Crazy new trick:

So far, these light towers are the only known places we can activate this...
Goo Lagoon backwards saves around a minute non-TAS. I don't think it'd be useful in a TAS though.
I got a question. How would the route change in a TAS if Goo Lagoon was done after you get bubble bowl?
Also, in downtown Bikini Bottom, can you go OoB at the lighthouse to skip most of that section as soon as you get the sock?
What I fear is, worst case scenario redoing from start or 2000 frames or so which I have done once before, is something I am not considering. I am really determined to finish this huge project. Also, it's my birthday, cut me some slack :(
Maybe other TASers should submit TASes on their birthdays for leniency then...
(it's always six of one item, for those uninitiated), meteor-sniping, achievement counter overflow (I'm rather surprised at that one-it's the "stars x 1" after the match, except obviously then it shows a lot more being cleared).
Wait, I thought the stars meant how many rounds you've won since poweron. :o
What overflow are you refering to?
I'm genuinely unsure on whether to redo from halfway through the TAS or not. It looks sloppy, and it is sloppy, so I don't really want it in the run, but it might be a lot of effort to get everything lining up like it should. I guess one option is to see whether we can get the gold duplication section to sync again via moving random seeds around (without changing our movement pattern); if we can keep the same movement pattern, everything should start syncing again after a while.
Well, if there's consensus to restart to that point, is there anything that could be done faster/different along with the leashes?
One thing that's not the same if you guys watch the twitch streams is that with everyone doing Hidden Mansion, it is way easier to suck up ghosts and move at the same time. Regular mode it is very hard to try to move around with ghosts because if you hold down directional keys, there is a chance you stop taking their hp away for a frame or more.
But that'll require new game+ and a verification file, so might as well make an any% from a blank memory card and use the savefile from the any% TAS for 100% Hidden mansion.
Watch as MKDasher crushes this game using Clefable (the first evolved form of Clefairy) and lots of luck manipulation. This run improves the previous version by over 2 minutes by fighting most battles with Clefable instead of Squirtle and using Metronome (which picks a random move to use from all moves in the game) against the Elite Four.
Definitely, the hardest part was luck manipulating Metronome. There are 339 different moves that Metronome can execute. Since the only way to manipulate it is waiting for the right RNG value to appear, sometimes waiting a lot of time is needed.
what category would mine be put into you think? Since everyone who runs it is doing newgame+ (hidden mansion) glitched%.
I may do both anyways haha.. once I get a 100% complete file to access hidden mansion
um....any%? Also, if hidden mansion is going to be TASes, please make it a 100% run so that the differences between the 2 modes would be noticeable.
Any reason why people were so divided on whether to get Eevee?
Also, good job, eevee fans, you got your animated ball of fluff but ended up losing 2 pokemon. Was it worth it though?
LightBlueYoshi has produced a TAS test run of Red Rescue Team a while back. It probably wouldn't hurt to know about it.
Ended at level 16, I believe. This is a very low level, and it can be seen that Rayquaza is taking one damage before all the Defense reduction takes place. You'll need ways to bypass the defensive stats or your damage output is frighteningly low, STAB or not.
I remembered that the DS version had way less lag, so maybe that should be used?
The dead last player clearly had one goal in mind - to be the very last player on the list - with only 10 points. It appears others have tried to get the lowest score on the board, but many failed with 20 points. So far, only two people know the secret to getting a game over with only 10 points (something I can't figure out myself).
Wait, if they don't leak it out, how does anyone prove that they didn't cheated?
So? The reason of sudden silence is that it's so secret, so unexplainable, or so obvious? It's also strange how users are expected to understand the "clear" system if a judge and a publisher can't...
Well, I'm not even sure how to respond, since I've already mentioned that I don't understand (nor agree) with the use of "glitched", yet you (and probably some other people) seem to like doing this:
Then some runs may be "savestate glitch", "box glitch", "whatever glitch".
And then, any% would be whatever run avoids these glitches, having no branch and staying clear. Any% as in "no game-breaking glitches". Which glitches? The ones used "here" and "here".
Why I'm so stuck to having any% separate from glitched? I don't think it's ideal decision. But from all alternatives I see, it's the least evil. Because otherwise you would need to list the unused game-breaking glitches in all the slower branches.
I know this is kinda late, but how is it possible that a certain game I'm TASing that parodies the NDS has more "NES-esque" graphics than a game about the NES years? >.>
Independently from the TAS, has it been investigated what happens if you do the king boo crown glitch and then complete the other sections? Do the credits play?
Once you beat king boo(glitched after Chauncey), you go into Luigi and professor washing Mario painting, tally up points, and credits.
I didn't even say "memory corruption" once. It doesn't matter HOW it's done. But to be a separate branch it must be different enough from the "no game-breaking glitches" run, otherwise they would just obsolete one another. And then we determine HOW it is different and branch it.
Wait, then does that mean this Spongebob movie technically counts as "glitched" simply because the last boss was skipped via OoB thus confusing the game to count as completed?
Actually, now that I think about it, that can be totally used as some branch for a similar legit submission on April Fools.
