First you throw away Master balls, and now you throw away entire floors. What's next, the game itself? o.0

I just tried the Super Gameboy version, and it seems to be slightly different. Like at the same room you've tried, instead of reseting the game if certain spots are reached, it takes me to another room. Also, there's a wall infront of the slope for some reason.

Mugg, there's other versions of Wario land 2, right? So maybe, after the release of vba 24, we should test the other versions?

Also, please note: Klmz said WL2 has increased lag between the rooms (~10 additional lag frames) in the upcoming VBA-24.
Does this mean we have to wait until the next vba version?

This is what I mean by the 20 frame improvements. WIP Also, this door ends the 3rd stage quickly. WIP

Sorry for not posting anything, but I've been trying to find a door Oob in "The Really Final Chapter" to see if it can lead to either the exit or the treasure room. Also, I've been messing around with the reset glitch effect and trying to make something interesting out of it due to the fact that it reduces around 20 frames of lag in every room. I'll post a WIP showing what I mean later.

Wow. Just wow. I somehow warped to another stage after "winning" in the last stage with the oob glitch. Also, after returning from a bonus stage, the screen turned black, and only I ended up wandering around blind. I'll post those Wips after some more testing. Last Stage "Warp" Working Warp (As in the stage works without glitches)

AndyD, I found these address that might help with Walljumping. It changes (sometimes) depending on Wario's x position. C660 - Signed (2 bytes) Also, Wario's air? and status addresses C657 - Signed (1 byte) C750 - Signed (1 byte) The frame before C750 turns to 30, move the opposite direction for one frame. Next, move towards the wall. It sometimes won't work, so C660 might help you know where you are. BTW, I just discovered that the "reset" glitch gets rid of Load times, so rooms and cutscences look wierd. I'll post a WIP about it later.

Out of Bounds Movies: 1. Wining Out of Bounds 2. Glitch World + Freeze 3. Reset Cursed Wario 4. Opcode Error More to appear. Btw, most of the time, if you save, it'll reset and start you back at the beggining. However, there are several places that can be saveable. Also, the majority of the doors that you stumble upon in the "Glitched World" seem to either reset the game, or takes you to some room. Lastly, if the Reset Warning could be triggered like this, maybe the credits can be too?

I've seem to have found a way to get out of bounds. Is it useful? I'll post a WIP of it after I clean it up a bit. Edit: WIP It seems that if done on the other side, we might get to skip stages. More testing needed. Edit 2: Saving there causes wierd results, like infinite spawning coins, water patches, etc. Edit 3: Ending a stage, saving, or entering any room may cause resetting. Also, somehow managed to freeze the game.

Also, before you enter the last boss room, please postthe WIP here, in case of possible improvement, as the last boss can't be hexed in.

I lost 2 frames in the last room though, somehow. But I didn't try the published run's input (again). I didn't investigate this much but maybe changing the direction before getting stomped might help. Please take a look at the rooms and tell me if they are OK. I will need to take a look at the last room again though.
Managed to save 4 frames by the end of the stage. Also, at the room after the FireFox, saved 2 frames but lost them due to a frame rule. WIP

According to AndyD, it works only when the screen is in transition. It causes enemies to move during the transition, allowing very slight manipulation of enemies. Edit: New trick discovered, saves 124 frames at the tunnel room. WIP.

Sorry that it took too long, but here it is, an 8 frame improvement using tricks that were barely used in the previous run. WIP.

Nice! This is very neat! I'll see if anything can be improved on the second level. Good Luck! Edit: What......I just clipped slightly into the wall. Edit2: I just saved 4 frames at the second level compared to Mugg's. I'll see how much his route can be improved.

Originally an improvement of around 4 frames, AndyD convinced me there could be more room for improvement, which ended up being 25 frames. So I would like to thank him once more for all his work. The updated run could be found here. I'm not sure if there could be any major savings unless a new trick is found.

I still think there is room for some improvement, it's just a matter of finding them. But I know that a lot of the screens are now perfectly optimized, unless there is a new movement/dash/glitch yet to discover.

Also, there's a 4 frame rule to everything, so you either save 4 frames, or lose 4 frames.
Uh....I managed to save 2 frames at the first part of Stage 2 - 1, which due to the frame rule, ended up saving 2 more frames. I was unable to hex edit the final batte back in, so please excuse me while that particular part is redone. Sorry for the encoders (Flygon) who now have to reencode the run.

He ended the fight with a jump kick into the star; we did a jump dive. Ours takes 1 frame longer, but it doesn't look as cool imo. It's an easy fix of just activating the text closer to the star.
I'm afraid I have to disagree. You shouldn't submit a purposely suboptimal run. Or the publisher should flag it as "contains speed/entertainment tradeoffs" which would be ridiculous. Hex in that other frame, please.
I feel sorry for Aktan for having to encode so many times.

Could you explain the pause in 2-2 for me? Otherwise there's nothing glaring that I could see, unless perhaps you could save a frame or two by not picking up the penguin in 2-5.
The pause was used after AndyD discovered that enemies move immediately during a screen transition after the game was paused, allowing the Firefox to be slightly closer to Wario than the previous run. Oh, and the penguin saved 2 frames if picked up.

Config -> Emulation Settings -> General -> Enable Advanced Bus-Level Timing Make sure the last option is unchecked, then reset the emulator and play the movie.

I saw the run, and I would just like to say it is amazing! I like the part before the Impact site where you juggled multiple balls at once!
