minigame that requires players to compete with each other. Well, eventually, it was found that NOT killing each other and instead helping each other results in faster games. :P

New WIP, possibly the last one before I publish the run. <video> So I found out that hex editing out 1 subframe before every pause will make the pauses 1 frame shorter, and I did this for the whole video here. However, the emulator itself is incapable of produce the necessary button presses for this to happen, so should this even be allowed? If I did this for the entire run, it would save 1 second for every 30 pauses or when using key items.
Nice! I love how you managed to get past the stage without Mike or whoever he was destroy any of the buildings. Is that even possible in real time? Btw, have you tried filing a bug report?

Ok, so I looked through this TAS again, and just realized that the the last area is right next to the first area that the player starts off. That's an....odd choice to place an evil lair. That's like having a hideout for a criminal organization right next to a police station. Nice TAS and I hope to see the "Julius Mode" version get the same treatment (or better). :)

Thanks! Did you encode this? How'd you get it to sync? What I mean is, at 3:29 of the encode, when I play back the input file, I get a desync message and then the ball misses the blue platform, causing it to die. :/

2 players is faster. oh, and this:
Kills made by the grenade doesn't count at the end of the tally, so to save time, I would have to stall until the blinking red tank appears, destroy it, wait for 6 tanks to spawn, then blow them all up.

Hi, we made a new site which might be interesting for some here because we make tool-assisted movies but no speedruns. We thought about possibilities to make gameplay interesting in a different way and with a different goal than speed only. So we decided that our goals are entertainment and playing the game as it was meant to be played. In some cases bug using is impressive but sometimes this might be too much to follow the gameplay itself. You find us on http://EnterPlayment.net and our YouTube channel on http://youtube.com/EnterPlaymentNet Maybe one or another already found us on YouTube or our page itself and for those who did not yet I wanted to give a chance to do so. I want to make clear that I do not want to misuse this forum for advertising but I thought that due to the tool-assisted related topic this could be interesting. We already got several videos of games like the following examples: Thank you
First, see this thread. Second, playing the game as it was meant to be played? I would love to argue about it, but I can't be bothered, so just read this article.

Is it possible/allowed to use a rewriteable cartridge for this? That'll make testing much cheaper.
I don't think it is allowed for final runs, but for testing yes. Note that many rewritable carts have extra stuff at startup that screws timings.
So unless it doesn't do that, I don't think it would work.

Hey GhostSonic. Do you happen to own a copy of Earthbound? I would love to see this run on console. :)
