I'm about to finish World 3! I'll post the WIP once I'm done, but for now, here's a screenshot of frame 37447: Edit: World 3 done.

Do you know anyone who can lend you some games to try?

Great news! The newest VBA version removes alot of lag from the game! I know emulation flaws shouldn't count as an "improvement", but since it is supposingly more accurate, I guess I can use it! Here's a WIP of the first world made from scratch, using all the tricks I know so far along with vba-v24m-svn422. Edit: And here's world 2.

I didn't mean to start a controversy here! This movie can and will be published even if it can't sync on the new PPU, and most certainly be published even if it can't be console verified. I'd also like to point out that I merely speculated that this movie may not sync on a real console, nobody has even tried to see if that's true.
So...Has anyone tested it out yet? I really hope it syncs.

Yea, since anyone can make a 10 second windows game and make a TAS of it. =O

Oh, I forgot to mention. The reason I used vba-v24m-svn422 instead of VBA22 is because the glitch is SLOWER in VBA22 than in vba-v24m-svn422 due to the "glitched" moe appearing here: Can anyone please verify which moe behavior is correct?

Like Ilari asked, why 0 rerecords? The purpose of this site is to use tools like rerecords, so why not use them?

Someone with a copy of SMB and a Nesbot should try this again. I know adelikat tried, but he got a desync. But he used a different cart. If the original version of SMB desyncs for this, I hope HappyLee can redo that part. After all, it seems highly unlikely this run will ever be improved, and we can't just "resync" old movies.

I reached the boss room nearly 4000 frames faster! LOL! Hax Neat trick, right? Took me forever to find this! Now how do I beat the last boss... Edit: Oh, and I believe there might be an improvement somewhere in the first stage or something. There is. LOL

Great job, HappyLee. I think, faster could be only this.
LOL! Too bad that would count as a "warp". ^^

EDIT: It turns out this movie desyncs with the new PPU on 3-1, the trick in the screenshot actually causes lag and makes the trick fail. I would suspect the same thing would happen if console verified (DarkKobold, care to try?)
I hope it doesn't. But if it does desync, well, I read somewhere that SMB is very deterministic, so maybe that part can be fixed without much trouble? I just hope HappyLee won't mind.

adelikat, do you have a NESBot along with a copy of SMB? I would love to see this amazing run done on a console. :)

Wow. It's finally done. I want to vote yes immediately, but I have to watch the movie first. Wait... Edit: Watched it on emulator. It was amazing! Yes vote.

Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but what's your opinion on this?

I stumbled across this thread again, and decided to finish the run! But now I'm stuck at the first form of the boss. I can't seem to repeat what I did for the first hit. If anyone wants to help, here's the wip. Oh, and since I only had vba-v24m-svn422 on my documents, I resynced everything and redid the autoscroller before attempting the boss. So the run only works on that version. Edit: Btw, I have a feeling that the parts before it can still be improved. I'll try right now. Edit 2: I was right. I skipped the autoscroller stage. LOL

Uh....What's with the rerecord count and the "No"'s? Also, despite being 1 player, it's alot slower than the current 2 player run. I'm not sure if this is normal.

To the people who think a "glitchless"/ less glitched run is better for the 100% run, what happens if sometime in the future, a heavily glitched 100% run is made? Would it obesolete the less-glitched 100% run? Or branch off another catagory? Edit: Oh, btw, I'm against not using certain glitches; this game doesn't really need another branch in my opinion.

Well, since I've been trying to start a new TAS on this, there's been two questions that I want to know before starting. 1. Could I use ingame cheats to unlock incredibly powerful Denjuu, but NOT use it, just for the sake of wasting time? 2. Also, since the glitch state takes at minimum 13 minutes to pull off, wouldn't it be faster to improve the current run using the same strategy instead? Since even after the state is triggered, it takes time to manipulate the credits, if that's even possible. BTW, here's some results of testing with the glitch state: 1. Crash game 2. Goes to a battle; Crashes almost immediately 3. Goes to the title screen 4. Goes to the intro movie 5. Goes to the screen where you use exp items 6. Dupes inventory items 7. Change your phone version 8. Infinite text scroll 9. Add Denjuu as seen 10. Changes the color of the game 11. Nothing happens 12. Glitchy Music 13. Warp to a new tile/area 14. Reload the screen 15. Goes to the menu 16. Combination of above

I managed to improve the second giant rat battle by better luck manipulation and the use of Mucus ad Nauseum. I'll post a WIP once I manage to resync everything.
