And any topic with that video deserves this link: http://visiblechildren.tumblr.com/ Like always you should try to do some research into a charity before you give too much to it.

Yes, 'report this post' type systems generally are worth their effort, at least in forums where you get enough traffic that it's nontrivial for mods to watch. In my experience you don't get much abuse, and when you do it's by problem users anyway.

For me (running Vista) it puts focus on the 'Show hidden icons' button on my taskbar. What that has to do with the letter B I do not know.

My brother and I compiled a list of all our handheld and console games (except Atari, we were feeling lazy about that), we have 180. Who knows how many PC games we still have, much less whether they can still run.

Please don't shame people on their votes. Everyone is allowed their opinion, no matter how unpopular it may be.

The youtube encode has an a/v desync. It's most apparent during the boss refights.

Have you tried this movie? It synced perfectly for me.

Having watched this movie twice (once on youtube for the commentary), I think I can definitely vote yes on this. Very well done Touch-me. :)

I'm a bit conflicted. This run is certainly well done from a technical standpoint, and I did find it entertaining. But the quest for speed has sacrificed the soul and weapon variety that helped make the original so interesting. If this were the first run of this category, I probably would vote yes, but as it is, I'm abstaining.

Currently re-reading The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub. It has a sequel Black House that retcons the story into the Dark Tower universe. I think Stephen King would do just fine writing his stories without trying to connect the majority of his stories, but that said the stories aren't bad in my opinion. boct1584: Maybe it's just me, but I kinda liked the ending. No matter what Roland accomplished, he still had some big sins to atone for, and it does end with a note of hope in the form of the horn. Also, just curious, did you read the revised version of The Gunslinger or an edition of the original release? I've not read the revised version, so I don't know what if any effect it may have on reading the rest of the series. EDIT: I saw a mention of Jennifer Government earlier. I love Max Berry, he is so funny. If you like the writing than I recommend picking up his other books Syrup and Company. He's also working on adapting a web serial Machine Man into a novel, which from what I read (I can't afford the serial right now so I'm stuck with only the free part) promises to be interesting.

IHMO, it's not cheat if the ROM only competes in its own category.
You're failing to understand the objection. When the video leaks out onto the internet as a TAS of Zelda that completes the game without ever using a sword, people are first going to think "Wow, you can kill Ganon in the original Zelda without using your sword? I wonder how that works." And then when they find out that the ROM was hacked to make it possible will be disappointed and angry that they were lied to. That is how it would be a cheat. Not so much in the context of this site as in the context of the internet at large.
But if the run is clearly labeled as using a hacked rom (both in video titles and the video's watermarks) then the people who don't read that information are the only ones to blame.

I tried that on Kongregate and can't get into it. Time isn't consistently displayed (seriously, how can you mix "0:X" and "0:0X" on the same screen?), and some of the puzzles would be easier to solve knowing at least the maximum amount of dots you have to work with. I know the point is that you don't know, but not all real life cases would have you cover all possible cases up to a range of infinity data points.

Unless you assume a perfectly willing responder, no English quine is foolproof. Some of the responses that I saw through my quick skims show more fault on the part of the responder and his unwillingness to comply than on the command itself.

I don't know if you already know this, but you can slowly move the camera around just by moving the cursor towards the edge of the screen. I don't think it pauses the city like the quick pan does...

Actually, my bookmarks are all sorted alphabetically. :P EDIT: Though I can see where you mistook separation for sorting within the lists. <_< Sorted by update frequency VG Cats and Dresden Codak would both be about equal I think.

I generally buy sequels to games that I've had fun with and promise to be interesting new, if I have the money. Anything I'm iffy about I wait to buy, and see if I can't get it used. That way I already get a discount, and I don't lose so much on a trade-in if I end up not liking it or getting much replay value out of it.

Call them back to back tetrises, like Tetris Worlds does. You don't have to clear multiple tetrises with successive pieces, rather you don't clear any lines by a method other than tetrises. Doesn't make it hard though.

Nope, Samus is damaged by a Rinka in the opening-credits. GG.
ACTUALLY, that's a script action, not an enemy collision. Samus is not damaged in the cutscene. ... it's just dawned on me that I know way too much about this game.
It took THAT to make you realize? oO

As far as I know it's a feature of phpBB2 that clicking on the go to new replies button will take you to the first reply since your last recorded session, regardless of read status. The problem with that is, as long as you don't close your browser, it doesn't start a new session (there may be some time limit to the session too, but I don't recall seeing it). A workaround for that is to restart the browser, which forces a new session.
