Out of 1000 currently published movies, there's been 3 in-game timer any% runs that I know of, Super Metroid and 2 Punchout games. I think it is safe to assume realtime. Should it ever come up, we could maybe make an exception.
Actually, there's 35 runs that aim for in-game time, but some of them, like Kung Fu, Mr. Driller 2, etc, only have 1 branch, and the main branch focus on in-game time. Would those runs be obsoleted by a faster real-time based run?

Why should we publish a category that isn't the fastest? Because there's some kind of entertainment value, or audience. Therefore it should be judged based on moon requirements (which involves audience response).
I agree. But what about the real-time/in-game time branches?

A TAS does exactly the same, but with great precision. Fun is not a factor, speed is.

What about graphical remakes too?

No because it wouldn't be a vault submission, it would be _a_ submission. Your vote would be "I did not find this movie entertaining, no". And without sufficient audience response, but still a speedrun record, it would be a vault publication.
Can publications obsolete a higher tier one? Or would it be separate?

Please add that to the submission text, so viewers get an idea what the heck is going on.
Sorry, wait. Brb Edit: Done! Also, for the run, this is an example of what I meant in this post about "simple deterministic games".

Since this is clearly going to be accepted, excuse me as I go make some TAS's. ;)

Did you read the vault requirements? Entertainment value is not a significant consideration. When I mean "bad game choice", I also mean lack of entertainment value.
Oops, sorry, didn't noticed the link. Brb. Edit: Ok, for the vault, will games that don't really require "TAS-like" elements (Warioware, simple deterministic games, etc)be accepted into the vault as long as it meets the requirements?

Any plans to improve add N64 emulation? It seems that the one currently used is de-sync prone, and kinda dead in development.

Should game choice be abolished as a rejection reason?
Then judges/voters will probably use {lack of) entertainment as a reason for rejection. Some games mentioned above (Fisher Price, Endless, etc) are almost impossible to make an entertaining run out of it, so you might as well say they are bad game choices.

Then why bother sticking to Snes9x?
Figures. I'll stick with Snes9x then, despite being less accurate (but still way more so than Zsnes ever was).

That would force the rater to have played, and even better, TASed the game to be able to have an opinion in the matter, no? Or are we trying to make educated guesses, which is a really, really bad idea as history will tell?
Ratings should not be taken seriously, since anyone could go around giving 10/10's to their favourite TAS's.

Voted no for this. While this is a cool glitch showcased here, anybody can reproduce this sequence of events very easily. It would just take a couple of attempts to reproduce this by hand with frame-perfection.
That also applies to most Atari games. :P Anyway, I made the run 3 frames faster + walks around a bit (instead of in straight lines): http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/2136420456955757 Can a judge or moderator please replace the run with the above file?

How does one normally beat this game, and what glitch or method is being used to beat it faster? It's not clear.
From Wikipedia:
The player(s) takes control of the DC Comics character Superman, who must repair the bridge destroyed by Lex Luthor, capture Luthor and his criminal underlings, enter a phonebooth to turn back into Clark Kent, then return to the Daily Planet in the shortest amount of time. To slow Superman's progress, Kryptonite has been released by Luthor. If hit by Kryptonite, Superman loses his abilities to capture criminals and fly. To regain them, he must find and kiss Lois Lane.
The glitch I abused involves pausing the game, which after a while, goes into this "Demo" mode where it loops through the whole game (kinda like a preview of it). If you move, normally, it would unpause the game and put you back to where you were. But if you were on a door, it glitches and allows you to enter. I take the subway (yes, that's what the yellow room is) and go to the daily planet to end the game. Note: if the bridge collapse is triggered, you can't win by going to the daily planet. You must do all that crap I listed instead.

Btw, I've just noticed something. HOW COULD YOU NOT USE FRAME 4 AS A SCREENSHOT? THAT WAS THE BEST PART OF THE GAME! WHY? Proof:

Reasons why this should be accepted: - Glitchy - Half the length of ET - A normal run would make people fall asleep - Short enough for an Atari run - I fly as an average citizen:

So which is more accurate, then? FCEUX or BizHawk? BizHawk should sync this game just as well, if not better.
Check this out. Not sure if it applies to 1.2, but its possible it does if NES emulation hasn't been updated yet.
