I haven't watched it yet, but since the Ninjabread Man / Anubis II thread barely mentions a thing about the latter (seriously why a topic for 2 games??) this came out as a surprise. Edit: Most of the video was loading screens. No vote.

Or somehow make warping directly to the credits faster than beating ganon.

Actually, thinking back now, what addresses for this game have been found so far? I think I recall seeing one for speed, and....not sure about others.

Oscar's expression in 1:37 of the encode summarizes my thoughts on this TAS.

Hey Guys! I'm actually decided to do a Gameboy Colour TAS, Oddworld: Adventures II! Here is a WIP that I done so far! Microstorage didn't work for me so I'm uploading to my MediaFire account. https://www.mediafire.com/?ddqbe3v6dqbddq3
I haven't watched it yet, but you could also post the WIP here: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/

(posting in English because i'm tired and don't feel like thinking right now) We can't merge natt's a/v sync hack because there are a few problems with it, and it's not very clean code. Someone is planning to rewrite the video dumping feature from scratch, but it's going to take a while. In the mean time, we unfortunately, just have to keep doing what we have been.
I know this is kinda late, but is there an issue report on this so I can follow the progress?

imho, theres no solution to this which will please everyone. Until what I think is the long term solution (allow user to independently control options which affect when frames are displayed, what frame-advance hotkey does, and when input is consumed from input log) is in place, chasing a theoretical dragon will only bring grief.
Sorry for double posting, but how about making a poll to see which option is preferred?

If it matters, it desyncs on the stuart little TAS published a while back. While trying to sync it up, I noticed that rather than a fixed pattern of <input><lag><lag>, it seems somewhat random, but oddly gets to the next screen/transition at the same amount of time.

No. This game sucks. Also due to forgoing game end glitch, this is unvaultable.

Can you use this glitch to clip out of bounds? What other potential applications are there?

I'm curious on how many times has SMB been submitted by a newbie as a first TAS to this site now. Edit: I know I can check http://tasvideos.org/RejectedSubmissions.html, but some of them were cancelled rather than rejected.

I believe giving a 0/10 would be far too harsh, so I'm giving it a 10/∞.

1. Absolute jump instructions cannot be encoded in a Pokemon's nickname, so jumping anywhere far won't be possible unless a different method of executing arbitrary code is found. 2. GBA's input register has only 10 bits of controllable data, while a single valid ARM instruction should be 32 bits.

Since it's more relevant here: Post #382164
There was a whole section of text with me ranting about the new frame timing, which I cut out for being inapropriate in the last second. Seriously though, I hope there is a chance to overthink the current solution. I think forcing all frames to be of equal length is just not the way to go, it's not how the GB works. It'd be better to just accept that frames have different lengths and solve the timing accuracy problem my measuring the CPU cycles, which have a constant frequency, whereas video or input frames don't. And while you can argue that not all games fetch their inputs a VBlank, some (if not most) of them do, whereas the new timing fits none of the GB games. The discussion about this should probably not be held here, though..
Has this been addressed yet?

1. Regarding CPU cycles, isn't that what Dolphin now does? How difficult would it be to implement something like that in BizHawk as well?
Uh....now that this is published, has this been addressed yet? :o Edit: Also why is this a new branch as of posting?

Get fucked Rubas. Giving this a yes vote. Undecided whether the US version run should be a separate category.
I disagree with being a separate category, since the run this is trying to obsolete is not only a vault run, but also given the ratings, a pretty uninteresting run as well. Edit: Oh, and in case if someone posts about the previous run being a "100%" run of sorts, all I want to know is would the (J) version be faster?

Have you tried and see if this game works in BizHawk? It's a lot better than Mupen, and it's also getting updates if it doesn't work.
