My assignment was to code a simple calculator. For some reason, that inspired me to draw one:

So haters can demonstrate how they have superior morals and ethical standards compared to bronies while at the same time make them all look like crazy, sex-hungry zoophiles with absolutely no redeeming qualities whatsoever despite that being a very harsh generalization since not everyone is into the show just for the pony porn. Or you can just say:

A new route huh? You know, you guys seem to have alot of knowledge with gb(c) glitching. There are some runs which can definitely be improved with memory corruption glitches that you guys might be interested in. Check it out. :)

I really doubt the TAS looks different from that RTS.
Who cares? There's the vault tier now! :D Also, bumping this since I'm going to see if using these cheat codes can make the passwords deterministic in Hourglass. Edit: It's not. Also, even with the use of cheat engine, I couldn't find the location of the passwords. Btw, if you used CE to find your position, a pointer scan will come out blank for some reason.

Wow. I don't know the Glitched run by heart, but remember it. When I watched the verification, I saw nothing different from what I remembered. I was excited the glitch works all the way through and thought it was the same exact run. Name the differences that can be seen by an untrained eye. AFTER setting the flag I was said it's LOL COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THING, but wanted to keep the flag because "everything still works out on a console". This is what kind of logic it is.
The trick being possible on a console doesnt mean the input file syncs. Or else the latest SMB warpless run would be console verified as well, despite not syncing on console.

I'm not brute forcing. I'm making AI compete. Game enthusiasts can describe their playing style in something near English. That's the API. That's game-specific. For example, in Zelda 1, if there is a health drop, rupee drop, and bomb drop, how would they AI know which one to pick up? I can think of 3 different AIs right away. Right? But it all depends on the circumstance. Anyway, the parameters of how to value competing interests are game specific.
Then wouldn't it be better to just make a bot with set goals instead of an entire API which can only be used for one game and nothing else? Like this for example.

It would be neat if APIs for specific games were readily available, so as to write AIs for them without having to worry about the low-level technicals. AI classes could be made and recombined with different weights. Conservative, risky, values this more, values that more. This is far more computationally tractable than brute forcing game trees. Many subtrees get shaved off. Including potentially optimal solutions. But that's the price you pay for the tractability. Wouldn't it be fun to have AI competitions for games, even if they come out slower than human TASes?
Wait, why would you need an entire API to automate bruteforcing specific games? For games in general, I would understand, but for specific games? I thought the only reason for specific games was if it were for botting online games like MMORPG's, where there are usually "anti-bot" features implemented so you would need to implement an API like this for example so the bot wouldn't get stuck.

Me too. After all, isn't purple simply another term for pink? Proof: This shirt's ingame examine text says that it's Pink. Over here in an article written by the devs, it is said that it's actually Fuchsia. Since both are made by the same people, therefore they are both correct. So: Pink = Fuchsia Fuchsia = Red/Purple Therefore I can conclude that Purple = Pink [/insane logic]

What irony? MlP is clearly for men; it has the color of pink in it! Even with a man's game such as Predator knows that! You know the plot. A special forces team led by Alan "Dutch" Schaefer dressed in hot pink go on a mission to rescue hostages in central America. .... What?

For example most of the Super Mario 64 tas had to be tweaked due to a ton of desync.
Uh...not exactly. According to this post, SoulCal only changed the format to make it work with the bot. Otherwise, the frame count and button data is exactly the same:

However I did have to modify the hell out of the m64 to play it back right, but all frame and button data is the exact same (just some formatting).

I think you mean the bounce direction of fishes desyncs, which caused by a different in-game timer value. So if you removed that 1 frame and it syncs, it means there was an extra 1 frame in the file or the emulator had an extra lag frame.
Does this still count if only 1 frame at the very beginning was removed/skipped?

As a bonus, here's the "credits glitch" working on a console by replaying Masterjun's proof with my bot. Link to video The only thing I had to sync it was program the bot to skip 1 frame ahead, which I guess All-Stars wasn't so picky about.

How much did you edit it (the polls sequence)?
I only added frames in the game select screen in order for it to sync on the regular All-Stars rom/cart. Everything else remains untouched.
Does that sync on the regular All-Stars rom on an emulator too?

Nice! Btw, haven't heard of any complaints about desyncs and the disk swap feature, so I'm kinda surprised that dolphin is more stable than another emulator which emulates an even older console.

I'd like to see Gameboy/GBC/GBA handheld verifications. Those would be the easiest to make a bot for I would think. How accurate is gameboy emulation? Since the GBA plays GB and GBC games, wouldn't a bot on GBA be the best, or are there issues with how GBA handles older games (less lag, faster processing, etc?)
Does the GB(C/A) poll for input or anything during the beginning startup? If so, would the input file still be acceptable as "verified" if it were to be eddited to pass the startup?
