Err, rephrase? How is a B higher than a B+? I always thought the normal grade breakdowns were 90-100 A, 80-90 B, 70-80 C, 60-70 D, 0-60 E/F. Then again, a lot of that depends on post-score class curvature and general teacher ambivalence (which happens a lot in college).
Oops, 90-93=A-, a B was a 83-87. Sorry for the confusion.

I once got a 35 on a physics test in college and it rated a D. That's how low the curve was. Says something about the professor, doesn't it?
I once got a 45% on an anatomy lab midterm which translated into a B-... but what're you gonna do when you're taught by TAs who don't know anything? EDIT: However all of my highschool classes had normal grading scales (ie 93-100=A, 90-93=B, 87-90=B+ etc... so it was great when I went to college to find that I didn't have to be super smart, I just had to be smarter than the other people who set the curve so low;)

Thanks for those Hellfish, they're fixed now. I'll have an updated file sometime soon here, with all the new movies from the past month or so. I've been slacking off too much lately.

Although I don't rate movies much, the currently published version currently ranks as my lowest. I'm glad that you're trying to improve it, but I dunno if the entertainment value will increase much. I'm sure you'll make the best out of what the game gives you, though. I'll try to watch the WIP a little later.

We've kind of planned to get the non-100-coin-star nearest to the last coin we pick up. Sometimes that might be the red coin star, other times it may not. Would that be too confusing?
It can be the 100-coin star if it's the nearest one. Just grab it and exit the course -- your new high score is recorded.
That sure would add an increased element of insane planning, if you were to get the 100 coin star to appear somewhere that could easily by LJed to after the last coin is collected. It would basically allow you to have the ending point of the level be wherever you wanted it, as long as you wanted to get to that spot twice in the level (which obviously wouldn't work as well in some levels as it would in others).

I'd suggest just starting from a 120-star file and submitting the finished run as a concept demo. Then there'd be no need to collect "extra" stars just for the sake of beating the game.
AFAIK, there isn't a way to start from SRAM yet in Mupen

Incidentally, mmbossman, where are you up to on the improvement?
Unfortunately I haven't had much time to work on this lately, due to school and other things, but I'm currently at the shadow nose level, trying to optimize the brick breaking. So I have 6 levels left to go, and I've saved just over 12 seconds so far.

The problem with this game is that all the levels are so dark that almost any screenshot looks like nothing is going on. I'd personally go with one from the middle dirt levels, since they have decent contrast.

I was just about to watch the movie through mupen, but the AVI made that unnecessary, thanks AKA! I wasn't too impressed w/ CF's first run, but this one was somewhat more entertaining, now that I've seen a couple of different runs to compare it to. And totally crushing the high score, again, is certainly worth a yes vote.

I have a feeling it would turn into the comments page on Youtube, ie. inane trash comments that do nothing but drive me crazy and become even more convinced that the world is 90% moron.

Of course I would love to see this run completed, since there's going to be a lot of extra small movements that will make a large difference in the end. I'd love to see exactly how you do some of the harder stars, and I'm glad to see you're still getting it done. Quick questions though: Why didn't you BLJ into the princess slide or into WF? I don't remember that you have to get coins doing that, and it's faster than seeing the star animation.

Up to scene 17 (ie Shadownose), and I've managed to gain 733 frames (12.2 seconds) on Mike's run. I'm not going to post a WIP since I'm so close to the end of the game, but I figured I'd give an update for those who wanted it. Progress has been slightly slow because I've picked up one of my other hobbies (poker) again recently, but I'm back to working on this also. Hopefully I'll have a submission within a week.

It seems to me like I used the right rom (U) [!]... so I'm not sure about that.
Adventures of Lolo (U) [!] gives me a mismatched checksum when I load the movie into FCEU, but Adventures of Lolo (U) [b1] gives me a matching checksum. I could copy them down for you if you'd like, but like I said, it plays back in both so it's not a big deal. Maybe wherever you get your roms has this one mislabeled (ie you mislabeled it when you dumped it yourself;))

Why does it show that KRocketNeo posted the initial, automatic posting? Did KRN hijack NesVideoAgent or something?

Just thought I'd let you know that this seems to be recorded with bad dump rom, although it plays back just fine with the [!] version, so it shouldn't be a big deal. This was the first time I've seen this game, and it was somewhat entertaining, although I don't quite get what the big deal is about it (everyone seems to absolutely love it). Anyway, I'll throw a meaningless yes vote in.
