To those complaining about the newly submitted run: frame wars are never meant to be pretty. Plus, how come the NES submissions never recieved this kind of treatment?
Had to read it a couple times myself, hope this helps.

Hmmm... adding a feature like this thread originally intended is looking better and better. Bisqwit could ignore JXQ and live a happier life, JXQ and I could ignore Phil and avoid arguments that start due to language barriers and mis-communications, and all the BS might actually be cut down. See why other boards think of this as a good idea? The best arguments are the ones that get avoided completely. Edit: After reading the past few responses more closely, I feel I should add I have also noticed a difference in attitude, both from Bisqwit and in general, since Xebra decided to start posting again. I don't feel it's anyone's fault, sometimes shit just happens, however it has been nearly palpatory. I think in general most of the population here tries to be respectful (indeed, it was only when Xebra started being a prick to Bisqwit did I say anything about it, otherwise I liked him), but sometimes many people could just take a step back. I don't dislike anyone on these boards because I feel that most of the time they show me the respect I try to show them. The only exception I have would be Phil, because I have seen increasing amounts of disrespect to many people from him since my start here. And no, this is not an attempt to start an argument, it's simply how I feel. But in most cases, respect, or lack thereof, is the issue at heart, which can only be addressed by each individual member.

I know this option is available on some other bulletin boards, and I was wondering if it was possible (or ever would be possible) here. To clarify: Say funguy10 returned, and for some reason he didn't get banned again. Since he contributed nothing to discussion, would it be possible to "ignore" (ie not see) any of his posts, while keeping the rest of the topic intact?

Holy crap, I've never seen so many people complain about game choice. We've seen movies improved by a lot, LOT less than this, over and over again, without this much bitching, so here's a good idea: if you don't want to watch it, then don't. Go watch something else. But don't bash someone for trying their hardest to make a run as perfect as they can.

http://tasvideos.org/775M.html Like it or not, once a precedent has been set, it's very hard to accept exceptions to it.

Even if that was only a second faster, to me it seemed very much cleaner, crisper, and exact than the previous version. And I for one actually appreciated the camera angles, seeing Mario's point of view (when interesting), is a nice change of pace from just seeing him from far away. A whole run like that would be overkill, but I truly enjoyed Bowser in the fire sea. Oh, and I actually noticed the lag reduction in DDD when boarding the sub. Good job, and a yes (it's a shame it had to come right after the last one got published, please tell me you didn't sit on it for a week just to wait for that one to hit the front page).

So, I was just browsing the main page and realized that almost every single movie has 0 downloads listed in the small grey bar under each description, and the ones that do have downloads listed certainly look like they've been reset in the near past. Was this intentional? A bug? And can the correct download statistics be restored in any way?

Yeah, those are the ones I was thinking, I also kinda like the second one too, although the first one shows Mario in a great midair BLJ. But 2 gets my vote. Thanks for sorting those out AQwertyZ, and like I said, if you don't think they're better DeHackEd, don't worry about it.

I think these could be slightly better screenshots (and I know that you were very limited w/ material DeHackEd, I really wasn't trying to be super critical). First number is frame number, number in parenthesis is input frame. 5510 (2627) 13708 (6578) If neither of these look good, no biggie, just thought I'd ask.

Don't mean to nit-pick, but is that really the best screenshot in the movie? Sure, you can't see half of Mario, but still...

Everything isn't always about you, Phil. I'll watch this when I get home.

Pickling is a process, not a product, so you can have all kinds of pickles.
True, but pickles are pickled cucumbers. A pickle is it's own noun, not just the process of using brine to leech the water out of a product.

Last I checked, cucumbers were the precursor to pickles, unless there are some weird zuccini pickles there in Finland. And if so, could they be described as zuccickles?

Even though I didn't like this movie as much because it's long, thank you thank you THANK YOU for choosing to have the triple obsoletion.

I agree, after watching this. It is certainly not the most entertaining game, but by far the least entertaining. It was slightly repetitive but it was played very well and had some pretty funny moments (I really liked the riding the snowballs into the holes in the floor, just to jump in time for the level to end) It's a shame you couldn't find a single frame more, 9999 is just begging to have one. One question, in floor 28, it feels slower than the other levels, and you never touch the sumo guy (whoever he is). Is there something special about that level, or am I imagining things?

Not familiar with the game much, but the faster movie uses a warp of some kind, which has prompted discussion as to whether a warped and non-warped run would be accepted.

Having played this game a little bit (but playing THPS 1,2 and 4 until my thumbs bleed), I can't say I wasn't entertained, but I thought that it was too short and hyper. Short levels are great, but those "loading" scenes where there's 5-10 seconds of dead space make this a pretty disjointed run. I think if you added more goals (possibly all gaps), and it would be a much more fulfilling run to watch, and help make the waiting times not as noticable, at least for fans of the series. I give it a meh.

I used to have this exact same problem, except with emulators and poker software. All the freaking time too... then suddenly it stopped, for no apparent reason (although I've been damn careful to not move around many files, since that seemed to cause the majority of problems). One of the many joys of owning a windoze box *bangs head repeatedly into wall*
