I believe you need editor rights, which you don't.

Oh please yes, having both this route and the N64 one published would be awesome! I don't know what are the rules for VC runs though, are they considered ports or is their status different?
Not sure. I asked before, but never really got an answer for VC in general. :P

Edit 2: actually, the game is just crashing randomly oob. Probably has to due with the yakuza fight. Hopefully it's not just an emulator issue. Edit 3: got some blocks to change. I forgot that the level data is also stored near tileset data, so changes to just the appearance of tiles are a good sign. The emulator is really prone to crashing though, so it worries me a bit.
Hey, what emulator are you using? Does that happen on every one of them so far?

If tomorrow, some submitted some 10 odd chess TASes, I doubt it'd go over well. And to illustrate how much redundancy is possible, there are nearly 50 different mahjong games (and almost 30 pachinko!) on the SNES alone. How much variation do you expect is between all of them?
This seems like a more pressing issue than chess differences. I'm not sure how to draw the line for cases like that. :o

If we are entering an era in which developers are adding or sanctioning the addition of TAS tools to their games, we need to react to that and destroy any and all barriers to submissions created with such tools. This is an amazing thing that we really, really want to encourage and support.
While that's great, imo it would be even better to have a general tool that TASes multiple games rather than specific tools to TAS a single game.

Man this post gives us all the reason to add a Demo tier. RESEARCH! And development. If one develops a script like Jetpack Mario, I'd be all for publishing a movie that demonstrates it (if it's done optimally o course). If someone develops a bot that records some movie, we'd have a reason to showcase it. If someone puts research into figuring out how to best manipulate CPU's actions in a board game, there'd be a place for it. But the question should become "was research/development (put into this otherwise unfitting movie) impressive?" And that way tiers would be absolutely clear: speed-oriented, entertainment-oriented, research/development-oriented.
Makes me curious how convoluted the submission text can become in other to make something mundane as for example moving right for 5 seconds or starting the game sound amazing. If this gets accepted this'll be a fun read.

You should try making a new issue. There's a button for it that also displays a template on what to place. It's better since it gets more attention to the devs.

1. How's it going? 2. How exactly did they manage to make it so complex to find out the code? :o 3. How did they manage to make the 2nd prize world unplayable even by cheating there? Just how strong is the anti-cheating mechanism?

Hey, since you people seem to have interest analyzing the game, are there any ways to skip the 70 star endless stairs without being at very high speeds? Even if it needs cheats, at least knowing whether or not its possible may eventually lead to something.

1. How do the heaven/hell portals work? Why does the game suddenly shoot you far below/above? 2. Is the submitted TAS possible in other versions of the ROM? If not, is the general route at least possible?

Hey, what happens if you pit the bot against itself on local multiplayer? Is that possible?

What's the big deal? People do it all the time. I am happy, if somebody uploads my TAS to YouTube.
Would you feel the same if others made money off it and never gave you a single cent? Also sorry for your lose ALAKTORN. :/

Excellent idea. Even better: An award for the worst Vault TAS!
Sounds like a way to encourage more "down time" and/or doing the most obnoxious things during said down time lol.

Not sure what happened with the last 3 posts, but anyways what exactly happens with Mario's position during the endless stairs skip? Why is it so easy to die doing that?

Voting yes, and agreeing with this being an Any% run, to be published alongside the current 100% run.
The current run is in vault. Is there anything else that also contributes to 100%? So it seems it was intended as an any% since it wasn't known that killing all equals fastest. Edit:
It's a boss level ;) I actually collect 11 victims here but it's not causing any problems in the bonus screen afterwards. (I'm aiming for 100%)
bleh i missed this. Point still stands for what counts as 100%

When the day comes we find a technically proficient but a very boring "early game end" glitch in a board game, there will be no place for it at TASVideos under the current rules. Which is... well, a slight shame at least.
i just wish for the day that we find something like "in SM64 every frame zoomed on mario's ass save a lag frame" so we could get a 0 & 120 star improvements that would just zoom on his ass for the whole run, that would lead to the most hilarious and most mind destroying discutions....
Well there's something similar; in Super Metroid, pausing as much as possible can make the ingame timer really low. While I'm aware it likely won't be accepted, it would somewhat hilarious to have that kind of submission. Edit: It'll also win the reward in my signature. :P

I know it may sound kinda pointless to use Expert given that with tools you can view the memory to know exactly where they are, but it's the thought that counts. :P

This was fun to watch even with the down time, but that's likely because I played the game before and know how the game normally is. :P Voted yes.

So...is there any reason it uses the novice difficulty? Is this trick exclusive to there?
