They should make runs with Legacy Co-op with some nasty Megawads like Herian, bowels of hell, AV, Requiem... or even Doom TNT! They would be more intresting to watch than same old Doom stages all over again...

Urgh... now this is getting quite annoying.. Fillmore, Bloodpool and Kasandora are quite easily time attacked. With only getting hit when it saves time (mostly just slashing at bosses). The problems come up with Aitos Act 2 ... It is just abnormal to time attack properly. I had to stop to slash at the enemies because they: 1) Drop me into lava, instant kill 2) Running through doesn't do any good, too much of em and the lavaballs take 3 slashes to kill too. and those pesky red flier imps 2 slashes. The run is possible but S.L.O.W. Anyone else tried to time attack this? some ideas? Another problem I came up with is the boss at Marahna Act 1.. it just takes too much time to beat. only jumpslahes hit the damn thing and one at a time (the pesky vine hits you otherwise). I only got this far because I got so frustrated at some of the acts. And yes, there is magic in Action Mode. you can collect magic scrolls in the acts.

I've tried fiddling with the action-mode. (in expert difficulty) Reached end of Atc2-1 (the manticore) just under 5 mins. (4:57 to be exact) I dunno if this is any good or no. Anyone else tried this game out? And if you have do you use any nice tactics on the bosses? I take damage to speed things up. Doesn't look pretty but.. still. Perhaps getting magic from the stages and use it on bosses? (perhaps takes longer to get magic from stages than killing the bosses with just the sword..)

Hmm, the ship itself is couple speedups slower than in gradius-series. And the ship itself is quite bigger than in gradius. If I would have gone into the haystack of bullets one of em would have hit me for sure. I just took the way I found the most fitting for each enemy wave or such. Oh, and I played this with only a slight slowdown. I know you can do a much better stuff with frame by frame but I don't have enough skill/will to do that. My first attempt to do a aesthetic form so... Perhaps someday I'll go for another try but now I have a new game I'd like to try to make Time Attack on.

I have watched most of the movies on Bisqwit's site and some of the not yet released submissions, too. Now I want to make my own speed run, and I was thinking of one particular game that anyone hasn't mentioned, U.N. Squadron/Area88. I've played that game rather much, and I will probably make a run for it. The only thing is, should I try to play through it with only the first craft, or should I save up enough money to buy the best craft? I think the game is rather impossible with only the first craft, as you need upwards firing weapons on atleast two occasions. Any suggestions are welcome.
Uh, the 8th boss (the mountain base one) REQUIRES to have at least the Gunpod. So you gotta buy the one that costs 500k. Btw, I have made a run of 36minutes. -I bought the 1mil one. (I had to take about 10 Quatermaster's Corps missions before I took on mission 8) -I take only 3 hits (way too much stuff flying around, and once to save time) -I try not to shoot any the normal enemies -Hard difficulty (there's a Gamer difficulty also but I never got the code to work on an emulator) Nice game but the main reason the run's never gonna be completed is the slowdown what comes after there's 8 or more enemies on screen. it looks horrible.

I just made a Aesthetic Form outta this. Only few enemies destroyed (getting the speedups and clearing the way in last stage + 2 annoying bees). Few miss shots but they doesn't really ruin the whole thing. I think bosses are beaten fast as possible. I die at the end of the movie but it's okay :). I ended the movie as I beat the boss. (no initials in the high-score :T) No hits Only Speed powerups Hardest Difficulty Usual Playaround Movie http://tasvideos.org/queue.cgi?id=235

I've actually tried to run this but... damn confusing game. You really gotta know where to fly next and change to different gargoyle forms quickly and in specific places and such. And bosses take a while to beat.. But I dunno if you could fly straight to the last place and beat the boss there with the Fire Gargoyle..

Yeah, I could do that.. but I don't know even how you can put on that harder difficulty... I only could improve my Normal runs like before. I know it's ok to enter codes that makes the game harder, but perhaps they can shave off couple of minutes from their run. Personally, I think Normal is enough to get a compact and _short_ run. That 2 min Elizabeth fight is just plain silly in a time attack. X)

I'm pretty eager to try a Splatterhouse 3 run. I have stages 1-4 in the bag, but I cannot find the shortest route of stage 5. I always get lost in there, messing up the whole thing.. If you know the shortest route of stage 5, I'd appriciate. My first try resulted a 40min run ^.^ that's way too long tho. I think I wandered 12 mins in stage 5.. <edit> oh, and I play with Game Master difficulty so there's LOTS of enemies and they come in more harder forms so It's gonna be like 30min run anyways. (or more...) and I try not to take hits .. but in two rooms I have to take damage (poltergeist and ghostly faces) because it's just damn impossible to dodge all of em.

Wow, nice run, Dan. I saw some new tricks from your run and tested them in my Normal run.. Finished it in 29:42... But the damn thing got desynched in stage 4 >.< Nowadays every run I make gets desynched, it's just weird. <edit> Okay, I finished my v2. 29:45. 2 mins faster than previous :P (not too long bartley-fight or anything silly like that.) Mostly just killed bosses much faster and used some nice tricks Dan used in his run. (thanks for the tips :P) 3 buttons for both players and it should playback fine. http://tasvideos.org/queue.cgi?mode=view&id=82

It has blood and other uncencored stuff. What's the point playing without em? :T I just made a 30min18sec run but it went out of synch.. gotta try it again later.

Okay... I've improved my run with one minute (bosses...). But I noticed several places that could be better... so someone who has the authority to _kill_ my Akumajou Dracula speedrun from the Bisqwit's site.. well, do so. :P I have this improved versio up in a few days.

I just made one. japanese version tho (BLOOD). Check that out. My first speedrun and I could improve it on bosses quite a bit... but It looks okay. http://tasvideos.org/submissions/44.zip <edit> And it's 3 buttons for player 1&2. Played with Eric on Normal. (easy would be faster ... no Elisabeth-fight and all...). Surprisingly long game. Lots of automaticly scrolling stages.
