This is almost as hilarious as kirby going up a ladder and saving the world. Almost.

I really hope this happens. :D
4-1 was unexpected. Nice to know new strategies are found even to this day. :o
About 5-2, how does bullets spawn for this game? Does it run on some timer?
Well, I managed to get OoB at the warehouse at the last chapter, but it happens seemingly by pure luck. Also sometimes I swear I move through a building as if it weren't there, but again, I have a hard time replicating them. :o
Nice! For this game, there's a whole bunch of oddities like the occasional clipping glitch, to NPC's suddenly glitching out. I would love to see that abused. :D
Hey, for a tip, I remembered grinding the Anteroom in real time play since one of the vases seems to drop gold bars every now and then without a limit. If my memory is correct, I used this to get gold bar from one of the vases and then use toad to save and reset before trying again.
In other words it should be checked which places can be manipulated to give coins/goldbars.
Please report the submission threads where people were saying "this is so different and good that it needs a new branch" but the judge rejected or obsoleted
We don't rely on absolutes anymore, only on statistics. What's so wrong with that?

What makes Moons movies obsolete? Having better content. If something is faster it doesn't mean it's better.
I just realized that means technically, this TAS should've been a separate branch simply because it was less entertaining than the movie it was meant to obsolete.
In other words, if that was the case, how the heck would anyone improve that movie then? Purposefully make worse camera angles? This would just make 2 branches of pretty much similar movies except with difference in entertainment value.
Also, you're argueing pretty much anything mentioned here and also in the moon tier should be a different branch. That's just...nuts.
Are you saying we should keep an obsolete branch simply because a community for this game decided to?
That's.....quite pointless to keep the current branch.
What makes Moons movies obsolete? Having better content. If something is faster it doesn't mean it's better. If you personally can't enjoy anything Super Metroid other than "GT code/game end", it doesn't mean all the rest branches of it are obsolete. We don't rely on absolutes anymore, only on statistics. What's so wrong with that?
I wonder if that means the 16 star TAS can be published now. :o
(Or pretty much any arbitrary goal as long as it's entertaining.)
Edit: Also why do I get the feeling for moons at least that every single time a large improvement is found it would probably have people arguing for a new branch? >.>

The video you showed seems to increase the score at a faster rate than yours. If that was replicated as soon as possible, would it be faster than a TAS that doesn't do it?
Edit: So branch...
I say the branch would stay blank (any%).
The other one cannot be obsoleted... it's known to speedrunners as "14 Tailsman".
Why? Are you saying we should keep an obsolete branch simply because a community for this game decided to? I haven't watched it yet, but how is this different from the current run? Memory corruption? Clipping through walls?
Edit: What does 14 talismans even mean? I googled it, and it says "Unlocks the doors leading to the Bosses". So isn't that just like SM64 like Patashu wrote?
Edit2:
From gamefaqs
The last item you will collect is called a Talisman. You collect Talismans by
completing levels. There are 14 Talisman in the game, but there is NOT one
for every level.
That's.....quite pointless to keep the current branch. Might as well go all out and do 100%.
Here is something sad I noticed... You can't use the Stylus and Dpad at the same time... Thats very sad.
At least I'm finding a new way to move the cursor faster using only the stylus.
EDIT: I'm now using 0.9.9 because there was a save data error in 0.9.10 and the previous version doesn't have that error for some reason.
Huh. Can you mix them? As in Dpad,Stylus,Dpad, etc?
Also, about that save error, how did you manage to TAS it at first? :o
How about try redownloading the emulator and place it on a new folder and see?
Branches showcase approaches. Approaches can be abstracted out of huge amount of examples. Using "warp glitch" is an approach, and as long as it differs from the regular completion, it needs a label. If it's fastest possible (any%) or full completion (100%) it can be vaulted. All other branches only exist in Moons. Labels have little relation to tiers. What is a regular completion is explained in the guidelines.
I know, but since an any% of a "glitchless"/warpless TAS for certain bad games would most likely be rejected (due to being unvaultable and also boring), does it really need that branch? Because it led me to thinking there's a warpless TAS of it at first glance and could potentially mislead other viewers as well.
Y U overcomplicate? It's because I'm unaware of some runs that skip to end or warp to near the end. If you know more, tell.
Huh. I wonder if a run of that game would ever have a "warpless" TAS, given how crap it is and also being an unvaultable goal.
Which also makes me wonder if they even need that tag.
In other words, if a game is basically crap and extending it longer would just make it crap, would a TAS that uses a warp glitch need the tag since chances are, unless a judge made a mistake, the glitchless TAS would never be accepted since it's an unvaultable goal along with being unentertaining?

Uh..."game end glitch"? All this run does is clip to the end. >.>
Edit: [2084] GB The Addams Family "warp glitch" by NitroGenesis in 01:35.78
and yet that isn't labelled as such. Why? Is it because it's vaulted? Or is it because it warps to the last boss rather than the credits?
