So...does the trick actually save time and this was a mistake, or that trick ended up being slower?

Hey, since this game is still quite bad, and chances are a "glitchless" would not be vaulted unless it also coincidentally happens to be a 100% and at the same time proven to be faster glitchless, does the "warp glitch" branch need to be there? There's a tag to categorize this, wasn't there? Edit: Voted no, since this was still rather slow paced.

Which domain is 0x0200xxxx?

So, according to the paste, this is J only, and simply because elevator doors work there? Lol?

The delayed ending was oddly fitting considering how slow the game seems to load. :P

I tried seeing the code but:
File was deleted from server. File was deleted by owner or exceeded maximum storage time (100 days from last download).

Awesome! I wonder when points for picture is generated. maybe there's a value we can find that determines how good a picture is. then again.. im not entirely sure how pokemon snap really works. time to watch some videos!

Pictures are not actually rendered until the course is exited. The photo has separate depth copies for the Pokemon and terrain and assembles them later for the final picture. Using these depth copies, the game can tell various statistics about the picture. When a picture is chosen for evaluation, the game calculates the scores based on the statistics.
Here you go. Also kinda....interesting that an emulator inside an emulator runs this but a certain other emulator still can't. lol

I suddenly had this idea, but how possible is it to code a button to instantly jump to one of the controller's input anytime? Because then it would/may allow using super mario all stars + super mario world rom and "hopping" between levels of different mario games. I know the idea sounds kinda silly, but at least it would really stand out from other ACE playarounds. :P

I've been wondering, but: How much time must it save before it becomes slower?

For those against pausing, since there's 2 tiers, technically one could make 2 movies for 2 different tiers. One without pausing (if its entertaining enough) and the other with anything goes. :P

Well....if you can, is there a way to play around with naming? The Pokemon Firered TAS for example changes the name to "I" so it would say things like "I threw a pokeball" or the like. :P

I know nothing of Doom demos, but... Given that they are judged competitively with other demos, and not real time runs, how exactly does cheating occur if technically everyone has the same access for tools? I know if the game records positions that would make runs several seconds long, but what happens if someone made an "invalid" argument (whatever that may be) for this particular format? Does the game utilize it, or does it ignore it? In fact how abusible is this format?

Uh, sorry about this, but.... I noticed kinda late that by using the "quick play" option, I can skip directly to the golf stage: I can't skip further than that. Turns out it only plays the golf stage, then goes back to the main menu. Welp that's a downer. Speaking of golf stage, it seems if I cheated and tried to cross the finish line without collecting everything, it won't count.

Not exactly relevant but:

Assuming in the late future, emulation improves, and even that game becomes an outdated legend, I was wondering what people knew about this game when aiming for the fastest time possible is the goal. After all, this is my most favorite RPG. It has a lot of unique techniques and enhancements, the option of a No-Damage run, and a great storyline to boot (which would unfortunately be skimmed through very briefly in a speedrun). In particular, I don't know of any real glitches in this game, particularly not the abusable kind. And what would be the optimal badges to use? In particular, is quick change, an incredible badge in normal play, worth it in a speedrun? What star pieces should be collected, etc, etc?
Hindsight is quite funny at times. >.<

Note that that game has an actual story progression an a well defined ending, so I think it fully qualifies for vault.
This at a glance seems like a good reason to allow certain board games, but then it could allow something like this, which has less "gameplay" than Myst. Also there was an arguement somewhere regarding most "Go" AI is quite crap, but that's a different problem.

Sorry to hijack, but since you're a judge, what to do with a similar situation I encountered? :|

Huh. This does beat the game though, but if it really is a problem, I guess I can try splicing in as much as possible. :P Notes: *Tournament mode is the only mode that shows credits *Speed seems fixed at 155-160, so I'm thinking of getting 50k+ score instead of going in a straight line.

Hey, given how short the game is like, I'm curious how you managed to shave 3 seconds. Please elaborate?

As godawful as this game is, shouldn't it, as mentioned in the WIP thread, really be the entire tournament, not just the last stage?
Well, it let me chose any of the stages, and I can't seem to find any rule that disallows this assuming it doesn't use passwords whatsoever. Hence:
Probably vaultable

@kura I went and submitted this because given your history, you tend to create threads and generally don't finish them. Sorry about that. Also I actually do achieve 1st place, at the end of the run:
