Funny, it's worked perfectly for me, and I haven't had to configure any damn plugins either.

He actually manages to jump on onto one red sphere, then jump onto another before ending the stage. For the first 2 minutes it almost looks like someone is actually playing.

Very very nice improvement, and it was immediately obvious where all the glitched improvements came in compared to the previous submission. I especially liked the end of level actions much more, since many of them almost seemed to tell a story. A+ for the first 15:45, A- for the final boss fight (a little more variety with the movements would have been nice). Definite yes, and thanks for improving it so fast!

We currently have 200+ NES movies, ~100 SNES movies, ~70 Genesis movies, and about 70 movies for the remaining 4 consoles. Except for GBA, which still has some games being produced for it (not to mention a HUGE untapped library of TASable games), how many movies of new, unique games do you think are out there for each console? Since the NES is the oldest console format supported here, it would probably be easiest to estimate how many publish-worthy games are left undone, but I'm not quite sure how the best way to arrive at this estimate would be. I would assume that since they are newer platforms, the SNES and Genesis would have some percentage more, with SMS, GB/GBA and N64 having the greatest amount. Given that there are some truly crap-tastic games available for each system, what would a reasonable estimate be for new material for each console? (assuming the quality of runs published does not decrease in the future).

In general terms, luck manipulation means trying a segment over and over again until you get the outcome you want. There are various ways to make that easier, such as using memory watch (if you know the correct address), but a lot of the time it's just trial and error. For my Wild Guns movie, I was able to manipulate over 20 grenade drops by experimenting with several things, such as when I shot the enemy, who shot him, etc. Say that on my first try I shot an enemy and he dropped a machine gun upgrade. I would use a savestate to go back, and try to shoot him at a different frame (Wild Guns seems to like to change weapon drop types about every 20 frames on some enemies). If that didn't work, I'd try to shoot another enemy first, and then take out the dropping enemy. Or try to shoot him with the other character. As you can see, it's a lot of trial and error, unless you have the memory address (which, if you do have, was likely found through trial and error). Hope this helped.

You're not kidding, that's a bad game. Unfortunately it's so bad that I don't think there's much to see with it, other than that hot 80s girl with a mullet between levels. It was short, and watchable, so I'll give it a meh. Also, the input should probably be extended until the Congratulations screen appears, since it ends and then I had to hit start for the game to end.

Somewhat anti-climactic, but since I've never had the patience to sit through the published movie, this one held my attention pretty well. I liked the antics throughout, and it's pretty entertaining. Good job guys, yes vote.

I have to say, when I saw the first level I was less than impressed with the game, but it turns into a very nice and entertaining platformer pretty quickly. I can also tell that you've put those 24000 rerecords to good use, because it looks very optimized. Good job and keep up the good work!

It was really funny to see you kill yourself 5 times within 15 seconds:) I think it might have been a better choice to make this a no damage run, since you only took damage in the last level, but that's not a big deal, just a stylistic choice. Usually I'm not too entertained by NES movies, but this one was very enjoyable! Good work Xipo! Also: Thanks to Manipulates luck = lol

Seems that it was an online service, but was only available for the Saturn and Dreamcast. So maybe these were crappy games that didn't deserve their own category in the GoodRom set, and just got lumped into the Genesis section?

I thought I noticed some places where further optimization would be possible, but since I'm no expert I'll throw in a yes for a good improvement. However if the others in this thread are correct, I'd expect this to be canceled in favor of a greater improvement.

I'm agree with you Xipo, it looks like lag would be a big problem with this game, and I don't think there's much you can do with it. It was interesting, but the slowdowns were major and often, and it did take away from the enjoyability.

I'm with Raiscan. This is turning into Super Metroid, with only 1 person.

There's a difference between "I found a glitch, I'm going to rape the entire game with it" and "Hmm that's a nice glitch, it could maybe be used in x,y, and z locations to save a few seonds". This is one of the latter types.

Fabian; I know you are a rather successful poker player, but how successful? Do you make your entire living off playing, or do you have a normal job and use it for extra income? How old were you when you started playing, and how old when you started winning consistently? Biggest one day win and loss? And if you have one piece of advice for an off and on aspiring player such as myself, what would it be?

I mentioned on IRC that if it's possible to maintain Wolverine's horizontal velocity better, this could turn into a real screamer of a run. *sigh* If only I had infinite time to work on TASes, I'd love to take it up.

I'm also undecided on this. Yes it's an improvement, and it does have a lot of fancy acrobatics, however I agree that a lot of the same things were done over and over again. If this had been a 10 minute movie it would have been an easy yes, but after 30 minutes the repetitiveness begins to wear on the viewer. Also, it may have just been the rapid moving left and right playing tricks on my eyes, but there seemed to be a loooot of lag in some spots. If this is the case, I think those places would be an ideal time to switch from passive mode (don't kill anything) to berserk mode (kill anything that moves). Even if that doesn't reduce the lag, it might add some diversity to the gameplay. Maybe even switching from passive to berserk every 30 seconds to a minute throughout the whole movie (excluding bosses). Just a few ideas. In any case, I give it a strong meh, leaning towards yes. The yes lean comes from the improvement and the acrobatics, the meh part comes from the lack of diversity from those acrobatics.

I prefer to end my movies at the earliest possible point that still allows for the game to be considered completed. If the hi-score screen wouldn't go away without some sort of input (like my Silent Scope GBA movie), I would have extended the input to reach there, but since it does count down and then go back to the start screen, I'm fine with it the way it is. I certainly understand your point though.

Congratulations, you won the game! But what happened to the poor Edsel? Whatever, yes for a massive improvement. On another note, this is the only ROM I've seen that has an (I) version.

No fault of yours, but the stopping to jump started to piss me off after a while. Or it could be that I'm suffering through a 3 hour class at 7pm. In any case, it's not the best game, but the run of it looked pretty near perfect. Would be curious to see how much faster it would be with taking damage though. Yes for a good improvement.
