I looked into it after doing Turok 1, and found that a major problem would be time. It's a long enough game as it is, and unlike the first in the series, so many of the additional level objectives have to be completed before moving on (instead of just picking up keys here or there). I could imagine it being (as a total out of my ass guess) at least 1.5, may be upwards of 2 hours, which is a lot of strafe running. The other issue I remember is that it is incredibly desync prone due to the expansion pack, and AFAIK Mupen hasn't been upgraded in forever. If that's been fixed, it would be possible, just a bit project.

That said, would people be interested in an Ungrue 2012? I'd be willing to allow for the reconsideration of runs that people feel had questionable rejections.
I originally thought that the idea would come up often enough to warrant such an event annually. I'm glad to see that it's taken almost 3 years for it to be suggested again.

The only thing my local occupy has done is trash our down-town, and turn it into a hippy commune. Actually, commune conveys way too much organization. Shanty-town rife with drug usage and terrible sanitation is a much better description.

VMWare Fusion works fine to TAS via virtualization, it's what I currently use for my emulation needs. IIRC, SNES9X (one form of it) had a OS X build, but when I played around with it two years ago, I wasn't able to get a sync stable movie. It may be better now. Also, if you know how to compile and have the right frameworks installed, I think you can compile FCEUX to run (not sure on that though)

Sleeping in underwear isn't healthy
What. Source?
Dark, warm, moist places harbor bacteria, and your groin tends to be all three of those. However, it also depends on whether you're prone to urinary tract infections and the like, as well as what type of underwear you're wearing (boxers vs. briefs vs. man-thong). In general though, if you shower regularly and are in overall good health, sleeping in underwear is no more unhealthy than not. (Also note that women can be more prone to infections with confining clothing, for obvious reasons).

What do you guys think about linking to this submission from the published movie's description, explaining the difference?
Methinks it's unnecessary complication. -_-
This same type of situation (ending input earlier with a longer video) is likely possible for >50% of the movies published on the site.

Dang kids these days. The current ready availability of encodes is fantastic. It wasn't that long ago that encodes weren't available at all until the movie was published. tl;dr encodes are a privilege, not a right
This, exactly. Back in the old days, people actually watched a run through an emulator, and they liked it that way. Granted, with larger sized games (psx particularly), watching a run through an emulator is a bit more laborious, but the amount of "large" (CD based) runs in the queue is still very small compared to "small" (cartridge) runs. Encodes are great, but they're not a god-given right. [/old man rant]

There's nothing stopping you from submitting your run and making a case for it in the submission text. Detail out what's different between the versions and why you think it should be published alongside (or replace) the current version, and go from there. See what the rest of the community thinks when they can see for themselves.

Ditto. I remember seeing a youtube clip of Chronos Twin a year ago and thinking it would make a pretty entertaining movie. And Rockin' Kats is complex, and can be improved by probably 25% of the current movie from what I've read, as well as being a pretty entertaining game when it's done fast (the channel X run is fun to watch, after all).

I don't think it's fair to make fun of the game's name. They didn't even make up the word, after all; it's been in the English language for over 400 years.
This is probably one of the most funny statements I've seen in forever. Whether it's tongue in cheek or fully serious, it's hilarious :)

Really? What about e.g. Super Castlevania IV? Or the music improvements in Castlevania 3, which could be likened to better graphics?
I don't consider some slight graphical changes to be enough to change from a US to a J ROM, especially when the gameplay is slower. Something like comparing FFIV SNES to FFIV DS would be an entirely different situation, however. But from the first post, I assumed the graphical changes weren't massive.

Better graphics isn't a good reason for a different version to be published, and if the game is 'really slower' than the US version, I'd say that would be an argument against even submitting. However, the level design and enemy changes... if you can elaborate on those, that would be your best chance at getting some positive feedback.
