1. What happens if you use cheats to bypass it? 2. This was fun for a "endless" runner. I blame the kill screen + speed at the later parts. 3. I wonder if this would sync once the c64 core is finished lol

Hey, I'm not sure which is more accurate, but it seems for the game Keitai Denjuu Telefang 2 - Speed, the music sounds different than from VBA-M. Since I don't have the actual game, I can't say which one is supposed to be like. Here's what I mean: VBA-M: Link to video BizHawk 1.8.1 Link to video

I have a question why not retreat glitch? :(
I believe that was answered in the post above you. @jlun2: For your answer to #3, you may be thinking about Golden Sun: The Lost Age (Part 2). The second game was submitted at least once or twice and both were rejected due to optimization issues, if memory serves.
Huh. Anyways curious that an "no retreat glitch" would be submitted sooner than a shorter, glitched version. I'm not going to vote since I haven't seen it yet, but 13841 rerecords for a 3 hour TAS along with a very brief submission note doesn't give me confidence that this doesn't also contain optimization issues. But I may be wrong.

Magic is near useless. Spells often fail in combat, and rarely do any significant damage. Some aren't correctly programed, either. The most powerful and expensive spell, Illi Own, doesn't even register in your inventory when bought! Additionally, there are numerous chests scattered around the later chapters which supposedly give you a 'Book of Magic', which also doesn't appear to register. Either way, inputting physical attacks are far faster than casting spells.
Along with exit points being "invisible" makes me wonder if this game was unfinished/rushed in production.
It wasn't a quest about defeating a dragon, or answering a call to save the world; no, it was about a young adventurer remembering his sweetheart, Traysia.
As great as that sound, the TAS made it look like he simply got a couple friends to leech off of while he does nothing, resembling more of an hour long escort mission rather than an RPG. lol

1. What the heck is "Retreat Glitch"? 2. What exactly does "Retreat Glitch" do to warrent a different branch? 3. I recall another TAS that forgoes this being submitted here before, but none for "Retreat Glitch". Why is that so?

This is false.
Huh? itsPersonnal uploaded a video showing the 2 seconds delay between Dolphin and real console...
I thought he was referring to "Console loads vary by a matter of frames with metroid prime" rather than the 2 seconds part. Can anyone who know's please elaborate?

I hope we'll see a TAS of the "glitchless" RTA category.
Good call. As one of many who like to tune in to werster's and others' Red/Blue speedrun attempts, I can say it's a good and important category. I would love to see a TAS of it.
For those who are unaware, can you please elaborate what counts as "glitchless" in RTA runs?

Is the safari zone noclip glitch fixed in Yellow? Although thinking about it, there might be different exploits there that aren't in here, so not sure

I love how the 2nd game (Back to the Future 3) is only ~17 mins long, yet it's the most boring part due to lack of hoverboard, DeLorean, and more minigames requiring waiting. >.>

I vaguely remember a faster Willow TAS submitted here but then got cancelled after he got banned, but I can't seem to find it. Or I'm just going nuts.

Let me remind you. You bypassed my statement on your case jlun2 and ignored it or that you chose to ignore it. The only way this TAS can go if someone updates Pokemon JAPANESE Red/Green or that we can accept it to go to the Moon it doesn't have to go to the moon.
I'm not exactly ignoring you, just that it seems the reason noone is making a save corruption run is because there's thinking that the yellow one is alright, and this is allowed to live rather than making a red/green save corruption TAS. >.> I was suggesting yellow to obsolete this one. Edit: Or at the very least clarification on it's vault status. That's the main thing bothering me anyways. Since the vault is not to just throw TASes regardless whether or not it could be fastest.

Er...can you please change the colors to black/white? This looks rather odd. :P Thanks anyways. Edit: I was going to comment on why the use of Nidoking until I saw the thrashing. That was unexpected. Yes vote.

This....is hilarious. I'm just wondering now how would this category still hold with more and more discoveries lol. Also an encode would be nice. :) Edit: Maybe "All badges", but it would just be this run but walking through walls to other gyms then back to E4, so idk.

So...is there any verdict on this? I got reminded of this when a new pokemon TAS was submitted.

Can the kirby super star ACE run be verified? If so, maybe make some sprite movie or something for the event. Also for the FDS, what exactly is stopping it from verification?

Even if this may not get accepted for the event, can a proof of concept of sorts video still be done? It would be amazing seeing the white mage TAS on console. :)

I tried verifying this run with my old device which has proven to verify other runs and again it does not verify with the same results. I spoke with Masterjun about this and he may or may not be working on a test program to verify the behavior of the bus when doing open bus reads. My guess at this point is that the bus is terminated, so reads are returning a fixed value, and this property is causing the verification issue. It also would mean that the emulator is inaccurate, which would mean what for this run? :)
How did it go?

0 down time? You mean like this TAS? I wonder how fast a TAS would be at rapid fire input lol

How can RTA runners be so consistent at keeping it then? Anyway‚ I don't wanna restart the debate. I (and others) would like to see a TAS using the cloud‚ the best SMW TASers don't. I'll just wait I guess. This has been debated for a long time
dumb luck lol I thought speedrunners simply reset the run everytime it crashes, and only show the runs that work, unless it was done live, in which case probably found a way to manipulate value or something idk

Idk, but if you want to try, it was supposedly fixed in a revision 3 months ago.

You should record it regardless and see if someone can figure it out why.

I wonder if you can do the trainer fly glitch after doing the safari zone glitch? (like walk in front of the trainer right when the timer hits 0) It may be impractical, but I wonder if it can be done in Pokemon Brown. (holding start to enter the menu in front of a trainer is not possible in the hack)
Now I'm wondering what happens if you did that in a gym or some building. Also, forced reset? Are there any triggers other than reset?

5-Castle done! I'm still behind in frame and VI Soig, because his loading times are faster than me. Feedback is appreciated!
Nice. Would be better if there's a video of the entire run, but I'll wait for submission I guess. Also it wouldn't matter if you're behind as long as you have evidence to prove it's only due to loading times.
